Hiiii, I made a storyboard to the song Crooked Path from Grand Hotel for my portfolio. If anyone could offer me some critiques... that would be really helpful :’) I don’t know if the sketchy style is looked down upon in storyboards cause I’ve seen some really sketchy professional storyboards before... but maybe that’s not something you’d want to put on a portfolio? Either way, I hope you enjoy! :D Here’s some concept art:

Some of my takes on the batman characters!

Bruce Wayne is pretty much the same, but he has a robotic wife so the public doesn’t get suspicious about what he does all day. She’s quite popular on Twitter.

Dick Grayson is very different. He doesn’t know Bruce Wayne personally and is struggling as a young musician in his early 20′s, trying to popularize his fusion of disco and 90′s rap.

Maria is a young woman who lives in the early-mid 20th century in Los Angeles. She’s a detective or journalist or smth like that. She’s the only woman who works at her office, other than Estela the secretary, her only friend there. Maria has been trying really hard to get the promotion at her work.

One day, a man named Angel shows up and gets a job at her detective/journalism company. At first, Maria doesn’t think much of him, until he gets the promotion she’s been after only 2 weeks after he’d been hired. Maria is completely baffled how a newbie like him could steal her thunder. Then, she finds out Estela and Angel are dating and she hardly ever even glances at Maria anymore. Soon, Estela quits her job and Maria never sees her anymore.

At first, Maria was angry. She didn’t think it was fair life was treating her like this. The anger soon turned into sadness as her mornings and evenings were wrapped in complete solitude for months on end. Sadness turned into desperation. Her whole life went down the toilet ever since Angel showed up, so to fix it, she’d have to get rid of him. She pulled a gun on him, accusing him of being a demon set out to ruin her life. Angel laughed and began to sing to her.

He had the loveliest voice she had ever heard. The whole world felt alive; Maria was the happiest she had ever been, and all because of his singing. After his song, Angel declared his love for Maria, and being bewitched by his beautiful song, she admitted her love for him too.

A few months flew by and Maria was seeing Angel on a regular basis. He was the only thing she cared about anymore. Her work effort began slipping, she would forget to eat, she no longer went outside her apartment unless for work. But when he sang for her, all her troubles melted away.

On one date, Maria had convinced Angel to sing for her, but as they were walking, he tripped on the sidewalk and blurted out a flat note. He quickly began singing again, but somehow, it didn’t sound right. And it didn’t feel right.

Angel’s singing was just as good as it had always been, but it didn’t make Maria feel the way she used to. She realized she didn’t like Angel and she never had. She was planning to split off with him.

She found his address through work files. When she showed up, the front door was unlocked, so she let herself in. She almost immediately heard muffled grunting coming from down in the basement. Being a detective/journalist, she opens the door, turns on the light, and sees a person ripped up in a bloody mess, on the cusp of death. She runs down the stairs without thinking, wanting to help, when suddenly the lights turn off and there’s Angel, at the top of the stairs.

He closes the door, killing all the light. Angel waves a dagger at Maria as they’re suspended in complete darkness. Maria hides, Angel looks for her. Eventually, Maria gets a hold of the dagger and cuts his face. Angel finds a cinderblock and smashes her arm. Instead of reacting in pain, she lunges the dagger into him when he thinks he has the upper hand. He bleeds out on the floor, singing to her one last time. His notes are off key and he coughs in between the words. Maria shuts his mouth and he stops singing, and then breathing.

The person in the basement doesn’t live. Angel is cremated; he doesn’t have a funeral. Maria never finds out what happened to Estela. Maria is fired from her job for killing someone, but quickly gets a new one with a better work environment. She makes friends there. Soon she forgets about Angel and can live her life contently.

Soooo yeah! Basically Angel is a siren-creature. He sings and it puts people under a spell. Also he eats women. He sings this song, I just felt like it would match his voice (though I imagine him to have an accent). Sorry for the long post!
