glassanimals: Very happy to have finally been able to work with our friends at @boilerroomtv to do something special leading up to this year’s @mercuryprizecelebration! Here’s a stripped back funk version of Season 2 Episode 3 done in an arcade in Peckham near where I spent my teenage years. we brought some palms with us too. thank you to boiler room crew and the @hyundaiuk @mercuryprize crew for making it all possible!

Awww oh man this is super sweet, thank you :’) at risk of sounding snobby which is def not my intent, you’re right I have been around for quite a while and for a while was one of like, 2 ga blogs here haha, so I’ve had a good run in the tumblr world. It’s been cool watching the fanbase grow and I’ve made such great friends on here and because of ga, it’s been great. I definitely miss the glory days of my ga blogging BUT life goes on ya know. I’m so glad people have enjoyed following along :) 

ANYWAY I didn’t mean for this to sound dramatic like I’ve sworn off tumblr forever and am leaving permanently, I’m still popping in sometimes, it just felt like a good time to acknowledge that gushinggold isn’t exactly what it used to be haha. Shout out to the og followers and everyone who’s followed in the past 3 years. Thanks for the love, see you all at future shows 🤘

Oh hi. I’m quite good!! Pretty much at the point where I’ll only glance at tumblr every few days to see if I have any messages (though idk why I would anymore lol) and that’s all. It’s not that I love glass animals any less than I ever have, I’m still 100% trash just kind of lost interest in/outgrew tumblr and my friends sorta have too so here we are. I miss it but I won’t ever get rid of this blog, it’s a scrapbook of my past years of trashdom and I love it hahaha. But I know there's like 394727 ga blogs around here now though so I doubt anybody even noticed the absence of this one lolol.

anyway, I don’t even know what kind of answer you were looking for or who sent this but there’s an unsolicited update on this blog for you I guess hahaha. Hope you’re all well my dudes ✌️

So I was stalking the 'Pools' tag on here as one does, and I saw you asking if anybody had a link to the earlier version of the song (where 'boy' is used instead of 'toy') and I happen to know it! Can't link it but if you look up GLASS ANIMALS LIVE IN PARIS A LA FLECHE D' OR LE 18 JUIN 2013 n° 2 you can listen after the 4 minute mark. Also the video is not mine though I'm on anon anyway lol.

Ohhhh yeah I forgot about all that, and that's funny because I know I've watched that video before haha but it's been a long time and I must have either forgotten or not even realized it was different, I'll have to check it out again! Thanks! I remember one of those same videos having a weird old version of Toes, too, so I'm not surprised.

i was at the kc show too! if i recall correctly they said "there's no place for that stuff at a glass animals show. here's a song about everything they hate, it's called take a slice" :) and they signed that pride flag beforehand as well

Ohhh okay yeah that makes sense, thanks! I heard the first thing and the last thing he said but couldn’t quite make out what he said in the middle. And yeah I did see them signing the flag as well!
