Author Spotlight

Hello Everyone!

So, I’m glad to see people interested in the blog again – just needed to blow off the dust.  Something I’d like to do again is Author Spotlights.  

Author Spotlights is where every week, we highlight works of a specific author.  Usually at the beginning of the week, I do a short interview-like post where you get to know the author a little bit, and the rest of the week, we make sure to blog fics from that author to get their work out there more.  I think it’s a fun way to help create a community of authors currently writing in the Glee/Klaine fandom.

Since this is a Klaine specific site, I would prefer authors who wrote Kurt and/or Blaine friendly stories.  Unfortunately, I won’t be featuring things like Seblaine or Kelliott or RPS fiction.  

If you are an author and want your fics spotlighted, or if you have a favorite author you’d like to be spotlighted: PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE HERE.  

If you’ve already been in contact, I should have sent you a note.  If I haven’t gotten to you yet – please make sure to send a message to the above link - I sometimes miss things put down in the notes.  Also, if did the spotlight when we original did them, you’re more than welcome to do it again!

Hi, gals (and guys)! I need some input on a Glee fanfiction project I’ve been working on. As some of you may know, scarvesandcoffee.net is not being maintained at the moment, and as far as I’m concerned, the website will be down when the domain expires in the end of July. I, and several others, have tried contacting the admins but in vain, so I decided to take action myself.

What I’ve done so far is to create a epub backup of all fics posted there, as well as tags and comments. I’m working on making pdfs too, we’ll see how that goes.

Anyway, what I need people’s input on, is what to do with the saved content. I can of course just keep the epubs and share them with whoever is interested, or I can put up an archive website where everything will be searchable and downloadable. If I choose the latter, I need som help both administrating and financially. Or perhaps I’ll try to transfer them to AO3?

Matching author names with Tumblr names

I like to rec fics. I do. I read tons and tons of Glee fanfiction (mostly Klaine), and I can’t help but gush over them, because as a fandom, we are SO spoiled. Glee fanfic writers are so talented, and we’re blessed to have them share their stories with us.

But often, I have trouble tagging an author on Tumblr because their Tumblr name differs from their author name on AO3 or Lifejournal or Fanfiction.net or Scarves & Coffee.

Sometimes, it’s as simple as smushing the name together (Twitchy Squirrel = @twitchysquirrel) or adding a number (Flowerfan = @flowerfan2).

In some cases, though, the names aren’t a bit alike, so you just have to KNOW.

That’s why I’ve compiled the following list of author names and corresponding Tumblr handles. Use it as a reference when reccing a fic, and PLEASE help me out and add to the list if you know of others. Thanks very much in advance!
