ig that comment i wrote one year ago abt "you doing you" on your announcement got popular. i'm glad you appreciated my comment. the funny thing is that, only a few months after writing that and feeling so shocked that someone would have the audacity to treat you like that, i found out that my own best friend was treating me similarly. i broke things off in a way i'm not proud of and i have been spending the last couple of months healing and poring over myself and my own role in what happened. i'm guessing you maybe know the feeling. the timing of it is kinda funny. i guess. lol
i wanted to let you know that, in a sort of cute, poetic way, you have in turn inspired me and helped me stay normal in the face of losing a decade-long friendship to lies, theft and disrespect. every once in a while i remind myself of the grace and power you showed us while coping with such an awful experience, and it helps. i appreciate you a lot, too.

Imo the funniest part about tiktok is that despite how ridiculous and pervasive the censorship is, there's no evidence that any of it actually works. People get videos with allegedly suppressed words to go viral all the time. The Washington Post's social media team even did an experiment where they tried to get a video suppressed or banned by saying as many "bad" words in it as possible only for it to become their most popular video by a wide margin. Hell, the only tiktok to crack a million views on my account is also one of my most profane, and some of my other most popular vids are jokes about BDSM with no censorship.
The practice of self-censorship was developed because people saw that their videos were flopping and assumed it was because they were getting shadowbanned for mature content rather than accept the reality that The Algorithm is random and unpredictable.
That entire app has made it standard practice to use Orwellian newspeak euphemisms for everything for literally no material reason. It's like the online equivalent of every desk fan in south korea coming with a timer because a huge swath of the population there believes with no evidence that you can asphyxiate if you sleep in a room with a fan running overnight.
A similar phenomenon happened on Twitter. People straight up believe they can't say words like "commission" or "fundraiser" or "auction" or else the algorithm will hide their posts from people, but the fact is people just tend to interact less with posts asking for money or advertising a product. Despite several tweets debunking it, I still see people still to this day censoring the word commission because they think it will help more people see their posts.
Mythology is not an ancient rock but an ongoing, unceasing river in the bloodstream of all humanity. Ignore the presence and flow at your own destruction.

Ok I bite, but only because I just get so unreasonably worked up about it:
There is a clear distinction between animal or mineral pokémon that have symbiotic plants, like bulbasaur or torterra, and pokémon that are supposedly "pure" plants.
Which is why it drives me unreasonably mad that new generation starters have just like green fur and leaves and flowers sticking out of them randomly. The bulbasaur formula war perfectly fine.
So those grass starters where there is no clue as to how plant and animal connect and it's all just blended together, I guess they are plant pokémon shaped like animals, whatever, I tell myself that to stay sane. Or maybe pure animals that just mimic plants attributes so perfectly they gain all elemental attributes through mimicry alone.
Anyway the next question of course is ok, then what are pokémon animals and pokémon plants and indeed pokémon minerals even made of
And my take is they do not have plant or animal cells they have pokémon cells because I still stick with the canon that pokémon are aliens distinct from the animals and plants the human colonists on that terraformed planet share their tree of life with (and if humans in the pokémon world have a genetic relation to pokémon, see Ash's family situation, that's because things like Mew and Ditto snuck into the colonist's genepool in ways I shall not speculate about here).
Now of course another question is, do symbiotic pokémon bond with Terran-imported plants or only with pokémon plants but I will stop for now because frankly I am scared to re-read all I just typed Reblog Post
