Jyn stayed quiet as he spoke, decidedly warm and comfortable in his arms - even if the sofa wasn’t quite made for cuddling like this. She didn’t care. She could stay in Cassian’s arms until the end of the world (something she remembered that, technically, she’d already done).

“Thank you.” She told him, pressing a kiss against the bottom of his chin and laughing to herself quietly. It felt ridiculous - two hardened Rebel fighters cuddling on a sofa after they snuck off for a few days holiday. She felt like a teenager - a proper teenager. Not one left to fend for herself after any semblance of a family left her.

“We should head to bed - it must be late.”

“Saw told me people were starting to figure out who I was, he thought it was too dangerous having me around if people knew I was the daughter of an Imperial Scientist.” She told him, thought saying it out loud made the excuse sound just a little more ridiculous that it did in her head. Squeezing his hand she rested her head on his shoulder and sighed.

“I’m sorry... I wish I could have been in the Rebellion, been there for you.”

“She needs her sleep, I don’t want you willing her to stay awake. I want her to be an easy sleeper, otherwise she’s going to give me absolute hell.” Jyn teased, settling down as she watched the little girl yawn in her grandfather’s arms. “You’ll have to teach me everything, you know? I know you’ve always said it comes naturally but I’m still nervous about it all, especially without Cassian here. The medics said they’d get word to him as soon as they could.”
