The entire purpose of this calculation was to quantify general athletic ability. I thought about what goes into general athletics and measured several attributes to determine this including
- Muscular Strength
- Muscular Endurance
- Speed
- Cardio-respiratory Endurance
- Anaerobic Capacity
- Power
- Agility
- Maximal Endurance
When I built everything out and used my knowledge of fitness to calculate what would be reasonable scores for the average human being vs. elite performers, it just so happened that the average untrained human male had a power level of 5.
This calculation won’t tell you who would win in a fight, but it will definitely give you a general understanding of your athletic ability in relation to the real world around you and it can be really useful when seeing how you might stack up to other who practice the same sport or martial art as you. It gives you a basis for judging whether or not you are in shape to do such a thing.
You wanna be more competitive? You should train!
But, if what you’re doing doesn’t increase your power level, did you really improve your athletic ability? You could’ve gained in one area and lost in another. The key to improving your athletic ability is to increase the metrics that determine athletic ability specifically.
So, why not have a program that specifically builds your power level? And not just a pre-made program, but one that is structured to personally fit your goals– every workout and meal built specifically to drive your performance through the roof.
That’s Operation Power Level. It’s built specifically to push your performance higher and higher, no matter what you’re doing. Runner? Powerlifter? Fighter? Tennis player? Doesn’t matter. Think about what it would mean if you took yourself from a power level of 10 to 20. You’ve essentially doubled your overall athletic ability.
If you don’t even know where to start in testing, let alone training, do yourself a favor and make sure you’re on our e-mail list. You’ll get a free crash course on some fitness concepts to get you started.
