spaghetti and stargazing (brian may x reader)

the early days of queen, you’re a friend of freddies from school and he recruits you to be the hair and make up stylist for queen while also obviously setting you up with brian. which leads to a really cute date

warnings: freddie meddling abhaha, kissing, pressure, awkwardness,

you took a decompressing breath as you stood up from the floor after packing your hair and make up tools to use on the boys. you were excited but nervous you knew it wouldnt be a hard job but the thought of tending to freddies band was alittle daunting. if they were all as flamboyant as freddie she’d need a lot more time pre show to do their hair and make up. she shook those thoughts away and glanced at her outfit in the mirror before walking out the door. you walked to the venue it was quite close to your apartment which made the small treck help you get your mind off things.

you entered the pub and snuck backstage knocking on the dressing room door freddie answered and gave you a big smile pulling you into a hug.

“oh hello y/n!” he cheered and pulled you inside the dressing room before announcing.

“boys meet our new hair and make up stylist!” he gestured to you and you gave a small wave quietly saying.

“hello there.” as you spoke the blonde on the couch perked up and smiled at you smacking a curly haired brunette’s arm to get him to look up from his book as a wavy haired ray of sunshine came up to you and shook your hand.

“john deacon, bassist, nice to meet you.” he gave a toothy grin and the blonde came to his feet walking to you and shaking your hand as well.

“rogah taylah drummer.” he took your soft hand in his calloused one and smiled at you you looked over his shoulder seeing the curly haired one waiting his turn to introduce himself hurriedly whispering trying to rehearse his words. roger walked away from you and the curly haired one shook your hand a nervous smile on his face.

“hi brian may…guitarists!” his face flushed and freddie laughed from next to you which made you giggle slightly.

“so y/n who would you like to start with?” he prompted and you looked at him unsure.

“who wants to go first?” you asked turning the question onto the band and freddie immediately jumped on it.

“i’ll go!” he laughed rushing over to a vanity and sitting on the chair he flipped his long hair. you smiled walking over to freddie and beginning to work on his hair fluffing it and adding more volume. unknown to you the guitarist returned to his seat but instead of reading he watched your every move studying the way you did freddies hair and shamelessly admiring the concentrated look on your face as you finished with his hair quickly and began on his make up giving him the most flamboyant and out there winged eyeliner and letting him choose the lipstick. when freddie finished up in the chair john came next and you did the same thing to his hair as with freddies but spent extra time on his bangs. finishing and applying a generous amount of make up not taking too long you kept your eye on the clock. you and john talked a little making small talk until you finished.

roger got up before brian even registered that deaky was out of the chair and he mentally cursed himself. roger sat down in the chair and you looked at him trying to figure out what look you wanted to do on him.

“take a picture why dont you?” he joked and you rolled your eyes.

“i’m just trying to decide what to do with this rats nest.” you joked back lifting his blonde locks and smiling softly. brian’s blood boiled as he saw the two of you flirting. he tried to plan what he was going to say to you once it was finally his turn.

“so y/n do you have a boyfriend?” roger asked as you brushed out his hair for the first time in god knows how long.

“no i do not.” you laughed gently yanking his hair as you brushed through it he smirked before saying.

“seems like you have a bit of a hair pulling kink hmm?” your face flushed bright red and you stammered out.

“no i-i-i just like doing hair.” you mentally slapped yourself for making such a fool of yourself in front of him. roger sensed your discomfort and backed off.

“just a joke, love.” he reassured aa you finished up his hair applying alittle bit of make up. he really didnt need that much.

“you’re all done.” you smiled at your work before glancing over at the final member. the mysterious, quiet, awkward, tall, cute guitarist, brian.

“you’re up.” you smiled at him feeling yourself begin to relax as you got to know the boys and in turn they got to know you. you stared at brians hair for a while lifting strands here and there trying to find a place to start. he felt alittle nervous as he watched you try and figure out his hair like a math equation he broke the silence.

“sorry my hair is unruly.” he bit the inside of his cheek and you laughed gently running your hands through his hair.

“unruly is an understatement.” you giggled and grabbed a spray bottle getting his hair alittle wet before ruffling the curls and wrapping the ones framing his face around your fingers to give them better shape. his face was red hot as you did his hair and ran your soft fingers through it almost massaging his scalp he glanced over at freddie who was whispering to deaky and glared at him knowing exactly what freddie was talking about just by the look on his face.

you finished up his hair giving it a couple bounces you walked around his chair and grabbed your make up studying his face for longer than you did the other boys. he tried his best to stay still but everything seemed to get itchy and he brought his white painted fingernail up to the side of his jaw scratching nervously before dropping it back in his lap. you smiled softly nodding and grabbing your eyeliner pencil.

“shut your eyes for me.” you mumbled and he complied you leaned very close to his face dragging the black color along his lashline he felt your breath on his face and his hands started to sweat. you finished one eye and moved to the other smiling softly you leaned in closer to him than was necessary. you finished up his eyeliner and leaned back.

“open your eyes please.” you said and your smile grew noticing how his hazel eyes now popped.

“alright now look up.” you said and he tipped his head back. you giggled reaching and tipping his chin back down.

“just your eyes.” you smiled seeing roger, deaky, and freddie all whispering on the couch behind the two of you.

“oh sorry.” he laughed nervously and you came closer to him beginning on his lower liner you smudged it out complimenting his eyeshape you leaned back and nodded looking at your make up you grabbed a lip brush and a nude pink lipstick gathering some cream on your brush.

“part your lips for me.” you mumbled hearing roger giggle behind your hands started to shake and you rested your wrist on brian’s jawline as you applied his lipstick slowly. you finished and he looked in the mirror.

“woah..” he said looking at himself before looking at you. you blushed and smiled proud of your work on brian.

“thank you.” he smiled standing up and walking over to the boys to grab his book you watched him before packing up your things. just as you put your hair tools away you felt freddie grab your hand and hurriedly pull you out of the room quickly shutting the door and smiling like mad at you.

