reblog this if your blog is a safe space on april fools and won’t have any jumpers, screamers, or anything scary or anxiety inducing

One. I’m way too lazy to do anything for April 1st.

Two. I won’t even be aware it’s April 1st because what even is time and how do you keep track of it?

Three. That’s not the kind of discomfort or anxiety I like to cause from my blog.

Four. If I am to post/re-blog anything like that on my blog I will be tagging it appropriately to AVOID unwilling participation.

home and away

[image description: 3 gifs from 9-1-1.]

gif 1: from season 5, episode 4. Buck and Chim sit at the kitchen table in Chimney and Maddie’s apartment. Buck tells Chimney, “She’s gonna come home.”

gif 2: from season 3, episode 16. In Buck’s apartment, Maddie leans over to cup her hand around Buck’s as they lock pinkies. Buck looks at her and nods his head shakily. The text reads, “How do you know that?”

gif 3: from season 4, episode 5. In Maddie and Chimney’s apartment, Maddie tucks herself into Buck’s side as they look at old pictures. The text reads, “‘Cause I know my sister.”

The argument of Chimney must be a bad person because Buck could have hit him in season four but he didn’t is just all kinds of confusing?

They are different people, in different situations with different reactions. And no, Chimney shouldn’t have hit Buck, of course he shouldn’t but was he thinking logically at the time? Also no. They were in an extremely emotionally charged situation in which Chimney has been breaking for eight days in front of Buck. Right now, he can’t see it the way Buck sees it because keeping the information from him for over a week has literally driven him to wondering if Doug is still alive, Chimney is not okay right now. His depressed girlfriend is out there with nobody, thinking that her family is better off without her. Buck kept the fact his daughter went to the ER from him, he didn’t tell Chimney he had heard from Maddie and therefore she was alive.

Neither of them were in the right but neither were inherently in the wrong. It was an emotional reaction by a usually non-violent person who reacted without thought or logic. He was standing in front of the man who held all the missing pieces of information including the fact his daughter had been in the hospital and he just lost it. Please see nuance beyond the fact that will have a black eye for a few weeks, it’s not great and it probably hurt like hell but Chimney doesn’t get to be your punch bag because you don’t like what he did one (1) time. You don’t have to like something to understand it.
