she lets out a burst of laughter, trying her best to conceal it. jess is just about to lose it when peter walks by the room,   “ hey, peter, come here! ”   the girl calls out before shushing the others around her.   “ we need your opinion on what jacquie drew in chemistry today. what do you think? ”   and then she holds up a piece of paper with spiderman wearing….a crop top and booty shorts.   “ they think it looks good, i think it looks RIDICULOUS. ”

       oh no , he didn’t like the sound of giggles coming from the group of teens as he walked in . brow quirked as he cautiously approached , hand reaching out to take the paper offered to him before he couldn’t restrain the strangled half - laugh that died in his throat .  ❝ come on guys , what did spiderman ever do to you ? except y’know , have a better butt than all of you to be able to rock these booty shorts . ❞ for emphasis , he mimicked the pose of the picture . ❝ the only ridiculous thing about it is he totally rocks it . ❞ is he kidding ? is he serious ? it’s hard to tell .

                  “ king eugene ? “ the name is out before she can stop herself. she didn’t know if the king liked to be called by his real name or not, but she shouldn’t just assume. mal bites her lower lip in slight embarrassment, then holds out her hand. “ i’m mal. um, maleficent is my mom. welcome to auradon prep. “ honestly, it should have been ben being the welcoming committee, but he was tied up in king duties. and mal still felt bad for everything that had happened on the isle, so she took the job instead. and it was a mistake. “ your dad was always my favorite prince. you know, if i had to pick one. being a thief and all and actually pulling off his job … well, mostly. “

            sheepish smile hopefully eased the other’s worries on the name before he nodded . ❝ yup , king eugene and queen rapunzel are definitely my parents . ❞ hands clap together now that he’s got that fact out , before rubbing one off on his pants to shake her hand . it’s not every day he got to meet someone as prolific as the daughter of maleficent ! still , he was told someone else was going to be greeting him --- not that mal wasn’t suitable . eyes wandered for the briefest moments before blinking . ❝ he’s his own favorite prince , trust me , ❞ peter offered with a laugh , ❝ he probably would’ve pulled it off if he didn’t ... y’know --- fall in love with my mom . but it’s ah ... it’s nice to meet you , mal . ❞

it’s not like dick hasn’t been on the receiving end of a minor freakout before, not at all.  it’s just that usually, it doesn’t come from a guy in a spider-themed costume.  not that dick’s not digging it, what with the design and all.  looks kinda cool, actually.  ❝- woah, hey, it’s all good.❞ he puts his hands up, teasing just a little.  kid seems well-meaning; dick can’t fault that.  ❝nice to meet you, spiderman.  i’ve seen some of your stuff on youtube, you’ve got some quick moves.❞

The list of villains includes a vengeful brother who was really thirty for the crown of Meridian, his servant hybrid human-snake, a former guardian greedy for power… wait– “Now that I think about it, all of my enemies were very hungry for power. Like, none of them wanted something simple, like what a robber would want which is money.”
