Posting Instructions [Fall Exchange 2018]

Here are the long overdue posting instructions! Again, so sorry for the delay. If you have not yet posted your work: Please post it on tumblr with the tag #BNHAFallExchange2018 within the first 5 tags (so that it appears when we search for it). You can post it as an image (if it’s art), a text post (if it’s fic), or as a link to an outside source (i.e. a link to a fic on AO3).

Please also @ your giftee in the post itself. If you have problems doing so, contact us (we promise to be better about responding).

Just to reiterate, posting on tumblr is required. Posting on AO3 is completely optional (and fine either way), just make sure your work can be accessed via tumblr in some fashion.

If you have already posted your work: Posted on tumblr, included #BNHAFallExchange2018 in the first five tags, and tagged your giftee via @ > You’re all good! Congrats on accurately predicting the future instructions.

If you would like to be a pinch hitter: A pinch hitter is someone who makes a creation for a giftee whose gifter has dropped out. If you are already a participant, please send us an email or an ask telling us you’d like to fill in. If you aren’t a current participant, please send us an email with the following information:

Tumblr username
What you’d prefer to create– ships, themes, tags, ratings, etc. (we might ask you to create something outside this, but we will check with you first)
What you won’t create– again ships, themes, tags, ratings, etc. (we will NOT ask you create anything which includes anything you list here)

I can’t really get into the specifics of what happened with the Halloween and Fall Exchanges without giving personal details, but we do have those covered for at this point. We might consider getting more mods for future exchanges, but that’s a bit far out right now (compared to more pressing matters).

Hi I was just wondering what was happening with the Halloween flash exchange? I wrote something but didn't get anything in return, and I looked at the collection and realised I'm not the only one this happened to. Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen again if I sign up for another exchange?

We are currently trying to track down the missing pieces. Normally we would assume they are unofficial drops, but due to the technical issues many people had we are hoping that we may be able to contact a few more people for their works. Otherwise, we will try to get pinch hitters for any remaining missing pieces.Part of the problems we faced were our fault (not having pinch hitters ready in time, not being up to date on communication with you all), and part of the problem was just the nature of fan run events (AO3 not assigning partners properly, etc.).

I can’t promise anything for future events except that we’ll continue to do our best to make sure everyone gets a gift piece, whether through pinch hitters or (occasionally) filling requests ourselves.

Posting on AO3 [Fall Exchange]

For those of you who have posted on AO3 already and/or are planning to post on AO3, we have created an optional collection titled “BNHA Fall Exchange 2018.”

Instructions for posting to the collection:

Once you’ve opened a “New Post” on AO3 and filled in any relevant sections (Title, Tags, etc.), scroll to the section titled “Associations.”

In the field “Post to Collections / Challenges” type the collection name: “BNHA Fall Exchange 2018.” Your screen should look like this:

Click the one which is highlighted red in the picture.

In the next field (”Gift this work to”) type your giftee’s AO3 name. If you do not know their AO3 username, you can contact us for it. Your screen should look like this:

Click your giftee’s name. Fill out the remaining fields as you wish, and click post.

The post will not show up automatically, because the collection is moderated. This means that the mods will have to manually approve each fic to be added to the collection, at which point the fic post will display properly. Expect 24 hours or less for your fic to be approved.

Once again, posting on AO3 is optional for the Fall Exchange. Posting on tumblr is the only requirement.

The google form used was a really good way of doing it, so maybe that could happen a little over a week before the deadline to remind people it's coming up?

Sorry for the late reply, you’ve probably already written out your ending at this point :’)But in general, yes that’s fine. It’s really the writer’s discretion on what counts as an “ending.” As long as it feels complete to you (even if you add more in the future) it would be fine.
