not to be insane abt wwdits but something i’m realizing abt nandermo’s s1 dynamic (and all the vamps in general) is that i think they are kind of putting it on for the camera. like when nandor says he’s gonna buy glitter and guillermo is like “whatever for, master?” like… guillermo doesn’t talk like that lol it feels so forced bc they’re trying to be cool. the same way guillermo is like “very cool, master. very scary.” to comfort him when the coffin wouldn’t open etc.

but as the show progresses they just loosen up and become more authentic in front of the cameras because they obviously have some comfort and a degree of like…  camaraderie? with the documentary crew. guillermo hiding behind greg (they gave him a name!) during the night market and when nandor is all angry and swipes at the camera in s3 greg is like “aw, nandor come on!” and even nadja is happy to see that the camera crew is still there and alive when she gets back. 

idk if they’re FRIENDS with them, but they are allowing themselves to be genuine and vulnerable in front of them which i find very interesting because it’s the only way it can work in a show where they’re being filmed all the time. they have to have a bond with the crew so we can see their personalities and relationships with each other change because the crew are the gateway to the audience.

Saw this and it instantly reminded me of Kei and Tomie 💔 how he never really brought himself to forgive her for neglecting him but feels shameful about it nonetheless, like somehow it is still his fault. Even as an adult, the broken relationship of his parents causes constant turmoil within his mind. He.. misses something that he never had.