“oh my darling!” he laughed playfully pinching your cheek you looked at him confused.

“you’ve gotten bri wrapped around your finger!” he laughed and you looked at him shocked.

“i do not.” you insisted

“do to!” he laughed.

“do you like him?” he smirked and you waited a moment before giving him a wordless nod.

“great i’ll convince him to ask you on a date after the show tonight!” he cheered and pulled you both back into the dressing room before you could say another word. roger saw you reenter and quickly sat down. freddie rushed over to the only other open seat which just left the loveseat meant for two only occupied by brian at the moment and you looked at freddie who had a grin on his face gesturing for you to sit.

you rolled your eyes walking over and sitting down next to brian. the seat dipped and suddenly your outer thigh touched his and your shoulders pressed against eachother.

“so y/n what else do you like to do other than hair and make up?” roger prompted breaking the peaceful silence of the room.

“i like to read..” you paused and thought or more things you enjoy. “cook, i love animals and sitting on my balcony at night.” you said your voicing gaining more confidence. brian perked up as you spoke setting his book down and listening to you he smiled as you mentioned two things he also loved and roger laughed.

“well how perfect! bri loves animals and the stars!” he looked at deaky raising an eyebrow and you smiled at brian.

“what’s your favorite constellation?” he asked fully nerding out you looked nervous at the question.

“i dont really know any of their names but there’s this really bright star that i do love to look at.” you admitted and he looked at you with so much care in his eyes you flushed. during this conversation freddie hurriedly gathered roger and deaky pulling them out of the room and quietly shutting the door you quickly turned noticing they left you laughed gently and brian took an unsteady breath.

“i dont know why they just ditched us like that.” he brought his hand up to the back of his neck rubbing it you turned back to him and smiled nervously.

“well they probably did that so you could ask me on a date without an audience.” you smiled knowingly at him and his eyes went wide staring at you.

“am i really that obvious??” he laughed and you nodded. he sighed softly putting his face in his hands groaning.

“i’ve never really been that good with girls i’m sorry.” he said and you pulled his hands away from his face turning his chin so you could look at him.

“are you free tommorow?” you asked holding one of his hands still. he nodded and you grinned at him nose scrunching.

“great then its a date.” you leaned over kissing his cheek before standing and walking to the door you opened it revealing that all three of them were leaning against the door attempting to hear your conversation. you laughed and brian stood up laughing as well.

“really guys?” he asked picking up his guitar and slinging it over his shoulder.

“we were just curious what you two would talk about.” deaky laughed walking in and grabbing his base.

“you two are so awkward its perfect.” roger laughed walking over to his drum sticks.

freddie smiled at you,

“so? what did you talk about!” he laughed

“well i’m taking y/n on a date tommorow.” brian interjected before you spoke and smiled at you.

“oh thats absolutely perfect!” freddie cheered and pulled you into a hug whispering.

“you better get ready with me or we are not friends!” you laughed insisting that you would let freddie pick your outfit.

“now go out there and give them a show!” you said excitedly watching the boys exit the room brian lingered before finally going up to you.

“may i have a goodluck kiss?” he asked wringing his hands on the neck of his guitar. you laughed softly and nodded going up on your toes and kissing the corner of his mouth resting a hand on his chest.

“good luck.” you smiled and he hurriedly rushed out of the room following the band adrenaline already pumping you tidied up the dressing room before watching them play from the wings.

the next day you woke up to your phone ringing. you picked up the reciever and groaned softly and in your groggy hoarse morning voice mumbled

“who the hell is it?”

“sorry did i wake you i didnt know you’d still be asleep? its-uh- brian..” brian said worriedly and you quickly smacked yourself on the forehead sitting up.

“you did wake me up but its..” you paused clancinf at the clock

“jesus it’s noon…i’m sorry.” you apologized and he quickly picked up what he rehearsed.

“it’s alright i hate waking up as well, i just wanted to know what our date was for today? am i picking you up and taking you somewhere or are you or is it a night in?” you smiled listening to his voice and melted back into bed

“i think a night in would be nice, do you want to come over at 7:00 i’ll cook you dinner?” you smiled to yourself thinking of having him here with you.

“that’d be lovely is there anything you want me to bring?” he asked looking around his room contemplating bringing flowers.

“just you.” you said softly your voice beginning to wake up to be its normal tone.

“it was nice talking to you.” you add feeling all warm inside you hugged your pillow close to your chest.

“you too y/n, i’ll see you then.” he smiled not wanting to hang up you stayed on the line for a while until he finally hung up.

brian turned away from the phone and glared at freddie who was now burtsting out in laughter.

“what’s so funny?” brian plopped down into his couch crossing his arms.

“just you and y/n, i knew you two would hit it off but wow.. you are like the same person.” freddie smiled and brian leaned back into his couch.

“in what way?” he asked

“you’re both awkward with sudden brave moments which i think is absolutely adorable because you each stand marinating in awkward until one of you makes a small move and the other responds just as giggly and scared.”

rog came in from the kitchen rolling his eyes at freddies description.

“it’s more frustrating than cute.” he sat next to brian turning to him.

“your both so shy you probably wont even kiss til the 3rd date.” he joked teasing brian was always funny. brian felt his cheeks heat up.

“hey we’ve kissed!” brian protested looking at roger unconvincingly.

“the cheek doesnt count.” roger raised an eyebrow at him.

“alright fine, but i like to take things slow so that’s what i plan on doing.” brian mumbled standing up. the phone rang and he darted over. luckily it was you he smiled hearing your voice again.

“hi bri, could you put freddie on the line?” you asked playing with the phone cord as you waited for your kettle to whistle.

“sure but-uh- how did you know he was here?” he asked glaring at freddie who was walking over and listening in.

“i heard him laughing while we were talking.” you giggled softly and that giggle carried over to freddie as brian handed him the phone but he didnt walk away wanting to listen on and what you two talked about while also hearing your voice.

“freddie what do i wear?” you asked exasperated.

