Update

The intern I hired purely because she bothered the crap out of me until I gave her the interview? She was a rockstar.  She was just hired full time. 

It’s really hard to work in a small office where you disagree politically with 95% of the people you work with.

I just locked myself in the bathroom to pee and yelled at my 2-year-old through the door that “you don’t get to tell ladies what they can do with their bodies, mommy has to pee” and ugh. I’m tired

I got a job!

I turned down an offer, turned down an increased offer, than negotiated for an acceptable salary at 8k above the original  offer because...

I have an employee, my name on the door, and a whole department to run.

Job Hunt Update Fafillion

HI.

I’m currently working a temp job that is actually pretty fun, but I have a major interview on Tuesday for a A+ job.

Please think all your good thoughts in my direction. 

And then I had a drink and cut my hair because that is how I cope

Today

Within minutes I received not one, but two, “Thanksbutnothanks” emails from companies. I was excited about both and hoped that one of them would work out, considering I had interviewed twice for each. 

They both told me the decision came down to me and another candidate, which manages to be both reassuring and heartbreaking.

Since I’m sans tiny human this weekend I’ve spent all day trying to write.

It’s not going well.
