Memento mori is a Latin phrase that may be freely translated as "Remember that you are mortal." "Remember you will die."

supporting palestinian armed resistance is a must. absolutely imperative. theres no halfway about being for a free palestine and freedom of palestinians. not fighting back is a death sentence and not supporting them fighting back is you siding with the oppressor but quietly & hoping you can wait it out until theyre all killed and displaced by israel so you can go back to not caring again. fuck all that. fuck everyone who condemns people fighting back against usamerican imperialism and its rotten settler colonial extensions in the world. fascism will fail and palestine will be free inshAllah

As a young boy in school, Masaki Sashima would be dragged out of his classroom and beaten by his fellow students.

Masaki, now 72, was different to the other kids.

He was Ainu, an Indigenous people from the country's northern regions, most notably the large island of Hokkaido.

"During recess, the hallway door would open, and several guys would yell at me to come out," he said.

"I clung to my desk in the classroom and kept quiet.

"Everyone would surround me and beat me."

Japan has long portrayed itself as culturally and ethnically homogenous, something that some have even argued is a key to its success as a nation.

More than 98 per cent of Japanese people are descendants of the Yamato people.

But the Ainu are distinct, with their own history, languages, and culture.

But, as the victims of colonialism, assimilation, and discrimination, much of that identity has been lost.

An Ainu woman named Chiri Yukie wrote down some of her people's oral traditions into Japanese because, as a child, her people were being displaced by Japanese settlers in Hokkaido. Her language was disappearing, so she (ironically) saw translating the stories into Japanese as a way to preserve them. She died at age 19.

good morningggg it's time for everyone's favorite recurring segment "navigator sees a post that pisses it off and tries to sleep it off but it was just so bad that he needs to post quasi-queer discourse to take his mind off of it".......anyways if somebody says "don't make fun of people who use xenogenders/microlabels/etc" and you reply with something like "yeah but maybe they'd be better off not identifying with those things........they can do what they want but that's so unhealthy..............." i'm going to bite you!! i know it's shocking but your experiences aren't universal and some people actually *do* feel more comfortable using a ton of labels to describe their queer experience and saying something that reads like "i'll support them but do they really have to do that :(" behind their backs is just really shitty. it's literally just like saying "i'll use it/its if those are your pronouns but i don't like to because it feels dehumanizing" like why does your support of identities you consider "weird" have to come with a footnote of why you personally find them icky. it's just so offputting to me

many games can be slotted into multiple genres and many gamers play and adore lots of (sub)genres. try to narrow down to your ultimate favourite!

if i listed your favourite game in a certain genre and you think it fits better into another, don't worry about it, it's just a silly little poll! ^_^

i made this poll because i didn't like a different one on the same topic that's cirulating, hopefully this fits more genres that are well liked on tumblr!

all roads lead back to otasune for me. like even in 2020 when i wasn't into mgs seeing fanart of them played a part in my trans/gay awakening (a relatively small one cuz it was mainly me getting all Ough and feeling a sense of yearning/envy that i didn't know how to describe at the time but still. A Part!) and to this day even as mgs is a more minor interest of mine whenever i remember them i get all soft and even feel more comfortable in my own skin if i'm dealing with some kind of dysphoria/internalized homophobia at the moment.......they're like home to me lolol

do you ever convince yourself that something that feels like it could exist actually existed and then get so distraught when it doesn't actually exist. idk if i'm making any sense here but like a few weeks ago i somehow became convinced that there was an official colbert report nendoroid because it felt like something that would've happened during the show's run but then i looked through good smile's whole nendoroid archive thing and found nothing and felt so disappointed

as the eurovision final takes place this year, please take this time to instead please reblog, and donate (if you can) instead of watching:

please also reblog other aid posts (especially recent ones), or flood the tag with posts about palestine. this doesn't have to be just donation posts, but also information and updates on rafah/gaza. anything helps and make sure not to give eurovision your view or your vote! do not take your eyes off rafah.

please boost, and add other resources and links to this post.

truly will never get over the fact that L from death note was designed specifically to be unattractive in contrast to the pretty boy looks of light, but in order to achieve that they just made him look like a pale emoboy with too much eyeliner. in the 2000s. what did they expect

The whole "I don't listen to rap" wave making a return makes me wonder like. Do you guys listen to any band that's fronted by a person of color? Like, go ahead, name one metal band you listen to that's fronted by a person of color. Maybe not even metal, it could be pop, indie, punk, whatever. Congrats, you BEGRUDGINGLY listened to Kendrick Lamar past the diss tracks, have you made other efforts to decolonize your music tastes? And don't give me the shit of "It's so hard to find Black/Latino/Asian/Native fronted bands!" You could literally just fucking look it up. Like I'm not your fucking encyclopedia for this shit, neither are other people of color. You wanna prop yourself up as a "revolutionary punk" and "anti-racist"? Stop using us as a fucking crutch for recommendations because we're frankly all fucking tired of it