“i think you should wear the red dress.” he smirked at brian.

“i don’t know fred… i think that ones too fancy for tonight..” you looked for any reason not to wear the red dress. it was your best dress and you looked amazing in it but it wasnt the most comfortable thing in your closet.

“oh pish posh brian’ll love it.” he encouraged and you flushed.

“if you say so.. what’s his favorite meal?” you asked staring at your kitchen brainstorming what you could make.

“just make some spaghetti and be done.” freddie laughed

“fine, could you hand the phone back to brian for me?” you asked the warm feeling returning to your hands.

“you asked for me?” brian smiled into the phone leaning on the wall.

“yeah i just wanted to say goodbye and that i’m excited for tonight.” you giggled and he let out a small chuckle.

“i am too, i’ll see you then.” he looked at freddie then hung up.

“you are so smitten!” freddie cheered as the phone was hung up and roger laughed from across the room.

“it’s quite cute.” roger said standing.

“i’ve got to head out, dont do anything i wouldnt do.” he winked and left brian’s flat.

freddie spent the rest of the day coaching up brian on everything he knew about you and dressing him.

brian stood outside your door for a few seconds before he finally knocked on the door. you were still hurriedly boiling the noodles and heating up the spaghetti sauce that when you heard the knock on your door all you could do was yell.

“please come in!” you glanced at a mirror in your kitchen quickly fixing your hair and lipstick before returning to your boiling pasta and warming sauce.

brian opened the door walking in slowly he looked around your apartment until his eyes laid on you in the kitchen leaning over the stove multi tasking he clutched the flowers he brought and entered the kitchen smiling.

“am i early?” he asked startling you, you quickly turn around and gasp at the flowers and the well dressed man before you.

“you’re on time, i’m running late.” you smiled taking the flowers from him and grabbing a vase you fill it with water and set the flowers on the counter turning the heat off you drained the pasta and put it back in the pot. you grabbed the plates putting a normal amount of spaghetti on each plate and adding sauce. you turned around to find him still there watching you finish up he took the plates from you.

“i’ll set these down is there anything you need me to do?” he asks.

“grab the bottle of wine from the fridge and bring that to the table please?” you ask taking the dirty dishes to the sink and untying your apron he left sitting at the table and waiting for you. he poured you both glasses of wine and when he glanced up he saw the full red dress and his breath caught in his throat. he quickly set down the wine pulling your chair out for you.

“you look beautiful y/n” he said staring at you. you couldnt help but blush quickly sitting down and smiling at him.

“thank you so much, you look great too.” you said softly and began eating. he started eating as well and you sat in comfortable silence until he spoke up.

“this is really good.” he smiled at you. he had a bit of sauce on his cheek and you laughed reaching over and wiping it off his face he blushed.

“oops.” he smiled taking a sip from his wine. you continued eating and he brought up stories freddie had told him about you and you just laughed giving him your side of the stories as well as a couple extra anecdotes from both him and you being thrown on the table. when you had both finished dinner the sun had gone down and stars had began appearing. you smiled looking out the window and he stood up clearing both of your plates you heard your sink turn on and you quickly got up to find brian doing the dishes.

“brian you don’t have to do that.” you said walking over to him to try and nudge him away from the sink and start doing the job yourself.

“you cooked dinner let me at least help you?” he smiled and you couldnt resist.

“fine.” you giggled and began drying the dishes after he washed them you putting them away as he worked quickly.

“after the dishes do you want to sit outside with me?” you asked and he smiled at you.

“i’d love that.” he said as he finished the final dish, you dried it off and put it away turning to find him behind you. you took his hand pulling him to your small balcony you opened the door and stared up at the night sky. he did the same before letting go of your hand and wrapping his arms around you to keep you warm in the cool night air. you nuzzled into his chest and turned so you were hugging him, you stayed like that for a long time. brian’s heart had slowed down and he relaxed holding you close to him running his hand up and down your arm he kissed the top of your head. you looked up at him and smiled softly going up on your toes and pulling his head down to kiss you. you held onto his neck as he hugged you closer your hair tickling his face as you kissed.

“let’s go inside.” you suggested after pulling away from him. he nodded and pulled you inside. you lead him to your couch sitting down he joined you wrapping his arm around your shoulders you leaned into him and sat there in silence for a while. you felt your eyelids get heavy and you fell asleep your head slowly falling down his chest to lay in his lap. he looked down at you trying to figure out what to do. he picked you up bringing you up to your bed he layed you down but you didnt let go of him. you muttered something half asleep about him joining you. he smiled taking his jacket off and climbing into your bed with you. you wrapped your arms around him and held him close as you slept. he quickly fell asleep.

the next morning you were woken up yet again by the phone ringing but before you could even open your eyes it was gone. you opened your eyes taking in the situation before you. brian was in your bed you were both in your clothes from last night and he was now on the phone.

“who is it?” he asked his morning voice sending chills down yours spine. he noticed you were awake and smiled at you.

“freddie what the hell its 8am talk to her later.” he laughed hanging up the phone and wrapping both of his arms back around you and your shock immediately melted away and you shut your eyes again cuddling into his button up shirt your hair a mess and make up everywhere. there was lipstick all over his shirt and face and you laughed.

“we look like clowns.” you mumbled and brian smiled running his hand up and down your back.

“we can deal with that later let’s sleep a little longer.” he suggested and you nodded cuddling up to sleep more.

two hours later freddie deaky and roger came bursting into your apartment. you slept through it and so did brian. it wasnt until you heard a bunch of impatient knocks on the door that you and brian both sat up groaning.

“who the hell is it?” he called pulling away from you and getting up from the bed. you followed suit pulling your dress down and making sure everything was covered before brian opened the door groaning. all the boys burst out into laughter looking at the scene before them. brian’s shirt was covered in lipstick marks as well as his lips and you looked like you’d been in a blender.

“wow, what have we walked in on here?” deaky questioned and you rolled your eyes.

“i fell asleep with make up on.” you groaned fixing your hair.

