And with that, this story is complete! Gonna take a short break from the comics for a few weeks while I finish up school finals, then I've got a different (darker) Nimona comic in the works that I'm planning to post next. (remember the 'Halloween comic' I mentioned last year?)
After that I've got a final short comic planned to cap off the series, so stay tuned!

Ambrosius was there when the sword went off. The deadly blast caught everyone by surprise - Ambrosius barely had a moment to think before grabbing his sword. It was a moment though, just long enough for him to gather his wits and knock the sword from Ballister’s hand before anyone else got hurt, Ballister included. The sword fell to the ground, sparking as it disintegrated into pieces. Ambrosius and Ballister stared at it, then at each other in shock. Then the guards leapt into action. Ballister was so stunned he didn’t fight back when they pinned his arms behind his back and forced him to his knees.
“I didn’t do it.” his voice was barely audible over the noise of the stadium. Then the guards started dragging him away, past the stunned cadets, back into the tunnels below the Glorodome. “I DIDN’T DO IT!” he shouted, finding his voice. “SOMEONE SWITCHED MY SWORD!”
Ambrosius had watched in shocked silence. There was nothing else he could do.

Also, Colombian folklore, my beloved.
Oh, these are fun! I’ve already come up with a few, but I always thought a fun angle would be if they had some Colombian folk creatures be introduced. Like when the mountains got their new passage, it somehow alerted other magical beings.
* Antonio befriending a strange little girl who is actually a pink river dolphin that got separated from her family.
* Isabela meets a mysterious young woman who also manipulates plants and teaches Isa how to strengthen her powers. There’s a subtle hint of romance, but the girl is actually Madre de Monte who wants to use Isa to wipe out the community
* A backstory of how Augustín courted Julieta, with the help of Felix and Bruno.
* A fortune teller arrives in the Encanto, making Bruno suspicious of her motives
* A famous Colombian legend, Francisco de Hombre, arrives and befriends the Madrigals.
* An episode featuring El Sibón (the whistler) and only Dolores can hear his whistling.

My Encanto Villain OC, El Sombrerón! A couple of gifts/commissions done by my good friends @silvercdeer, @prophetic-hijinks, and @blairaptor, all with their own OCs!
I can’t take full credit for his creation on account he’s based on a Colombian folk figure, but my take on him is he’s the man who killed Pedro Madrigal the night the Encanto was created. The candle cursed him and now he’s a living wax figure who has a vendetta against the Madrigals. He “feeds” off candlelight and uses the memories from the flame to absorb information. His only companion is a shadowy smoke creature named Diablo who can shift into a horse, pair of dogs, flock of birds, anything to serve his master!

I’m serious! I hate it when “adorkable” is the new eye roll. First it was female characters shouldn’t crave true love, then it was strong, independent women are too high standards, now girls who are quirky and dorky are boring?
Like, I get it. When it comes to the male animated leads, we do have more variety. Like comparing Kuzco to Jim Hawkins there’s a definite difference. Sure, Mirabel and Rapunzel were “quirky” but I can still tell them apart (and I don’t mean physically). Mirabel was smart, observant, compassionate, and determined to help her family. Rapunzel was hesitant, but curious, adventurous, optimistic, and resourceful.
Also, people keep saying how unfinished the animation looks. It’s WATERCOLOR!!! It’s supposed to look like a FAIRY TALE BOOK!!! Not like Spiderverse or Last Wish!
Also, King Magnifico’s song. People heard 30 seconds of “This Is The Thanks I Get?!” and assume it’s too upbeat.

If you actually sit down and listen to the whole song, there is a part in the bridge where Magnifico does start sounding a lot more sinister. Also, he starts getting more and more unhinged as the song progresses. Trust me, we’re in for a visual treat!
I personally cannot wait to see this movie! I am really eager to see where the story is taken, I want to know Asha a lot better, I want to know Magnifico and his evil plan.
