Look at Princess Diana. Most people can agree that she was an Angel of a human being. The people’s Princess. A sweetheart. But for those who aren’t old enough to remember… it wasnt always like that. There were periods where something she said or did was blown out of the water and made out to be this horrible thing and she was torn apart by fans and media alike. Or look at Britney Spears… she was perceived as being unhinged and a bad mother because the media and fans were harassing her when she went to a bathroom with her child. Again - blown out of proportion. Taken out of context.

Matty is not a bad guy. He’s actually a sweetheart who cares a lot about the people around him and his fans. He’s a gentle soul. He feels his emotions immensely. He is NOT a walking red flag. That’s just what they want you to believe. (Media/fans).

2020 was like “i know a place” ... and took us to hell

This crap show BARELY GIVES THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT. And if they do it’s fucking fleeting and lasts for two episodes. They always shit on our favourite characters. They kill our favourites or their love interests or family in horrible ways. I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen people say they are having a hard time watching the show. THAT SHIT AINT NORMAL BITCH!!!! Shows are meant to make us fucking happy and entertain us, not be a fucking wank fest for the director and producers to see what ways they can make the story the most nonsensical to shock the audience and create something “edgy”.

Does fandom not realize that writers/creators don’t make their work for you? No, they probably didn’t listen to what the fans wanted because that’s not how art works?? If you want a story that goes the way YOU want, you’re going to have to write it yourself. Or just consume work with predictable/troupey endings if you’re this pressed.

But don’t expect someone else’s work to go the way you want and then complain when it doesn’t?? It’s their work!

This ain’t it. It’s not the fact that the story didn’t go the way we wanted it to. It’s the fact that jroth butchered so many characters, made choices that didn’t make sense and is genuinely a poor show runner and creator. We don’t have to accept and respect someone’s work when they’re bad at it.

Writers and creators DO make their work for other people. They have an audience. Sure - they have to write things they enjoy and that they are proud of. But without an audience they get nothing. Jroth has destroyed two of the largest fan bases of this fandom with his lack of skill and talent. If you’re fine with the ending - then cool. But don’t expect other people not to be upset.

they spent years signifying him as the heart of the show and then shot him in the heart

they used the starring man of color as a device, as a means to an end, as a prop