“that’s not the only thing you fell asleep on.” roger chortled and you laughed. brian blushed and looked down at his lipstick covered shirt smiling, he wouldnt be washing this.

“alright love birds we need to take brian to rehearse,” freddie said.

“we’ll wait in the kitchen while you pulls yourselves together.” deaky smiled.

“am i coming?” you looked at him confused

“of course.” freddie beamed and pulled roger and deaky down stairs. you looked at brian and giggled walking over to your bathroom and getting a warm wash cloth to remove your make up and freshen up. you handed him a washcloth to wipe the lipstick off his face and you both got ready in soft quiet silence. while he was washing his face you quickly changed your clothes and looked around your closet for atleast a shirt he could wear instead of that one. you found a white button up your ex had left and pulled it out turning to brian.

“this is the only mens wear i have.” you said walking over to him.

“do you want to borrow it for today?” you asked and he wordlessly nodded taking it from you and pulling his stained shirt off he put the new button up on. it wasnt exactly a perfect fit but it covered him where it was supposed too.

“thank you y/n” he said softly as he finished buttoning it up and turned to you with a bright smile. you walked over and wrapped your arms around his neck kissing him gently he rested his hands on your waist smiling into the kiss.

“let’s get downstairs or they’ll think we’re shagging.” you joked pulling away from him and walking out the door brian following you. you entered the kitchen to find the boys eating your left overs from last night and arguing about whether or not brian ‘got some’ last night.

“they were both fully clothed they totally didnt!” roger argued.

“you dont need to be naked to do it rog.” deaky retorted lifting his eyebrows and you laughed walking in the boys faces turning bright red. brian walked over to the kettle stepping on rogers foot and flicking deaky in the head on the way. freddie smiled at you raising his eyebrows to ask you. you shook your head and giggled following brian to the tea. he handed you a cup and made his own.

“we have to leave in 10 minutes to go to the studio to practice.” freddie declared taking a bite of cold pasta and smiling at you. you grabbed an apple handing it to brian so he could have at least alittle bit of breakfast.

“thank you.” he said softly and you began making toast for both you and brian. rog and deaky ate some of your left over pasta as well and you all headed out of the apartment to go to rehearsal your hand in brians the whole way to the van. when you climbed in he wrapped an arm around your shoulders holding you close to him as roger drove the band and you to the rehearsal space.

You Deserve To Be Happy (Brian May x Reader One Shot)

Warnings: Discusses depression at length. PLEASE proceed with caution if this is a sensitive subject for you W/C: 2,300 ish Summary: Dedicated/requested by @a-kind-of-magik “ I’m not great at being specific I’m sorry, but maybe something about a movie night with one of the boys, romantic or not, just super sweet and soft? I honestly love them all, but I do have a soft spot for Ben, Joe, Roger and Brian.

A/N: SO I KIND OF went off prompt a little but I hope this is at least a little similar to what you wanted and that you can enjoy it anyway? ILYSM AND AM HERE FOR YOU BOO. Depression is serious guys so please reach out to a loved one if you need to. It’s been sad boi hours all day so I will have another angst-y sad story out later. It’s done just needs editing. SO ANYWAY I LOVE YOU THANKS FOR READING. oh. btw this will work for either Brian May or Gwilym Lee’s Brian May.

“I’m really just not in the mood to come out tonight Roger,” you whined into the phone.

“What’s wrong? Are you sick?” Roger asked. Were you sick? Not in the traditional sense of the word. You weren’t running a fever, physically you were top-notch. Mentally however, that was a completely different story. You were tired and didn’t have the energy to do things you liked, let alone things you didn’t like.

It wasn’t that you didn’t like going out with Roger and his friends. They were great, Roger’s your best friend but quite often he would leave you sitting awkwardly with the others whom you barely knew.

He was fully aware of your battle with depression, and the quietness on the line told him you were having another flare up.

The Yellow Dress (Brian May x Reader One Shot)

Warnings: I don’t think there are any?  W/C: 2,700 - ish Summary: Super bad at summarizing but this is soft college Bri and him becoming infatuated with a space-loving girl who helped him with 39′. My time line is a little screwy, I know 39′ didn’t come out until later on but we can just pretend. It’s soft and was a fun write. I hope you enjoy it!

A/N: Don’t have much to say part from thank you for your patience! I love you all so much and am so grateful to you! Oh. btw this will work for either Brian May or Gwilym Lee’s Brian May.

Brian walked into the chilled art hall with Roger. It was a Saturday at lunch time and he really felt like he had better things to do apart from play wingman for Roger. It was a roll he often found himself in, but didn’t typically mind. Apart from today, Brian had a big test on Monday and really needed to be studying, but Roger insisted it wouldn’t take long.

“Better be worth the effort Rog,” Brian chided as they walked past artist after artist in search of Roger’s newest flame.

“So worth it, she’s gorgeous, wait until you see. Thanks for coming with me, it means a lot-” Roger stopped when he looked to Brian and realized he was no longer paying attention. Something had caught his eye - or rather someone.

Y/n. She caught his eye. Brian was awestruck, it seemed to him that everything began moving in slow motion, there was an aura that glowed around her when she smiled. He wanted to know her. He had to know her.

psychedelic. (4) | Queen X Reader

Description:  Freddie asks you to be the band’s personal photographer. Still, the band’s first encounter with you attracts them to you, but for different reasons. { photographer! reader }

Paring: { reader x roger taylor } , { reader x brian may } , { reader x john deacon }

Warning: strong use of language, implied drug usage, and drinking

Genre: Romance, Angst, Slice of Life, slight? Humor

note: I didn’t really like how the last chapter came out, so I’m gonna try and fix that by not having everything so rushed.

Chapter - 01. | 02. | 03. | 04.

“What the fuck!” yelled Roger.

You and Brian looked up at Roger surprised. Brian rolled over you as you sat up straight, crawling to find your sweater. Your vision was a bit blurry as you were still drunk. Although your vision and your mind were impaired you didn’t want to look at Roger, afraid of him shaming you. Roger didn’t say anything until Brian sat up and looked at him.

