i hope you like it! i also hope you don't mind me tweaking the request slightly, haha <3
“Upper Moon Two and Shinobu Kochou are here!” The crow cried out, hovering in front of the sliding door that led you to where the Upper Moon was staying.
You inhaled deeply, looking at your unsheathed sword—infused with the most powerful wisteria poisons you and Shinobu could ever make—with the help of Tamayo, of course, and your swordsmith.
And along with your blood…
Sliding open the door, your eyes widen at the sight in front of you; Shinobu was holding her shoulder—haori soaked in crimson—hunched over slightly with her other arm holding her sword.
Beside her, Kanao and Inosuke, who were quite injured themselves.
On the other side was the demon—Upper Moon Two—casually talked to them, a serene smile on his face.
Well, until you had arrived.
“Oh, look! Another meal as arrived! I’m truly blessed.” He declared happily, eyes closing as his smiled widened.
You ignored the demon, quickly running over to Shinobu. “How many injuries do you have? We need to treat you as soon as possible.” You fretted, wiping off the blood from her cheeks as you looked over at the wound on her shoulder.
“He just got my collarbone, (Name). Don’t worry. We have more important matters to tend to.” She reassured, eyes shifting over to the figure behind you—her violet eyes burning with a deep hatred.
Wordlessly, you nod, unsheathing your sword as you stood beside her, eyes narrowed at the enemy before you.
“Ah, how sad…do you not realize how useless your poisons and attacks are? Your attempts at taking my life are laughable.” He giggled, multi-colored eyes shimmering in delight.
“Breath of Poison, First Style: Devil’s Wisteria.” You mumbled, quickly charging forward as wisteria petals followed your sword, managing to slash his jaw before he jumped back, blocking your sword with one of his fans.
“Wow! You’re almost as fast as her!” He marveled, smile widening, his mouth healing in an instant.
Okay, good. He doesn’t seem to be aware or feel the effects of the poison.
Shinobu readied her sword, eyes boring into the Upper Moon’s. “Insect Breathing, Dance of the Centipede: Hundred Legged Zigzag!”
In a mere second, a flash of purple went towards the demon—gaining enough momentum for a single, powerful stab right through his neck as she jumped upwards, deepening the cut right through his neck and right into the roof.
Your heart beat spike as you watched her sword slide out as she fell backwards, only for the Upper Moon to use his ice flowers to catch her.
“Shinobu-sama!” Kanao cried, eyes wide.
“Shinobu!” Inosuke called out, frozen in his spot.
His smile widened as he looked over to you, sending his ice flowers towards you.
Jumping onto the flowers before the vines could wrap around you, you used them to propel yourself forward—slicing the vines that wrapped themselves around Shinobu.
Holding her tightly against your chest, you swiftly landed onto the ground away from the Upper Moon, setting her down gently.
Your eyes began to prickle as you looked over at her hunched figure, trembling slightly.
Not out of fear—but anger and frustration.
“Shinobu, please,” you beg, hugging her closely. “Don’t sacrifice yourself to defeat him. Please. We’re so close. I just need to shake him up and then we’re one step closer to defeating him.”
Taking the kakute ring from your middle finger, you quickly pull up your sleeve and dug the spikes on top of your arm and deep into your skin.
“H-hey, Poison Pillar! What’re you doing?!” Inosuke demanded, using his sword to point at your arm.
You hissed as you cut your arm, blood oozing out and dripping down your arm and right onto the wooden floor.
“(Name)…” Shinobu whispered, eyes widening. “Don’t hurt yourself like this.”
“It doesn’t compare to what he has done to the people, especially women and girls, that he has manipulated and killed.” You say with a painful smile, sliding the kakute onto your middle finger.
“Your blood…” Upper Moon Two spoke up, letting the vines of his ice flowers slither away, allowing him to land on the wooden floor after he had decomposed Shinobu’s poison. “It smells so good. You’re one of those people with that special blood type, aren’t you?”
You watched the way his saliva dribbled down his mouth, iridescent eyes focusing solely on your bleeding arm, beginning to breathe heavily.
You don’t respond, hand tightening around the hilt of your sword.
Kanao whipped her head towards the Upper Moon, plum colored eyes burning with rage—replacing her usual blank eyed look she usually wore.
“Breath of Flower, Fourth Style: Crimson Hanagoromo!”
Charging forward, she swung her sword in the direction of his neck—only for him to block it with his fans, and aimed for the back of her neck.
“Breath of Poison, Third Style: Deadly Nightshade.”
Slashing his arm before he could touch Kanao’s neck, you brought your bleeding arm near his nose for a moment before jumping back, arm around Kanao’s waist.
The Upper Moon stumbled back, seemingly dazed. “Huh. Your blood makes me dizzy.”
“Flower Breathing, Fifth Style: Peonies of Futility!”
“Breath of Poison, Second Style: Titan Arum.”
“Breath of the Beast, Eighth Fang: Explosive Rush!”
Together, you, Kanao, Inosuke sprung forward, slashing his body repeatedly without hitting each other, attacks in sync.
I need to go for the head—
Before you could bring your sword to his neck, however, swinging his fans repeatedly—a series of multiple attacks weaving over one another his they headed towards the three of you.
“Breath of Poison, Fourth Style: Bleeding Heart.”
Swinging your sword in multiple directions, you cut through the attacks, standing in front of Kanao and Inosuke so they wouldn’t be impacted by his Blood Art.
You look over at the color of his elongated nails, the deep blue hue shifting into violet, before a blood red.
It indicated that the poison you and Shinobu created was starting to work.
“(Name),” Shinobu spoke up, voice shaking slightly as she got up, her shoulder bandaged.
She must’ve done it while we were attacking him.
“I want to do it with you.”
You nod, smiling as she stood beside you—a deadly calm expression on her face.
“Insect Breathing, Butterfly Dance: Caprice.”
“Breath of Poison, Sixth Style: Queen of Poison.”
The two of you quickly leapt towards him, attacks weaving onto one other’s intricately, swirls of violet butterflies and blood aconite blending together; Shinobu’s sword stabbed multiple times as you sliced his neck off, landing with a thump! beside his body as you wrapped your arm around Shinobu’s body, distancing yourself from the Upper Moon.
“Huh, amazing! You cut off my head. Too bad I can just reattach…” He trailed off, his body stiff.
You watched as his face began to rot away, falling onto his knees as he looked at his arms.
His eyes began to fall out—then, his arms began to melt, his bones—everything.
You watched with a satisfied smirk, feeling warmth spread throughout your body at the sight of the dying demon in front of you.
“Ah, how sad…do you not realize your attempts at regenerating are? It’s laughable, really.” You mocked, crossing your arms over your chest.
He attempted to speak, to do the something—however, you were right. He could do a thing.
Finally fading away, it felt like a huge burden was lifted off your shoulders.
“Shinobu, my love,” you smiled, tears prickling at the corners of your eyes. “We did it.”
She nodded wordlessly, letting out a breathy laugh as she collapsed into your chest, her tears soaking your uniform.
They weren’t tears of sadness.
They were tears of happiness and hope.
All four of you hugged each other tightly, closely; savoring the moment with one another.
