The Truth: Part One
Pairing: Brian ‘Otis’ Zvonecek x (female) Reader
Author’s Note: So I was rewatching Chicago Fire and my love for Otis was reignited and I had to write this (actually helped me get out of my writer’s block) because there isn’t enough love for him. This chapter is sort of all over the place
Trigger Warning(s): Drama
Disclaimer: I don’t owe nor am I affiliated with any of the Chicago shows, I just like to play with the characters
Summary: You have a crush on Brian but he friend-zones you, or so you think, which prompts you to date someone else until he breaks up with you and the truth comes out.
Molly’s New Year's Eve. That was the night you got your heart broken by one Brian Zvonecek. You knew in-house relationships weren’t really a smart thing, but you thought you could be different. However, the two of you weren’t actually in a relationship. You just got drunk and confessed your feelings for him at the most inopportune time.
“And what about me?” You’d asked in the middle of a conversation about dating, his whole ‘friendzone to endzone’ spiel.
“I’d never date you.” He’d replied all too casually and you could almost hear your heart breaking. “We’re too good of friends.”
He’d friend-zoned you. “Oh.” You forced a smile and a small laugh. “Of course. You’re right.” You stuck around for a few more minutes, talking to him until Cruz came over and got his attention and you’d excused yourself to the bathroom, barely making it in when you broke down and started crying. You hadn’t even noticed Stella was in there, standing at the sink and washing her hands.
