The elves of Lothlorien went from wanting to kick him out to loving him in like 2 days. He's Galadriel's special little guy. My man is out there singlehandedly tearing down centuries of prejudice because he's just so damn charming. When he was nearing the end, he didn't even go to Durin's halls - he just went with Legolas to the undying lands so he could hang out with elves for the rest of time. Gimli would have Thranduil and the rest of the elves of Mirkwood wrapped around his dwarven finger in a week's time. Ideal son in law except for the beard.

Unrelated to my previous post I need more people to read the bartimaeus sequence by jonathan stroud please I'm down on my knees begging pleading ready to offer pdfs and bribery and shit I NEED more people to be deranged with about these books cmon there is a funky 5000 year old narrator and the worst teenager you've ever met and two girls ready to throw down with the local government (one in the trilogy and one in the prequel and the prequel one has a lot of knives) and the writing slaps the themes slap the characters slap the footnotes slap do you want to cry about a guy who likes to shapeshift into a chef bc we have that too and also this Egyptian kiddo who'll also make you cry and also there's commentary abt British imperialism and the corrupt upper classes and slavery and indoctrination and revolutions and there's a dancing skeleton and a pygmy hippo in a skirt and one of the protags has a mini goth phase in book 2 and and there's no outright romance but the books still have a lot to say about the power of love and I'm Unwell about it. What else do you want. What are you waiting for. Go read the Bartimaeus Sequence by Jonathan Stroud. Go. GO.
