Goodmorning! Be as you wish to seem, there’s nothing you can’t do. Just put your mind to it, make ways to achieve your goal and life will give it to you. 🙏🏼

What’s your agenda for today? Mine’s some light reading and planning.

100 Days of Productivity - Day 77/100 April 19th, 2018

I continued work on SOR notes today, which was pretty productive. I am currently at a sleepover with my friends - we have eaten much junk food, watched many movies, danced to many songs and taken many interesting photos… I love my friends (and I also love simultaneously eating two boxes of Shapes whilst watching Dirty Dancing at 1am)

Tomorrow I graduate High school and i’ve compiled some tips over the years. Here they are if u are interested:

-bring coffee/tea/hot choco are to your first block it will be infinitely better

-use quizlet for vocab tests and foreign languages

-use easybib for bibliographies on your essays

-don’t listen to other people talk about how much they studied, they are not you, maybe they need to study more or less, and what’s best for them is not what’s best for you (plus people tend to exaggerate how much they ‘studied’)

-know your time of day, if you prefer night time or morning and plan to do your work at a time you like

-try some drama/art classes even if you suck you’ll meet such fun people!

-become friends with your (nice) teachers

-attendance is important BUT attendance does not equal good grades. you’ll have to pay attention in class

-it’s okay if you have off days and don’t go to school or just sleep in class you can catch up when you feel like it

-literally don’t listen to others grades who cares!

-if you can take a study hall or off block TAKE A STUDY HALL OR OFF BLOCK!!

-take classes you want to not the ones your parents want you to.

-don’t study and do work at home all the time. go to a library, coffeeshop, park, whatever to mix things up.

-make time for things you like, TV , reading, exercise, art…. whatevs.

-use paperrater.com to edit your papers for grammatical/spelling errors in papers

-if you are getting sick from stress, you are worrying too much! high school is not meant to be awful and stressful! if you find yourself having lots of anxiety try to talk with family and friends, see if you can attend therapy or find your own way to help cope (meditation, running, yoga etc.)

-“high school is the best four years of your life” = LIES! Don’t feel like you need to be doing more, you are doing just fine.

-B’s and C’s are not bad grades (especially in a really hard class! like honors, AP, IB or tough subjects like math or languages)

-you don’t need to have everything figured out. sometimes it seems like you are surrounded by people who have their sh*t together and can do anything, but trust me no one has it figured out. there will be pressure from counselors or maybe teachers to decide now what your life will look like. that’s bs! you have time.

-it’s good to study but sometimes you won’t study at all and that’s alright.

-bad grades happen. classes get failed. it happens, don’t sweat it.

- make study groups w people who won’t distract you (too much)

-if u want to date !!! do it !!! if you don’t!!! don’t!!! don’t feel pressure one way or another :)

-find your favorite pen or pencil brand and use it always

-highlighters make everything more fun

-snacks. essential. bring lots of snacks man.

-doodle lots in class and put the best ones up in your locker or room

-make playlists for every mood and activity (trust me)

-try new stuff lol! I went vegan for like a week, ran cross country, took a yoga class (one… singular lmao) and you never know what u might be really good (or in my case really bad) at until you try!

-don’t be ashamed to go to bed early. sleep is important!

-don’t be afraid to ask for what you want

-bring water,, everywhere (i’m like a broken record now)

-try not to procrastinate. but when you do. take note of the shit you will do (example: instead of studying for a history exam i began writing a novel)

-love your friends

-drop bad friends!

-take notes even when your teacher seems to be on a tangent. sometimes

information is not in the reading/ in powerpoint but will be on the test

-take notes in class. don’t just take a picture of your partners or whatever. you’ll be much more organized and remember information better if you take the notes yourself

-however, when you miss class, do ask for

notes from classmates

-be nice to substitute teachers (they are trying!)

-call people out when they are being mean or bullying (sometimes people will turn on you when you try to interject. those people are assholes. don’t care about those ppl)

-use a planner/journal to keep track of due dates and tests

-hang out w friends !! don’t isolate yourself because of school/ work. make time for the people and things you love

-take ur meds. try really hard not to forget but if you do don’t beat yourself up. (put a notification in ur phone or put out your meds the night before! whatever works for you!)

Overall: do what makes you happy, never be ashamed to ask for help, and do your best!!!

I try to depend on discipline rather than motivation when it comes to studying.

Unfortunately, I have neither.
