just a little update

you might’ve noticed that this blog’s posting has drastically slowed down. the queue i’d built up has run dry, and now it just periodically spits out stuff whenever i come across it, lol.

i don’t plan to delete this blog -- i’ve had it this long and i don’t foresee shutting it down at this point, not when i have waaay less active blogs that i still hang onto, lol. it will continue to be pretty gifsets/art/etc of musicals i like, when i come across them!

i’ve also officially decided to leave the fic cages or wings (remember that ol’ number from 2017?) incomplete. i’ve left a pretty long explanation in the author’s note at the end of the work! not that i owe one to anyone, lol, but i did promise pretty hard that i was going to finish it, so sorry about that, if anyone was somehow still waiting on it.

if we’re mutuals and you want to stay in touch as this blog is less active, send me a message and i’ll let you know where else i’m at! i’m active elsewhere on tumblr, but i prefer to keep things separate.

thanks for hanging in there with me! again, i’m not really going anywhere, and i still love y’all, it’s just gonna be a lot quieter content-wise.

gendercensus

The 2022 Gender Census is now open!

The ninth annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2022.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, retweet this tweet, boost this Mastodon post, check out this post on Reddit, share this Facebook post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful - it’s what helped us get 44,000 responses last year.

The survey is open to anyone anywhere who speaks English and feels that the gender binary doesn’t fully describe their experience of themselves and their gender(s) or lack thereof.

Thank you so much!

waiting in deep suspense

Psst you ready here comes the secret

Here it comes

I am also very curious about this secret

Your time spent enjoying the creative process is infinitely more valuable that any final project you create. So stop putting yourself down for never finishing or posting those WIPs because every moment you spent creating something you loved is a moment not wasted. Your progress and talent is measured by your passion not your number of posts.

This post went from 3k to 7k overnight and that just goes to show how many of you need to hear this so make sure you don’t ever forget it