“Are you out of your mind!” yelled Roger, flailing his arms in the air.

Brian felt himself get a headache hearing his blonde friend cry out loud. It was obvious he didn’t know what he was doing himself. You went to sit in front of the van, trying to distract yourself from Roger’s yelling. You didn’t quite grasp what he was yelling at Brian for. Even then, you were too drunk to question anything serious.

Putting your hoodie over your head and your legs pressed to your chest you hoped Freddie and John would come soon. Maybe they would calm Roger and go back to the hotel in a nice ride. Or it could go the opposite and things could end up worse than what they were right now.

You didn’t know if you were embarrassed or turned on by the previous situation. Seeing yourself on the side view mirror, your hair was messy and tangled. Your lips were plump and you could see a hickey being formed on the side of your neck.

You had ignored Roger’s yelling until someone knocked on your window. You jumped up, looking at Freddie who was telling you to roll down the window. You rolled it down real slow.

“Freddie,” You comment came out as a statement.

“Roger, calm down!” yelled John, holding the blonde back.

You looked behind to see the three band members. Roger was ready to go off on Brian as he sat on the edge of the van massaging his forehead. John held Roger back, struggling to keep him in his place. Brian looked at you and you turned your head back to face Freddie.

“Freddie!” You exclaimed, this time processing he was there.

“Whatever is going on!?” exclaimed Freddie.

“I-” You started but quickly shut your mouth before spilling any details. Your face went red and you hid from under your hoodie.

“Hey! Stop causing a ruckus, you twats!” yelled a man from on top of the building.

“Shut up and go to sleep, old man!” Roger spat, loudly.

“Let’s just go home,” you muttered.

You were glad John was driving the van this time. He wasn’t as drunk as the rest of you and therefore was safer for him to drive. Freddie was in the back of the van, watching Brian and Roger. He wanted to ask what had happened to get Roger so angry. John kept giving you side glances also wondering what had happened. Although he wasn’t going to be nosy, he was a private and quiet man and knew better than to ask.

Hating the silence you turned up the radio, putting some soft music. You weren’t ready to deal with the situation just yet. You wanted your mind to wander around at something else. You knew tomorrow morning you would regret everything. Getting to the hotel you were the first one to jump out of the van and straight into your shared room with Freddie.

Roger got out of the van through the back doors and yelled out, “Brian can sleep in the fucking van!” he yelled before slamming the doors.

The van moved by the sheer force and Brian sighed. Freddie squinted his eyes at him.

“What did you do to set him off?” asked Freddie.

“I’m going to sleep,” said John quietly, getting out of the car.

Brian closed his eyes and laid on the seats. “Ask me tomorrow…” he muttered, not wanting to deal with the situation yet.

Freddie shook his head and got out of the van, heading to his room.

You didn’t think twice about jumping straight to your bed and covering yourself in the sheets. The only thing you took off was your shoes and the rest you decided to sleep in without changing. You could hear Roger next room huffing and puffing. Feeling yourself become warm, you took off your sweater and threw it on the ground.

The door in your room opened and closed immediately before hearing footsteps approaching you.

“Oh, no-” You muttered before covering your head.

“What happened?” asked Freddie, sitting on the edge of the bed.

You mumbled something under your breath.

“What?” asked Freddie, getting closer to you.

“You ding mish out on anything,” You said, drunkenly.

“All I know is that you and Brian went to the van alone and Roger started yelling,” stated Freddie. “Wanna elaborate?”

You just groaned, scrunching your face in displeasure. It just hit you what had happened. The worst part was that you got caught making out with Brian by Roger Taylor of all people.

“Darling, whatever happened to you and Brian in the van?” asked Freddie, standing up.

You groaned and faced your back towards Freddie. You weren’t ready to expose yourself yet.

“Noffing!” You slurred on your words. “Dun worry about it.”

“Don’t worry!?” exclaimed Freddie, throwing his hands up in the air. “Roger was screaming like a mad man!”

“Ssh!” You pressed your index finger on your lips. You hiccuped. “You’re too loud!”

“I am not!” yelled Freddie, like a child.

There was banging from the other room. “Keep it down now, will you!?” yelled Roger. “Some people are trying to sleep!”

“Maybe you should take your own advice…” muttered John, quietly.

“Oh, shut it! I don’t want to hear anything from you!” Roger pointed his finger accusingly at his friend.

“I’m just gonna go to sleep…” You yawned. “Maybe when I’m sober, I can fix everything…”

Freddie sighed and rubbed your shoulder before planting a kiss on top of your forehead. He didn’t know what you meant by fixing but the two of you would have a serious talk. You smiled and closed your eyes, quickly falling asleep.

You swore the walls in the hotel were thin. You woke up to the whisperings of Roger and Freddie.

“They what!” exclaimed Freddie, softly.

Roger rubbed his forehead, breathing heavily. “You heard me-!”

“Keep your voice down, the girl is sleeping next room,” said John, sternly.

Roger shot John a glare from across the kitchen before turning around to look at Freddie. You decided to stay in your bed, refusing to go back to sleep and listen to their conversation. You were still a little drunk but could comprehend more than you did just a few hours ago.

“But-” Freddie cut himself off trying to find the right words. “Are you sure?”

Roger questioned his friend. “What do you mean, ‘am I sure’? I was right there when I saw it, I opened the back doors of the van. Caught them red handed.” He states, setting his cigarette in between his lips.

Freddie stared down at the floor. “I don’t believe this-”

“Even after hearing it from me?” Roger asked. He shot his friend a suspicious look.

“Not that, Roger!” exclaimed Freddie, before falling on John’s bed.

John was still in the kitchen staring at Freddie. He brought his cup of tea onto his lips, sipping it before sitting on the round table on the corner.

“If she and Brian did ‘make out’ and were on the verge of-” Freddie tried to finish his sentence.

