The shower head sputtered to life, lukewarm water raining down on my hand as I tested the temperature. Twisting the knob, I finally stepped under the spray, sighing out in exhaustion. My head felt heavy, weighed down by all the things that had been happening, most of my thoughts on the two men that were waiting for me outside.

Sleaze Roxx: They showed the video once for “Loaded Gun” on MuchMusic. And then that was it. I never saw it again.

David Reece: “If you watch the video, the young man that’s with that girl is Jared Leto, the actor. He was, like, 14. His Mom brought him in, I looked at ten guys that day and I looked at him. He had the James Dean hair, blue eyes, I said, “That guy!” Long story short, I met him about 10 years ago at a 30 Seconds To Mars show. I said, “Do you remember me?” He’s standing there looking at me with that red mohawk. He says, “I know your face!” I go, “Bangalore Choir? Loaded Gun?” He started jumping up and down screaming, “Oh my God, that was my first acting part!” So that’s kind of cool.”

The concert was ending, the band exiting the stage to cheers and applause. You were there, standing by in case someone needed you, and Jared whizzed past without even a glance in your direction. The smile that had spread on your face flickered and completely extinguished as he disappeared around the corner. Frozen in place, you looked around awkwardly, hoping that someone would at least need help with something. A rush of relief made you sigh as you heard someone calling your name. It was one of Jared's assistants, the main one, the one that intimated you a lot because she was really good at her job and took shit off of no one, not even Jared. She said the words that made your stomach flip, your face going to react but trying hard not to give anything away. The last thing you wanted was for everyone to know something was up. You were needed in Jared's trailer, the assistant informed you, and you nodded, hands balling at your sides as your nerves started to get to you. The walk to the trailer seemed shorter than usual and you took a moment at the metal stairs before knocking.

It was the final stretch of a long tour, sold out shows and meet & greets coming to an end. Everyone was exhausted from long days and short nights, but none more than Jared. Everyone could see it in the way he carried himself, the ever growing issue with his back making him more quiet and short tempered.

You saw it coming long before anyone else did, your relationship with the leading man platonic but personal. You were his go-to, the only one that could make him feel better after a particularly long day. As the last show was about to come to an end, you knew your time was almost over. You were hired on as a physical therapist, traveling with the band, and while you had been hired to assist anyone that needed it, you quickly became Jared's favorite.
