jungkook knows that showing his true self and a more mature side of him might hurt some fans. i literally truly applaud him for wanting to create with us but simultaneously still being true to himself, no matter what. he won't stop expressing himself and his sexuality and whatever he desires to put out there, and i respect him so damn much for finally coming out of this shell that his fears trapped him in so far. sigh.

Seriously, his growth is so attractive, and not even in a sexual way but in that way that shines from within? Like his confidence to set this boundary, which is, in actuality a boundary that allows him more movement and freedom, is so beautiful. I feel like the Jeon Jungkook we’ve always known was there is finally getting to set foot outside and enjoy the sunlight.

The more real he is with himself to us allows fans to see and learn and grow as well. If they’re hurt by his action of being himself, it’s a great time for them to reflect on what about his actions cause them pain. It’s for them to reconcile, not for Jungkook to feel guilty over and shroud himself back in darkness.

He’s no longer afraid of his light, he is that famous quote (shortened from the full ver) in coach carter!

I didn’t expect a story to get me so fired up!??!!? I was intrigued right from the first chapter and I have thoughts and maybe unpopular opinions on the characters! OK so first of we see that jk and oc are really close. And that they feel protective of one another and that they’ve been through too much in their lives and learned to rely on each other. But after a few chapters it started to seem unhealthy and toxic imo.

Now jin is entering the equation. He’s the hot, quiet, older roommate how seems cold and distant. And of course oc would have a crush on him, he ticks all the boxes: hot, attractive, successful, mysterious! And at first it seemed like he didn’t really like her/only wanted her to fuck. Which is totally OK, you don’t have to be in love with the other or write sonnets for them to fuck them!!! Then we started to get a bit more into his mind and learned more about his history. And oof, that man has also been through A Lot. That bitch ari really ruined him!!!

Seokjin and oc are really trying to understand each other and communicate better and to give a concept to what they are having bc you need to name things in order to understand them better! But how can they navigate through their feelings when jk is always there to stir the pot and oc is always running to him??? When she didn’t want to talk to jin after her failed interview and stayed in jk’s room I felt so bad for jin that I had to stop for a bit to keep my cool. That man got used from his only gf and now he’s finally letting go of his fears and his ghosts, only to constantly be treated as a second choice!

Now let me rant a bit about my girl oc. I loved it when hobi talked facts, bc she is indeed treated like a princess and she needs to learn that not everything revolves around her. How can she expect jin to drop everything and everyone to make her his first choice when she’s the one who’s always treating him as a second choice?? I’m glad that she’s starting to change for the better, but I’m afraid she’s going back to square one after the events at chapter 30.

Jk,,,, man, he sucks!!!! He’s clingy, codependent and manipulative!! During the first chapters I was skeptical about jin and his motives with oc but now I am really disliking jk. He literally admitted that he left jimins party after fighting with jin without his helmet so he could get ocs attention! And under no circumstances respected ocs limits and space when he berated her with his confession. I am not biased here because jin is my bias, but that dude needs to have a couple of hundred therapy sessions because he doesn’t understand how selfish he is. He’s hurting everyone with this behavior. He went full hulk mode during the last chapters and he didn’t have the right to do so. And oc is hurting jin with her behavior.

The real question is, why jk was OK with yoongi being with oc but is so against jin being with her!?!? My heart is breaking for jin, dude’s not deserving this kind of treatment. I hope that jin and oc end up together, after she obviously comes clean with her feelings and everything. Can’t wait for the next updates!!!

