Sky was totally into the Japanese Power Rangers growing up. He had all of them on DVD, had action figures, t-shirts, all of it. They’re all still stored in his bedroom at his old house, which his mother kept for him despite their falling out. He won’t admit it, but after a long day, he’ll watch a few episodes to relax and laugh. It’s his little guilty pleasure that he tells no one about. The last person who he told was Dru (before they got together) and Dru teased him mercilessly for it (jokingly at first, but then not so jokingly after they got together).

the tiger finally pulls away, just enough to half-drag merrick to his bedroom where he pushes him on to the bed. tommy crawls over him, but merely settles himself in merrick’s lap like some overgrown cat, needing the simple comfort of holding someone && being held.

Merrick is surprised when he’s pulled into Tommy’s room and thrown onto the bed. But he can’t help but smile as Tommy settles into his lap, arms wrapping snugly around him. He strokes Tommy’s hair, humming softly.

tommy, who’s always been so strong even before the war – seems so much like a small boy in merrick’s arms – body really trembling now, legs threatening to no longer hold the man’s weight as he clings almost desperately to merrick.

“C’mon, let’s go sit down,” he murmurs into Tommy’s ear. “I’m not going anywhere. You and I can spend all night talking and cuddling and all of that good stuff. You don’t have to be alone anymore.”

tommy doesn’t even realize that he’s mumbling soft apologies over && over as the strong ranger all but crumbles in merrick’s arms – voice thick && raw with things he’s still holding back.

“Sssh, sssh.” His voice is soft, his lips brushing against Tommy’s ear. “It’s okay, Tommy. It’s okay. I promise you, it’s all gonna be okay.”

tommy lets his head drop to the crook of merrick’s neck, feeling like someone had peeled back his tough exterior to leave every nerve exposed && raw && merrick’s arms around him are the only thing that keep him from completely losing himself as the tears finally slip down scarred cheeks.

Merrick runs his fingers through Tommy’s hair, every touch tender. He can’t get enough of how it felt to have him back, his arms wrapped tightly around him. He lovingly kisses the top of Tommy’s head, fingers still in his hair.