“Shag,” said Roger, simply.

“Yeah, if they were going to do it… Why Brian?” asked Freddie, staring up at the ceiling.

Both you and John chocked on air upon hearing this. The three of them didn’t stay quiet, hoping you weren’t awake hearing their conversation. You were closing your eyes shut as if Roger, John, and Freddie were in the same room.

“That’s a new one you’ve pulled, Freddie,” said Roger, more quietly.

“I didn’t mean it in a bad way,” Freddie made a face. “It’s just that [Name] wouldn’t just shag someone she barely knows. She’s a virgin.”

You frowned.

“[Name] is going to wait until her true love comes…” whispered Freddie. “She’s sensitive, which isn’t a bad thing necessarily.”

“But she didn’t do anything, what’s there to be sensitive about?” asked John, laying on the wall.

“She’ll feel like she wronged Roger and Brian for pulling that stunt, not to mention that she shared her first kiss with Brian,” said Freddie.

Roger bit his bottom lip, feeling a little guilty for his outburst. “Well… It wasn’t her fault,” started Roger. “She was drunk… Besides, I’m not mad at her.”

John and Freddie looked at Roger with a stoic face. There were a few minutes of silence.

“Are you really interested in [Name]?” asked Freddie, looking at his blonde friend.

Roger was at a loss for words and didn’t answer right away.

“Not an answer, dear,” Freddie sat up.

“Yeah,” Roger licked his lips. “Yeah, I am.”

“For a relationship?” pressed Freddie.

“Not that far either,” scoffed Roger.

“Then it won’t happen,” stood up Freddie. “[Name] won’t just shag you because you’re hot, Roger. She has respect for herself and not ready to deal with the emotional repercussions of sleeping with someone that isn’t in love with her.”

“I didn’t mean it like that either…” muttered Roger. “I respect her a lot and find her extremely attractive. A fun person to be around but I don’t think I’m ready to be in a relationship yet.”

“Whatever you choose, be careful how you treat her,” warned Freddie, leaving the room.

He came back into your shared room and noticed you sleeping soundly. Freddie wasn’t aware that you had heard halfway of their conversation before randomly falling asleep. Although, it was a good thing you did. It was better to keep things the way they were without you knowing too much.

You instantly woke up, feeling everything you drank from last night come right back up. You quickly threw the bed sheets aside and ran towards the bathroom, holding your hand close to your mouth. You removed your hand upon arriving at the toilet and threw up. Your eyes were starting to get watery and you were coughing. You heard the door of the hotel room open and close.

“Freddie…” You moaned in pain, holding your hand to your forehead. “Everything hurts!”

Freddie grabbed a glass of water and walked into the bathroom. He handed you the glass of water, looking at you up and down. You drank from it and set it to the side on the floor.

“How’s your morning so far, dear?” asked Freddie, sarcastically.

You shot him a glare as you closed your eyes and laid on the cold wall.

“Bad,” You said simply.

“You were having an awful lot of fun last night getting drunk,” laughed Freddie.

“And you didn’t bother helping me out…” You muttered, coughing.

“You want to stay?” asked Freddie, kneeling down as he gently patted your back.

You contorted your face in displeasure. “No way, you guys got a gig to go to.” You muttered.

“Oh, but look at you! You’re a mess!” exclaimed Freddie.

“No, no, no…” You said, shaking your head. “I’m fine, just a little queasy. You can pull off to the side of the road and I can throw up.”

Both you and Freddie laughed.

“What happened last night?” asked Freddie.

He had caught you off guard you could feel yourself choke up. You knew he wasn’t going to let it go anytime soon. You were going to bring up the excuse of not wanting to be exposed. Still, Roger thought differently and spilled everything.

“I was very drunk…” You whined, hesitant about the situation. “As far as my impaired mind can remember…”

You were figuring out the right words to form and not be as blunt as Roger. Freddie raised his eyebrows.

“I might’ve made out with your friend…” You said, biting your bottom lip.

Freddie gave you a surprised look.

“But I was drunk, I wasn’t thinking!” You said, trying to defend yourself. “I’m sure Brian was as well! It was in the moment type of situation!”

Freddie didn’t say anything for a moment. “Do you regret it?” He asked, licking his lips.

“I don’t remember the feeling…” You said disappointed in yourself. “I’m sure it must’ve felt nice…”

“There’s nothing to be ashamed of, y’ know?” said Freddie. “Frankly, the boys and I have done much much worse than you.”

You whistled. “Freddie gets attention from the ladies?” You said playfully.

“Hard to believe, dear?” smirked Freddie.

You gave him a surprised look. “That Mary girl, she’s pretty attractive and seems interested in you. Go for it.”

“Who said I wasn’t?” asked Freddie.

You chuckled before holding your stomach, feeling nauseous again.

“You sure you don’t want to stay?” asked Freddie.

“I’ve been going to school feeling worse than this, I think I’ve got my ground,” You said, standing up.

“That’s right, actually forgot about that,” Freddie rubbed his nose with his thumb. “Didn’t you have a high fever once? I remember the teacher told you to go back home. You refused and said you didn’t wanna miss the test.”

“I know… Now I’m missing three days of school and possibly more…!” You groaned, washing your face. “I look horrible, I’m going to have to take a shower.”

“Please do,” said Freddie. “We’re just waiting for the others to wake up. If you don’t want to face them right now, I can go tell them.”

You fixed your hair before looking at Freddie. “No, it’s fine,” You sighed. “I just don’t want any awkward tension. Don’t worry about me, you already got enough on your plate.”

Freddie gave you a kiss on the back of the head before leaving the bathroom.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

The trip was the same as always. You and John were in the front of the van while the other three were in the back of the van. Roger, Brian, and Freddie were in the back playing Scrabble. You and Brian hadn’t talked the entire morning. You had assumed it was because he had regretted last night. In reality, it was the complete opposite. Before going out, Freddie had a talk with Brian telling him not to make things awkward between you and him.