i read this minutes before my lash app and let me tell u i sent it to my friends asap cuz THEY LITERALLY “GHOSTWROTE” THIS FIC 🤭 they say this because i pitched them the entire paraluman timeline before i posted the story and they GASPED. now, as they read along and see the characters in full (as a reader) they reviewed it as: THERAPY THERAPY THERAPY. they all need therapy. it even became an inside joke where we’ll say things like “that was so paraluman jin of u” “okay go off paraluman kimi(me)” … ngl, i made it my instagram post and no one but those friends understood 😭😭😭

and everything u said…. 100% what i was aiming to deliver. as a writer, i think smaus are so much fun but often create gaps for loss of detail and obviously monologue (which is why i incorporate written scenes),, after reading ur thoughts, i’m so happy that every small detail and potential gaps jus flowed.

in terms of the story,, i know it’s a lot. it’s a very overwhelming series of events and a lot of emotional build up… but it’s all intentional as the ending (part iii) will resolve all conflicts. i remember when i was first developing the plot/characters, i looked into how to make a good love triangle. it said that u need to have person A have smt that person B can’t give to person C. from the start of the fic, it’s clear. jungkook is the best friend and caters to oc’s emotional needs. jin is the nonchalant crush that caters to her physical/sexual needs. the shitshow begins begins when jungkook realizes what he offers is not enough. that as jin (person B) attempts to be jungkook (person A),,, it could work out. jungkook is now panicked and pulling all the stops to get what he wants while jin,,, is battling with unlearning trauma to be with a girl who is filled with it (oc has LOTS of emotional constipation rooted to her parents abandonment)

an aspect that i really love about paraluman is how many twists and turns it goes through,, and though messy,, u (hopefully) don’t get lost. the love triangle is still clear and the intentions fracture as each character begin to develop. with that being said, i don’t think paraluman would have hit or been this emotional if i hadn’t taken the time to really establish the routines and personalities of the characters. it’s something i’m kind of new to as most of my smaus are 30 parts max. often, i was afraid i’d be losing the audience. in all honesty, i think paraluman is one of my slow fics compared to my other smau in terms of audience engagement (which is why i’m so relieved and feel motivated after reading ur feedback).

sooooo… YES. that was the whole point. showcasing oc and jungkook’s gradual build up of a best friendship to —— woah,, are they lowkey toxic…? moment 🫡 YES. jin’s character development is key to the entire fix (does / does not mean he will end up with oc…) YES. in the beginning, i tried to portray oc as a pushover. in some cases, it worked and in other cases… her being a princess worked better. i think it’s an overlooked detail (my mistake on my part) that all three of these characters come from rich, entitled, and privileged families… which contributes to their stubbornness and inability to communicate without undertones of manipulation/gaslighting.

… i don’t want to spoil too much for the rest of the story so i won’t go any further with what i initially wanted to respond with 🤭 but with my whole heart, i hope you love the ending as it’s been planned since the beginning of this fic. i’m working hard to make it a seamless ending. i hope u’ll love it. i hope to hear back from u again once the story continue and completes 🤍

Your request is nothing new given the amount of times he fails to say no to you. Jungkook looks at you completely unfazed. Putting his Apple pen down, he crosses his arms the moment you push your textbook away to reach out to him. 

“Please?” you beg, wide-eyed and hopeful. He shakes his head at you and you immediately pout at his sternness.

You sulk.

“Okay, how about this? I promise I won’t ask for a study break for at least another hour if you let me.. I’ll even proofread your paper even though you know I have an attention span of goldfish.”

His heart clenches at the sound of your determination. Your proposal may be dismissed by others; but not to him. See, he believes you’re inherently blessed with editing skills. Every once in a while, you’d edit his papers and he’d receive full marks—he’d be a dummy to pass this limited service up.

Yet, it’s not about what he gains from you; it’s about how he can make you happy.

You take Jungkook’s eye roll and defeated sigh as a win, instantly opening the marker cap and waving it in front of him. As Jungkook rolls up his sleeves, you squeal in excitement. He lays his arm on the table for you and you groan at the position.

“Wait,” you pause, getting up from your seat and standing by his side. Jungkook leans his head back, looking up at you confused.

“Can I sit on your lap?” your request makes his heart race. 

He is utterly dumbfounded.
