What We Know, What To Expect, & Moving Forward!

Hey Y’All!

By the time this post is made, we’ll be–roughly–eleven months away from the release date of Sonic the Hedgehog 3(2024). As of now, we don’t have a whole lot of information concerning the Knuckles Series on Paramount + and when it will release. The same can be said for the third Sonic movie.  Last time I made an updated post was back in January of 2023. Since then, we’ve gained some new information. I’ve combed through everything that’s been posted since 2021 to compile into a large master post! When leaks and other news resurface, I’ll update this post monthly to share via reblog.

Hey Everyone!

Here is a monthly summary of everything that’s been shared since this post was published on January 24th:

Do you think that we’ll get Gerald? And if so do you think that Jim Carrey will play him in the film?

I think that anything is quite possible, my dear. If Gerald Robotnik’s skeleton was in Sonic 2’a concept art, I think his chances of appearing are pretty good. As for who will play him? Hmm…. I don’t think that Jim Carrey would, but it would be interesting to see if it was an option.

Hey Y’all❤️✨

I know that the fandom is in a weird and funky place at the moment, and I’m so sorry for the negativity. Fandoms should be a safe place to exist in and create friendships/found families in.

I can’t control what goes on everyday. I can only control what goes on here and what I curate my experiences to be. What I will say, however, is that I want you guys to feel safe and happy here. The whole point of this place is that you feel at home here—it’s a home-away-from-home. You’re always welcome to vibe here. I promise. I hear you, I see you, and I care.

every day i practically live for the fact that i cannot die before seeing the sonic 3 trailer and movie

Me too, my dear. It’s always nice to feel excited for something.

Oof! I didn’t register this as a joke for a second. It scared me, I was really worried. It took me a minute to realize that this was an exaggeration 😅

Is anyone else kind of concerned that Shadow’s character might have a lot of restrictions and mandates? It feels like he’s got the biggest chokehold by sega in this series

Hi Hon❤️✨

I’ve shared my thoughts about this before, but I’m more than happy to reiterate a few of my points. I’ve also dive a bit more into this topic in my pinned post as well! If it helps, the SCU crew don’t have mandates for the films (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022). They are given suggestions by SEGA for lore bits and story. From my understanding, mandates fall along the lines with IDW more than they do with the films and other spinoff titles (I.E., Prime and Boom). The main writers have asked for notes from SEGA and are repeatedly in conversation with them for the SCU. Other than such, the core members have worked on Sonic titles before—Shadow’s game.

I think their only true rule is that lore for the films needs to be simple. They must cater to a clientele that is both diehard fans and for those that are casual gamers of Sonic. As long as they make point connect from the games, then they can use it.

In short of my rambling, I think that we’re going to be just fine with Shadow😎

I’m hoping amy is at least in the mid-credits scene, because idk if i can deal with two more years of “should amy be in the movies or not” debate

That’s completely understandable, my dear. I’d like the debates to stop as well.

Even if there is no Sonic 3 trailer, I still intend on seeing IF, it looks like a fun movie!

Oh, absolutely! I was planning on seeing the movie next week with my brother. It looks a lot like Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, which was a show that the two of us liked watching as kids.

He’s gonna have to put up with my bullshit if it shows during the movie’s previews😈

According to TrailerTrack—a Twitter account dedicated to sharing release dates of upcoming trailers and movies—a trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is EXPECTED to release around the time of Paramount’s “IF” in theaters.

“IF” comes out on May 17th in the United States for comparison. Confirmation on the exact date and length of the trailer will come in a couple of days.

Sonic 3 does not have a rating yet for the United States, but has a rating in Australia and in the Slovak Republic.

UPDATE: Apparently, it’s about 2 minutes long. This is considered “full length.”