Brian took it the opposite way and thought Freddie didn’t want him to associate with you at all. Roger wasn’t as distant as Brian, dropping in hello in the morning. Still, he also didn’t talk much to you, not wanting to make you uncomfortable.

The tension between Roger and Brian was still there. It was thanks to Freddie that nothing escalated far. That, however, didn’t stop Roger from glaring at the guitarist and throwing a shady comment his way. You didn’t pay much attention as you decided to listen to the radio and make small chat with John.

It was going fine until the car stopped. Now you were all stranded in the middle of nowhere surrounded by land and farms. You were in the back of the van, the doors open to let some air in. You were fixing your camera while the others were outside. Brian walked by the doors and watched you.

“You doing good there?” asked Brian, finally working up the courage to talk to you.

You almost dropped your camera, startled by his sudden talk. “Y-yeah,” You stuttered, flipping your hair back. “Are you guys hungry? I only got these snacks from the vending machine at the hotel.”

“No, thank you,” smiled Brian. You gave him a warm smile back before he turned around.

“It’s… It’s counterclockwise I think you’ll find, John,” said Brian, walking past his friend. John was having a hard time trying to unscrew the bolts from the tire.

“Oh is it? Thank you, Brian, would you like to do it? Please feel free,” retorted John.

“No, no, no, you’re doing a good job,” Brian set his hands up as John gave him an annoying side glance.

You heard Roger complaining about being stuck in the middle of nowhere and eating a ham sandwich. You quietly laughed as you changed the ink on your camera before getting off the van.

“The problem is we’re not thinking big enough,” said Freddie.

“What do you got in mind, Fred?” asked Brian, hands in his pocket.

“An album,” he replied quickly.

“We can’t afford an album,” panted John in exhaustion.

“Oh, we’ll find a way…” Freddie looked out at the field. “How much do you think we can get for this van?”

Brian and Roger stared at Freddie in disbelief.

“I hope you’re joking,” said Roger, seriously.

A flashing light appeared in front of them. You raised your camera down and waved your hand.

“Sorry,” You said without shame.

“What you take a picture for?” asked Freddie.

“Well…” You started, laying on the side van. “If we die here there will at least be evidence of where we were.”

“You’re being awfully dramatic, darling,” chuckled Freddie, rubbing his nose. “We’re not gonna die.”

“How ironic you call me dramatic…” You murmured, watching the polaroid come out of your camera.

“So, what are we gonna do?” asked Roger, flailing his arms. “We’ve got a gig to do tonight.”

“Maybe try helping me out for starters,” John said sassily.

Roger shot John a glare.

“I’ll help out,” You said, taking off your sweater.

“You don’t have to, John’s got it,” said Brian, shaking his head.

“At least she’s trying to help,” sighed John. “I just need to get the tire off.”

“Well, let’s get started…” You said, wrapping your sweater.

“You sure you know what you’re doing?” asked Roger, worried about the van.

“My father taught me a few things on cars,” You said, taking off your camera strap. “If I don’t know John will teach me and we’ll get things done quickly. Besides, I’m a quick learner.”

You winked at the boys before going to the back of the van.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It took a while to get the lug nuts out of the tire. Mostly because you and John weren’t exactly physically built. You swore whoever tightened the lug nuts was stronger than you and the band members combined. After some time, you and John were able to successfully take off all the lug nuts and change the tire.

Roger stood behind you and John as he watched his friend stumble to change the tire. He wanted to make sure nothing happened to the van although it didn’t matter much now. Freddie was planning on selling it, Roger couldn’t convince him otherwise.

Watching you help John, he noticed how he became nervous. He would often stumble and nervously laugh. Roger didn’t think far into it until he realized how John would look at you.

“And that’s that,” smiled John, shyly.

You looked at your hands, now dirty from changing the tire. You turned John’s hands and saw how dirty his were too.

“Look,” You giggled, pointing at your dirty hands.

John gulped nervously as he felt you lean on him. It’s not like he was nervous around girls. In fact, he had a couple of flings here and there like anyone else in the band. Although those were people he barely knew and didn’t have close connections with one of his friends.

After last night’s incident, it seemed like you were off the market. Not only were you Freddie’s best friend, which was a problem within itself. John wasn’t ready to involve himself in fights with his friends for a girl. Especially seeing how aggressive Roger had gotten.

He cleared his throat and you looked at him, embarrassed. You didn’t notice he was being uncomfortable.

You scooted away from John. “Sorry,” You said, dusting off your hands. You turned to look at Roger. “Seems like everything is fixed now!”

You got inside the van and John got up dusting his hands off.

“What was that?” asked Roger, squinting his eyes at John

“What was what?” asked John.

“I’m not an idiot,” said Roger. “You were staring at her.”

“Hm,” John nodded. “Am I not allow to look at females now?”

“Yes, but… You were giving her puppy eyes every time she talked,” said Roger. “You wouldn’t happen to be interested in her too now?”

John gave his blonde friend a stoic look. He didn’t think Roger would be insecure about a girl who he knew for a few days. Although he couldn’t exactly blame him, there was something charming about you.

“No,” he lied, grabbing the tools and getting inside the van.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

You were standing in the corner watching the band play. You were enjoying yourself despite being alone. You felt someone’s body press your back, leaning your forward. It had caught you off guard but you picked yourself up.

“Sorry, ma’am!” exclaimed the man, laughing.

You shook your head. “It’s fine,” You said, awkwardly.

“You enjoying the performance?” He asked, excited.

Looking at the man, you could tell he was drunk. You were a bit uncomfortable, reminding you of the time you were drunk.

“Yeah!” You yelled. “What about you?”

“Having so much fun!” He screamed as you held your hand on your ear.

You gave him a side glance before going back to see the band playing.

“Oi! Are you from here!?” the man yelled once again.

“No!” You yelled back, now irritated.

“Oh! I thought you were!” He exclaimed. “By the way, my name is Matthew! And I thought you were from here cause I swore I’ve seen you!”

