So, India is dying.
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.
To put things in perspective,
1 USD = 75.22 Indian rupees
1 euro = 90.99 Indian rupees
1 pound = 104.40 Indian rupees
Even a small amount of 5 or 7 or 10 of foreign currency will help a lot. Our government has essentially abandoned us. People have turned to social media for help. WhatsApp groups and DMs on twitter/insta is where we find help. Our helpline is a Google doc. Situation is so dire that hospitals are discharging patients due to lack of oxygen. Every night the same story, oxygen running out in hospitals, citizens running around to somehow arrange for oxygen with minutes to spare. Last night, we had manged to get oxygen to a hospital with 14min to spare.

Some of you in the US have asked what else you can do. I'm not the best person to answer this since I'm not from there, but I do know that Biden is being urged to ship supplies to India. Maybe a more informed person can chime in with how best you can help but calling your representative and registering your concern sounds like a good starting point.

We need to dismantle the systems in place that allow white people to get away with offering black people sub-par services based on the excuse that our bodies are more difficult to work with. Black hair is not more difficult than white hair, it simply requires a different skill set. Tattooing vibrant tattoos on black skin isn’t more difficult than tattooing white skin, it simply requires a different skill set. Photographing black people isn’t more difficult than photographing white people, it simply requires an understanding of photography. Doing makeup on black skin isn’t more difficult than doing makeup on white skin, it simply requires different products. Working with black people is not more difficult than working with white people you’ve all just been taught that it’s not valuable and therefore not worth learning how.

This is extremely similar to the dilemma faced by disabled people. It is no more expensive to design a building with ramps instead of stairs, it’s only when you create the building first and have to tear down the stairs and replace them that you incur costs. If we teach the skills of inclusion from the beginning, there should be no additional costs for services and accessiblity for anybody.
Initially I wasn’t sure I wanted to diverge from the axis of race over to disability, but I actually think that the analogy of that building and how it’s only after we’ve institutionalized inequality that costs are incurred trying to fix it, is a valuable one so thanks for the contribution.

This was, by far, the most human episode I've ever seen. Maybe even in all of the mcu.
- Sam still being considerate of Walker after he just murdered someone. (that takes A LOT. we've always seen superheroes let their fist do the talking first)
- Sam and Torres just having a casual conversation with each other, and the mentor-student vibe of Sam passing down the wings to him.
- Walker's breakdown when he was discharged. (Wyatt Russell was incredible)
- The American government not being able to tolerate what their country represents, because that's exactly what Walker is. A human form of the USA.
- Zemo and Bucky. The relief written all over Bucky's face when he takes back control of his narrative.
- Ayo going back to calling Bucky, "White Wolf", the reestablishment of trust and the small smile she gives him.
- The whole scene with Isaiah and Sam. Everything about it.
- Sam coming back home, to where he's most comfortable, being among people he knows and loves.
- Bucky and Sam fixing the boat. Do I need to explain?
- Walker straight up lying to Lemar's family to make himself feel better. (let's be honest, it was a dick move, but it was human. People do that sometimes)
- Bucky coming to terms with the fact that it was wrong for him to keep shoving Steve's legacy in Sam's hands (realizing a mistake and accepting that you were wrong is an incredibly human thing to do)
- Bucky actually apologising to Sam. Not your dudebro or some superhero type bs. He actually apologized. With words.
- Sam and Bucky talking it out. I'm pretty sure this was the longest emotional conversation in all of mcu (again, I need to ramble about this later)
- Sam and Sarah talking. Sarah telling him how much she believes in him.
- "what's the point of all that pain and sacrifice if I wasn't willing to stand up and keep fighting?"
