It’s crazy that “sometimes meat is all people can afford” is seen as a criticism on veganism and not on capitalism.

Humans NEED vegetables, that is a fact. The majority of humans can lead healthy lives without meat, but a lack of vegetables in one’s diet will almost certainly cause issues.

There is absolutely no reason why a person should have their access to vegetables restricted. Instead of using the fact that sometimes meat is cheaper to try and “dunk” on vegans, you should be advocating for people to have more access to other foods and therefore have the ability to lead healthier and more ethical lives.

It’s not vegans that are the problem, it’s the bullshit system. Not only is it funding abusive industries, but it’s forcing people to adhere to a diet that has been proven to only hurt them health-wise, making them sicker. Vegans are not your enemy.

This is true, but i also see posts from vegans saying stuff like "you are absolutely a bad person if you're not vegan." Like, i saw a post saying that if you're not vegan, you would have been ok with slavery when it existed. There are certain vegans who are very vocal who want non-vegans to feel bad. So yeah, those guys are making themselves out to be the enemies of folks who maybe would be vegan but can't afford it and still eat a varied, healthy diet.

Capitalism is definitely the enemy. But it feels like some vegans need to remember that before they make moral judgements about the people who say that affording being vegan is hard.

When vegans ask why so many people are anti-vegan, one thing you need to do is look at your fellows who actively shame others. But also, capitalism has an interest in making people antagonistic towards vegans (while simultaneously marketing to you). You too need to remember that the capitalists are the enemy. Not the comrades struggling with grocery bills.

I think the "furry hate is just lgbtphobia" argument is incomplete because ableism is like. Super super key. Like with most "cringe" content, most furry hate revolves around catching people breaking social norms and mocking them as subhuman for it. Even heterosexual furries are mocked ruthlessly if they present their sexuality in an "autistic" way, which they very often do. Developmentally disabled furries are most often mocked and most at risk of being exploited by outsiders who pretend to be acting in good faith. That said, the reason furries are such a beloved target of mockery is definitely the intersection of ableism, queerphobia, and anti-kink ideology. An autistic trans woman who posts nsfw furry art is at huge risk, and we can see examples of that in practice across the internet.

Looking at the current bullshit with anthpo you can tell some of the people he included in the video as interviewees are disabled people who didn't pick up that he might be mocking them/didn't know how to express their boundaries at being asked weird sexual questions by a stranger on camera

I did not know the perfect tumblr existed until today

I heard a bug buzzing by my ear, then i felt it land on my ear and crawl towards my ear canal. I was afraid of trying to shoo it away because maybe it was a wasp. So i held very still and waited and i never heard it fly away. So i assume it's crawled all the way in and is still there.

Hours later, my ear itched and i remembered the bug. It was not in my ear.

But my sister says maybe the bug burrowed into my brain and took it over, and maybe it laid eggs in there and in a few days they'll hatch and eat my brain.
