My Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/ebonyheartnet Here to drop off Cryptic Comments, but the short and long of it is that this blog follows the paradox of tolerance: You are welcome so long as you remember that having an asshole doesn’t mean you have to be one.

Hey, hi people who have started following me for some reason. I have no clue why, but welcome! :D

If you need something tagged, my asks are open, and general questions are fine too! NSFW content is tagged as “lemon” or “citrus” btw, and I do ask that minors don’t interact with that content, though anything tagged “sex ed” is fine for all ages.

Also! If you would like to opt out of me being a bigger sap that a maple farm w/ my partners, “courting the jester” is what you’ll need to blacklist

Aside from trigger tags and such, I also have my general content tags, which are the following:

  • “ebony writes the thing” for all my writing; originally there’d been a plan to split between a serious writing tag and a fiction tag, but ADHD be like that sometimes
  • “ebony makes the thing” for cooking (mis)adventures
  • “ebony answers the thing” for asks
  • “ebony sings the thing” OG lyrics, parodies, and the occasional Actual Recording
  • “ebony crafts the thing” might be crochet related babble, painting, sketching, or anything thereof
  • “ebony goes to the ER” or “wee woo wagon wailing 🚑” is pretty much what it says on the tin; just a semi-live blog around my hospital experiences in general. It can get really triggering, so I do ask that y’all be safe and blacklist this tag if you need to.

Individual projects that are gonna take multiple posts will have their own dedicated tags, which I will actually make a post about (eventually ^^’) but, for now, just check the first post and you’ll see what it is. :3

Also, a very important request: Please don’t tag me in ask memes or send chain letter type asks, especially positive ones, as it’s a particularly bad trigger. I’ll reblog ask memes I’m comfortable with, and it’s okay to ask me privately if I’m okay with being tagged in something, but please, this is the one thing I really need.

Once again, if there are any questions or requests, shoot me an ask and I’ll be quite happy to get back to you as I can! :D

Who would have guessed Superman had such strong opinions on integrity in journalism? Action Comics 668

I feel sad for what Clark must feel these days, living in a world where his superhearing lets him hear every shitty right wing "news" show and podcast on earth

Not to mention the "True Crime" craze and the shitty shows that it led to as well ._.

"I swear I'm gonna go full Homelander if I hear another WORD said by Joe Friggin' Rogan..."

"Its so strange that Andrew Tate spontaneously combusted

As if some kind of heat ray was trained on him

The fiftieth right wing podcaster to do that this week"

Superman: NATURE WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS >.>

No one talks about who did it first and inspired the NAACP to do a publicity stunt in which Rosa Parks did it.

Claudette Colvin

Claudette Colvin is a civil rights activist who, before Rosa Parks, refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. She was arrested and became one of four plaintiffs in Browder v. Gayle, which ruled that Montgomery's segregated bus system was unconstitutional. Colvin later moved to New York City and worked as a nurse's aide. She retired in 2004.

Claudette Colvin was so important to the movement but so few people know who she is. Rosa Parks did what she did because Claudette was pregnant and unmarried at the time. The activists who were promoting her case thought that her circumstances would be used to discredit her, and they were almost certainly right. A pregnant unmarried teen would be dragged through the mud today, let alone 1955.

It's so wild that people think that the Civil Rights era was so removed from us. Claudette Colvin is still alive. She was only around 65 in 2004. I was a child in 2004. My mom is only 10 years younger than her. A lot of the people who fought for our rights are still living today. So are the people who tried to stop them.

if you like crafting and also free things, might i suggest the antique pattern library?

it’s a not for profit that’s gathering books, patterns, and other materials related to crafting that are out of copyright (or getting permission from copyright holders in some cases) in order to share them online. they scan items, clean them up, then make everything available for free!

free things are great, especially when you’re just starting to get into something. like oh, i’m supposed to spend money on this hobby i just picked up 20 minutes ago???

the first time i ended up on the site, i seriously spent hours just trawling through everything. there’s the usual suspects like knitting, crochet, embroidery, but there’s also woodwork, calligraphy, and books on things like how to mount and frame pictures. with cross stitch patterns, they also make modern charts with the dmc colour codes available.

links to their webbed site and instagram:

behold, a glorious cat cross stitch pattern (link goes to antique pattern library page):

There is something so satisfying about when yall write Clark the reporter interviewing ‘Brucie’ Wayne, and how Bruce is expecting the routine nosy questions journalists always ask. But here comes Clark, handsome, in this fucking Banana Republic suit asking zero questions for the gossip rags. No, he wants to know about those random company projects that have produced no tangible results, yet the money spent on them is actually to-the-dollar amount provided to the school system in Gotham, donated “anonymously”. And are these “anonymous” donations one-offs, or will the school system regularly receive resources to continue supporting the students and faculty?? If so, will there be any “anonymous” donations to the city to improve infrastructure in the school zones as well, so that students and faculty can have safer commutes???

And Bruce has got to figure out WHO the fuck he’s gonna be in the next 3 seconds to determine HOW he’s going to answer because this is a good question but who the hell is this guy and how did he figure this out? He put those donations under the most ridiculous project names he could think of that were still somewhat believable, and made sure those donations were not tied to him in any way. So WHO is going to answer? Brucie, or Bruce? Because it can’t be Batman, that’s not allowed. He came to this event for the optics and now he’s getting figuratively backed into a corner by a sexy man in tweed.

Lmao. I can imagine the utter chaos after the identity reveal. Bruce shouting at the top of his voice, apoplectic with rage, "You little shit! You cheated! You are Super-fucking-man! Of course, you would be able to find everyone's secrets!" and Clark in his high-pitched panicked voice, "Brucie Wayne is Batman?" to getting mad at the next second, "Wait a goddamned minute! You have no right to accuse me! I have earned my accolades. Do you have any fucking idea how tough it is to pretend to be a useless country bumpkin and get sources for investigative journalism? How dare you!" and proceeds to lecture Bruce without breathing, at top speed while Bruce is getting madder but his dick is definitely interested like - 'not the time to realise you want to fuck Superman' to 'holy shit Superman swears like a sailor' to 'goddamned im in love with a klutzy reporter who has left his fashion sense in the 80s and moonlights as a sparkly all powerful alien'.

People with low spoons, someone just recommended this cookbook to me, so I thought I’d pass it on.

I always look at cookbooks for people who have no energy/time to do elaborate meal preparations, and roll my eyes. Like, you want me to stay on my feet for long enough to prepare 15 different ingredients from scratch, and use 5 different pots and pans, when I have chronic fatigue and no dishwasher?

These people seem to get it, though. It’s very simple in places. It’s basically the cookbook for people who think, ‘I’m really bored of those same five low-spoons meals I eat, but I can’t think of anything else to cook that won’t exhaust me’. And it’s free!

SPREAD THE WORD THIS IS FUCKING GOD TIER OH MY GOD, SOMETIMES I HAVE SPOONS SOMETIMES I DON’T BUT NO COOKBOOK OFFERS LEVELS IN THEIR RECIPES THIS ONE DOES!

shockingly, The Struggles are not confined to English-speaking people
