This was probably mentioned before, but I couldn’t help thinking about Diego’s role in the movie Terminal, where he plays a really cute food service worker at an airport. Airport means pilots. Pilot means Bodhi. So I just had to imagine a Sniperpilot fluffy AU where Cassian works at an airport and is always swooning over this fantastic pilot named Bodhi Rook.

“Yeah. Something went wrong–I never found out what–and he stood up and said, ‘Ah fix it.’ He dicked around under the hood and got back on the bus and said, ‘start'er up.’ The bus was fine and we made it to the hotel.”

John could tell Dave was taking this seriously because not even an eyebrow wiggled.  "Yes.  Help me Obi-Dave –“

“Nah, Dave Solo, except that I never shoot first. ”  

Victor falls in love easily. A note of music, a turn of the head, a movement of the hips, a clasp of the hand. He falls in love for as long as it lasts; a summer or a winter. Once for a year, once for an afternoon.

Images flooded her brain, chaotic and contradictory, and she closed her eyes as if that would somehow block them out. She couldn’t think about the future right now. If she thought about the future, she’d go catatonic. Now, though. She could handle now.

Steve strips the bed methodically, trying to ignore the thick red stain in the sheets even as the not-quite-dry blood sticks to his fingers.  The blood has seeped into the top of the mattress too, a violent bloom on the left side of it, and Steve resists the urge to haul the mattress from the frame and throw it down the stairs.  The only thing keeping him from destroying it is the fact that it would certainly wake Peggy, who has finally managed to fall asleep in Bucky’s old bed.

The memory of her telling him that she liked how this shirt brought out his eyes the last time he’d worn it had, in fact, drifted across his mind when he was going through his closet to get dressed for tonight. “Oh,” he says after a brief pause, scratching at his cheek. “Thank you. You also…look nice. Very…sparkly,” he finishes lamely with an awkward hand gesture that’s supposed to…emphasize her sparkliness? Oh god, he’s terrible at this.

When the attack came, Rey responded so quickly that even she wasn’t sure what had happened. Luke had said that if she was deeply in tune with the Force, time would seem to slow down during emergencies, giving her the ability to process events and make decisions quickly. She’d nodded but hadn’t really believed it until now. When time slipped back to its usual speed, the two guides had disappeared with the armored speeder, and the General was looking at her with something like amusement in her eyes.

“Please what?”  Cesare recoiled the flogger, wrapping it in loose loops.  "Do you want me to stop?“

His Holiness waves away Micheletto’s every sin, forgives him the crimes he has yet to commit with a careless blessing. “My son is weaker without you,” he explains with a kind impersonality, as though Micheletto were a knife Cesare had dropped in the street.

“I understand, your Holiness,” Micheletto tells him, a good knife.

What if the Guardians had made their move years earlier? “On the fourth hour of the fourth day of the month of Anasto in the Year of the Dragon.“ That was the message coded into little waterproof chips tucked into the sweetcakes sold at the cake stand in the lower quarters by a blind, smiling monk and his large, gruff chef.

[Bodhi] smiled. Was this what being dead was like? This wasn’t so bad. Sure, he could tell it wasn’t real, but it was still more pleasant than literally anywhere else he’d been for longer than he could remember, so he wasn’t about to complain.

“I heard that the Noldor are murderers.”

“Who would they have murdered, though?  Each other?”

“I am not sure.”

Baze laughed a little and Chirrut’s heart seemed to briefly hurtle into his throat. Whatever sensation that was, it was not going to make sparring any easier. “You’re as good as they say, if that’s what you’re worried about. So I got in a couple lucky shots.”

“Sure, for most people,” Jyn said cheerily. “Baze,” Bodhi interrupted, “see, the thing is, usually you’re not wrong, but he – he’s blind.” “Blind,” Baze repeated. “He’s a blind fortuneteller.”

Quicker than he had any right to be, Baze turned and attacked, bringing Chirrut to the ground. Still, he made an effort to be as gentle as an attacker could; a hand held behind Chirrut’s head to keep him from knocking it, the other at his back to save him any painful bruising. “So soft,” Chirrut told him, even though his smile must have been obnoxious to behold.

“Why are our children running through the house screaming,” Baze asks as he wraps his arms around Chirrut.

Chirrut swats at Baze who’s also trying to reach for the pan, and cocks an eyebrow. “We have children? I just thought I forgot to lock the door when I left for work and strays got in. I’ve never seen those people in my life.”

“Um, hello,” he says, blinking owlishly at him from behind dusty safety goggles. “You’re…Mr. Andor, right? The history teacher?”

“Yes, that’s me,” Cassian confirms, offering him his free hand. “But you can call me Cassian.”

The teacher smiles then, a tiny quirk of his lips that instantly derails Cassian’s train of thought, and he shakes his hand. “Bodhi Rook, chemistry teacher,” he says. “But you can call me Bodhi.”

Things I learned about Cassian and Bodhi from reading the visual guide in a bookshop

-As a child Cassian’s rebel actions include throwing rocks and bottles at stormtroopers: he is petty as fuck

-Bodhi has a nervous tick of fondling his comms device even when it’s not working

-All of the fake names Cassian has used for missions sound like stripper names

-Seriously.

-Willix. Joreth Sward. Fulcrum. Aach. All stripper names.

-Bodhi’s gambling habit seems to have actually been a net positive; it helps him deal with his shit job and has landed him with loads of people in his debt

-Cassian’s middle name is Jeron

-Bodhi is six centimetres shorter and one year younger than Cassian and I’m sure he is constantly reminded of that

-Cassian’s job was so dangerous that the probability of him surviving 20 missions is only 23%

-That statistic is so specific that I know it was K-2so who spent the time to work it out

Okay this is reaaaally short (thank you lack of Bodhi scenes in trailers etc) and a reincarnation au although I hadn’t planned that, but yes. It’s Sniperpilot so that’s something!
