Sea lions on the Sacramento River, California. I guess the sea lions like fresh water too. They stop by around March from southern California on their way to Alaska.

I'm going to take a break from Tumblr. I don't know if I will come back. I wish you all the best and thank you for your kindness and for following me. Take care
March 2024
Splash here and there of yellow all that's left to see
Majestic fields of mustard flowers now just a dream
Typical ant colony it seems
Urbanization is on full steam

A spring time Caturday. Most Americans spring forward (turn clocks ahead and lose an hour) on the second Sunday in March, guess what day tomorrow is ? 😢

This photo came from my archives.Happy frog Friday. Hard to believe but I started @sherrylephotography tumblr blog in March 2014. I guess this month is my 10 year anniversary. Happy tumbling Tumblr's.
Swarms of midges at the pond
Hiding in my hoodie
A black phoebe in a tree
What a dapper flycatcher they can be
Eat away black phoebe
Help save me

photo above is the The Black Phoebe
An intruder disturbing her daily business
Chicks anxious cold and hungry
Feeling relieved when she can finally be with her chicks

Red- eared slider turtle is the most common turtle that I see in the Sacramento River. Funny, I read online that it is the most popular pet turtle in the United States. I think they have more fun and a better life in the river than in captivity.

You've weathered so many life storms
Yet your beauty and confidence shines on
I admire your strength to go on

Hello March
Skillful high speed flying
Buzzing hum of speeding wings
this is the sound of a brave warrior
Chicks hidden on a light branch in the foliage
Never heard a peep from her chicks
Devoted soulful determination
Year after year you and yours build a nest in our yard
Spring time you grace us new beginnings
She is the sweet nectar of life

Full streams trigger
High flow river
tree's holding their ground
while the river flows around
plenty of driftwood
red-eared turtle baking in the sun; all is good

Delicate petals barely pink
Contrast deep dark bark
Ooh sweet spicy fragrance
Achoo achoo ... spring
Bless you
