i can see this being barty and regulus. like whenever they get hurt it’s almost instinct to search for the other to help. it’s rooted in their trust in each other, regulus knows that barty’s hands would never touch him in a way he hates, that he’d die before being the reason regulus flinches away from his hands. it’s almost overwhelming, the amount of love that floods him as he feels barty’s careful touch.

barty loves getting in little confrontations with idiots to get scraped up and have regulus tend to him. have his eyes constantly on him, scanning his body for any missed hurts. he may look mad with his frown and slight glare but the truth is in his touch, cautious, tender because he wants barty to feel that rush of love too.

I’m sorry but bartylus will forever remain in my heart as the young teenage couple who married the moment they got out of college, maybe even earlier.

They met in elementary and were unofficially dating from 7th grade to freshman year of high school until Barty loudly shouted out “THAT’S MY BOYFRIEND FUCKFACE!” When some dude insulted Regulus’ overly pretentious attitude. They were never seen separated and are often found in the halls holding hands and getting food together, they share a locker so people often see Barty getting snacks from Regulus’ locker, and spend their free period in each other’s classes so much so that the teachers just accept the extra student.

Sirius runs away and Barty is with him nonstop that he tries to switch his classes to be with him, but only stops cuz it’s too late in the semester. They get engaged during graduation and run away in the middle of the night to elope and officially cut off their family (except Mrs Crouch) when they enter college.

They are the messy and sleazy married couple with the deepest and loyal love for each other, it’s just a little hard to tell with the bickering. They have 2 cats and German shepherd who they treat better than anyone else and Barty makes vulgar comments when older people comment on how young they married.

They spent their honeymoon going around restaurants and fake proposing to get free deserts before heading back to their tiny apartment and basically disappear for like 3 months which makes their friends worried asf until they spot Regulus and Barty getting ice cream in a park one midsummer and Dorcas is like “I NEARLY CALLED THE COPS??”

I, personally, feel that two ships could coexist in the same fandom using one of the characters for different partners if some of the fans weren't such entitled bitches and comment shit on post that have nothing to do with say ship.

in order to coexist in a fandom, you have to be respectful of others people HC's or ships. like you can't consistently shit on someone ship and expect for people to not talk shit about yours. it's all about being respectful - I don't believe writers/artists (or editing) enjoy consistently receiving underneath their work comments like: "oh this is so beautiful but i prefer (ship name)" or "this (ship name) doesn't make sense, but nice writing".

I've seen people comment on others blog post, shit like, "I don't agree with you, but nice try." there shouldn't be a need for such a condescending comment. If you don't agree, cool. Stay quiet, and mind your business. If you don't ship two characters, than cool, stay quiet.

and there should also be no need for someone to send anonymous hate to someone because they don't particularly like a ship or they use their blog to talk about about their dislike. If you don't agree with the person, just unfollow them.

Coexisting in a fandom is about being respectful and just enjoying the content without it becoming some fan war or a ploy to make someone feel like crap for not enjoying the same ship as you.

You could most definitely like a different ship and still be respectful to the people in the fandom. Like for an example, I absolutely love Bartylus and I am moots with many that prefer Jegulus & Rosekiller - but I take the time to enjoy my moots content and writing and see their POV of how say ship works for them. They respect my post about Bartylus and we coexist in a fandom.

I read a lot of different ships but I’m always grasping at bartylus crumbs, I’m legit more excited when they make eye contact than when the main pairing (usually jegulus) who has been slowburning for the past 20 chapters finally kiss. I’m just genuinely obsessed with them. I love all the other ships but bartylus just hits different.

It’s like jegulus is folklore and bartylus is reputation. I looooove folklore, it’s so pretty and poetic and tragic, but reputation has me giggling and kicking my feet, it gets me hyped up, it makes me feel badass, it makes me want to dance, I literally started loving Taylor Swift BECAUSE of reputation so at the end of the day I’ll always come back to reputation.
