(Tentative) Dates for Appreciation Weeks Next Year!

This year's lineup of weeks was amazing and we got a LOT of art and fic and creative stuff from the fandom, as well as incredible support from the fandom and fan community blogs! 💖💖 I know that it's often hard to get content ready for these weeks for all of y'all, especially when some weeks are arranged back to back, so we (my amazing co host @sazanes and I) do try to space them out as much as we can with every passing yead.

Thinking of changing around some dates for AWs next year:

Lily - July 5th - 9th (Video Games Day)

Day 5 - Friendships/Relationships/AU - Cordonian Waltz

This is one of the scenes I love the most in The Royal Romance. I shiver every time I play… These words from Liam awakened in Sophie the courage to not give up on him, to open her heart and to live this love.

Day 4 - Childhood/Family - “Sophie’s Liams” 

“After Howie’s birth, Sophie joked that the children were Liam’s clones, one day inspired by this joke Liam decided to make a photo of “Sophie’s Liams” for her birthday. Now all of Sophie’s birthday party, Liam and the kids dress the same and Sophie for being a doting mother and always in love with her King, loves this game that has become a small family tradition.”

KLAW: Day 4 Post—Childhood/Family

The island of Corsica, 

Mediterranean sea, 

France. 

The first rays of the rising sun kissed the peak of Monte Cinto igniting the deep red of the granite and then bowed at its foothills before bathing the valley of Lozzi. With the thick backdrop of chestnut forests and the evergreen sheet of the shrubs, the village of Lozzi brightened to its glory. The fragrance of the flowers of the Maquis carried far out across the land as life stirred awake on the “Scented Isle.” 

Savannah was already up on her toes, hastening through her morning chores before she reached her workplace. 

It had been a couple of years since she left Cordonia and had made her little abode on this island. She had no regrets, no complaints. With her qualifications she was able to pick up a job that helped her manage her expenses in Corsica. Moreover, she was grateful for having a reason to live. A reason to look at the world through the innocent blue eyes of her little munchkin. She thanked the Almighty in her prayers and then got ready for the day. 

After a couple of hours, she walked down a curved path to a cream building that had a dull blue board with a large print of 'Middle school of Moltifao'. This was where she had found her happiness. She was re- living her childhood teaching history lessons to some ten year olds here. She entered a modest room decorated with hand made amateur charts. 

Twenty one curious little minds were eagerly waiting in that room for an interesting story from their teacher, whom they adored. They were all delighted to see her and so was she.

Except, the topic for the day was a bit difficult for her to deal with. It was going to bring back memories of her 'Prince Charming' and so much more. But, 'the show must go on' she thought and began…

City lights illuminated the royal motorcade as Liam gazed out the window and toyed with Jade's wedding band while holding her hand. The last time he was here, he kept wondering if he would come back with her again to have another late night stroll. He wondered if he'd ever be as in love as he was then and if things didn't work out, he'd be happy to back. Every stone in the streets, every tree, every bush, every lock attached to the Pont Des Arts railing, even the waters of the Seine were their witnesses. Every part of city knew how he felt that night. Paris would never be the same to him again.

Pairing: Queen Eleanor & Prince Leo + Liam (mother-sons/siblings), Leo x Damien (mentioned in RoE) (romantic), Liam & Jason (OC) (platonic).

Summary: Liam notices Leo's friendship with Damien, their gardener's eldest son, becoming stronger.

Series: Eleanor's Kitchen

Note: Damien (not Nazario from PM!) has been mentioned in this scene in Rules of Engagement, Book 2. I played fast and loose with the timelines for this backstory, and have given Damien a younger brother who was Liam's age.

This chapter takes place almost a year following Ch 3. Liam is now 8 years old, Leo is 15.

Chapter 4: Garídes Saganáki

Liam greets the salt air that briefly kisses his face, and the sand that pools around his toes at the beach, with a sense of homecoming. This beach has felt as much like his home as the palace he was born in, suffused with memories of sandcastles and uniquely-shaped seashells and the rush of excitement that came every time a wave crashed against the shore.

And most of all, it feels like home for the moments long past. For the rare times both he and Leo did things together, back when Leo actually liked taking him along for things. When his talk was actually more talk and less eyerolling and "oh you're too young to understand". The love is still there, and so is the need to protect each other (especially against Father's acid remarks, usually aimed at Leo) - just...the companionship isn't, any longer.

The brunette’s shirt read “most likely to get drunk” and Liam was pretty sure she was already there.

“Look what I found!” she crowed to no one in particular.

“Is he a stripper?” the only redhead in the group asked as she peered closer at him.

“What? No!” he protested, “I’m a pri- a prince…i..pal…principal, yeah, that’s what I am!”

“Oh, what kind of school? High school?”

“Sure.”

“So cool! I remember high school!” the brunette chirped.

“Course you do!” the redhead quipped, “It was only like six years ago and if memory serves, didn’t you have a thing for the principal?”

This one was from @tessa-liam and is for Liam x Dark x Fall so she gets partial credit/blame for me launching a whole new series. (Maybe a miniseries, we'll see how it goes)

A/N 2: Special shoutout to @bebepac for letting me borrow the name Nicolai for one of Liam's middle names. It's one of my favorite names!

The citizens of Cordonia viewed their younger prince with equal parts fascination and fear.

Liam Nicolai Ulysses Augustus Rys was striking in appearance. He had an almost otherworldly beauty and grace about him.

Some of the older, more superstitious, citizens swore he had an ethereal glow about him in the right lighting.

His pale complexion was no surprise. It was a family trait he shared with both his father and his older brother.

What set him apart from the rest of his family, and made for a striking contrast, was his raven black hair and eyes the color of coal.

No human has truly black eyes, just shades of brown so dark they appear black.

But then, Liam was not precisely human.

Our Appreciation Week for 2023 has come to an end! And oh gosh, what a week it has been!!

This response this year has been AMAZING!! On our last count we had 55 pieces (and 74 if you count the throwback works!) and what an incredible range. Fics, art, commissioned art pieces, animations, promo videos - the works!! You guys really went ham and bacon on this week and gave us all SO MUCH to think about and remember. It's been incredible seeing the amount of talent and enthusiasm this fandom has for Liam 💙💙💙

However, our week isn't over yet! For everyone who faced time crunches, or couldn't get their pieces out...we are keeping our week open till the 29th of April! Do consider sending an entry. We will also be taking in stuff after the week is over - this is just to ensure we include everyone in our special Thank You video when we wrap up the week.