“No,” You replied blankly. “I’ve never been here, first time…”

“Really!?” Matthew stopped moving around, focusing his attention to you now. “You look like my girlfriend’s friend. Got the same cute looks and everything!”

You blushed a little, this time avoiding seeing Matthew. You had now understood how John felt when you got a little too close to him. Although you were flattered that a stranger had called you cute. It felt weird being complimented seeing as you were never used to hearing someone do it to you.

It didn’t help that your face was glowing red and you didn’t want to give off the impression that you found this random attractive.

“So,” Matthew pressed on. “If you ain’t from here. The drummer boy over there must be your boyfriend.”

You gave him a dirty look, not knowing if he was implying something.

“What do you mean?” You asked. In your tone, it was evident his comment didn’t sit well with you.

“Yeah, drummer boy over there has been staring ever since we’ve started talking,” He pointed at Roger, not taking his eyes off the performance.

You turned your head to look at Roger, seeing as he was looking at your direction but quickly looked away. You looked down at your feet, hoping it was nothing to worry about.

After the performance had ended, you immediately went to sit on an empty table. You knew it would take some time for the band to get off the stage. You watched as Roger excused himself to go to the bathroom.

Freddie walked up to you, pushing the crowd away from him. “[Name],” smirked Freddie.

If you didn’t know Freddie by now, you would be clueless about why he was smirking. “Yes?” You asked.

“You were talking to a boy,” Freddie raised his eyebrows.

“I didn’t know I was talking to a boy,” You said sarcastically, laughing. “It was nothing. Just someone that confused me with his girlfriend’s friend.”

“Oh, [Name], dear,” groaned Freddie, grabbing a chair and sitting next to you. “You always attract the boring guys that are in relationships already.”

You looked at John and Brian who were surrounded by females. It surprised you that they had already grown a following despite performing once. You couldn’t imagine how bigger their following would get if they turned famous.

“Yeah,” You said, looking back at Freddie.

“Do you like one of them?” He asked.

You were startled by his question. “Who?” You tried playing it off cool.

“You know what I’m talking about,” sighed Freddie.

You gave him a look before shaking your head. “No, no, no!” You said. “They’re all great but-”

“You’re not to that point yet?” Freddie finished you off.

You pursed your lips together. “Listen, they’re really great and if one of them turned out to be my partner later on… I would be amazed! I just don’t want anyone to fight over me.”

You made a face after realizing what you just said. You planted your face on the table.

“I sound like a self-centered bitch…” You groaned. “They probably don’t even think of me in that way.”

Freddie raised his eyebrows in disagreement.

“Don’t worry,” said Freddie, squishing your cheek. “The right guy will come to you.”

Brian and John came towards the table.

“You guys are ready to go now?” asked Brian.

“Yeah, but Roger is still in the bathroom,” said Freddie. “We have to wait for him.”

You yawned as you got up from your seat. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom. I’ll be right back.”

You walked away and disappeared into the crowd. You made your way into the bathroom but you came to a sudden halt. You had accidentally bumped into Roger as he got out of the bathroom.

“Oh, sorry,” You apologized, stepping aside.

Roger sniffed, rubbing his nose before licking his lips in a seductive manner. “Did you come looking for me?” He asked, smirking down at you.

You felt your chest rising to see him like this. “Um…” You stumbled on your words. “I just wanted to go to the bathroom real quick.”

Roger let go of your wrists as he rubbed his hands on his face tiredly. You could tell he was acting a bit odd.

Roger sniffed once again. “Yeah,” He replied.

You had realized now why he was acting differently. He got close to you, fixing his blonde hair.

“Do I look good?” He asked. His eyes were lazily focused on you.

“Y-yeah,” You stuttered.

“So…” He started as he put his hand under his shirt to touch his chest. “How did you like the performance?”

“I enjoyed it,” You replied quickly.

“I can see you did…” He mumbled. “We noticed that you made a new friend here.”

“Is that why you’ve been staring at me the entire time I talked to him?” You asked, sudden confidence in your voice.

“It’s hard not to notice a cute girl who’s on the same trip as us,” Roger flirted. You could tell he has been drinking a little.

Your face grew red, trying to find the right words to say something.

“You get easily flustered when someone compliments you, I’ve noticed,” states Roger, bringing your chin up. “Usually I like girls who are more confident but you’re captivating for some reason.”

You played with the zipper of your sweater. You didn’t know whether he was being truthful or if this was one of his tactics to get you in bed.

“Sorry about my outburst last night,” Roger apologized, his face close to yours. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”

You didn’t say anything.

“Seeing your best mate and the girl you kind of fancy isn’t a pretty sight?” confessed Roger.

You were understandably confused by this. “What do you mean?” You asked.

Roger shut his mouth, wondering what words to form. Before he could say anything someone walked past. You both turned to look at the man who was giving you side glances before entering the bathroom. Roger gave the man a scowl before turning his head back to you. He had barely noticed your back was pressed on the wall. You were cornered nearby the water fountains.

“Did you enjoy it?” asked Roger, looking you up and down.

“Enjoyed what?” You asked. You knew full well what he was insinuating.

You never imagined you’d be trapped in a situation like this. No one had ever been interested in you back in America. Much less in England, which had resulted in Freddie making fun of you in early years.

You weren’t dumb. You knew your answer would go both ways, bad or good. It was clear Roger wanted an answer that benefited him. Tell him that you didn’t enjoy what happened last night. Although you weren’t ready to come to terms with that yet.

You didn’t know what to do but a sudden wave of confidence urge through your body. You rested your hands on the sides of Roger’s cheeks, pushing him towards you. You set your lips on him, hoping he wouldn’t be startled by it. It didn’t take long before he took the lead, sending you to paradise.

He set his arms to your sides, caressing them as you snaked your arms around his neck. Roger kissed your neck, his breathing getting faster. It was a rush he’d never imagined having. He felt like you were surrendering yourself to him but you weren’t. Although you were enjoying this as much as he was this wouldn’t go any further.

At least not yet.
