I thought I could wait a couple of days to finally address Gillian and Peter breakup. I guess now is a good time to say a few (?) words.

In 2016 when this thing started we were initially shocked and then in denial. It could not be real. And then it was. What had started as a rumor based on a preposition used on WSJ article about TC premiere in NYC in 2016 became a painful fact, Gillian was indeed in some sort of relationship with Mr Morgan. It was a hard blow to take.

At that time Tumblr was a different place, we had different blogs ruling this little tiny world. Some of them left, some of them changed their usernames, others went into hiding. Few of us stayed. And why did we? I can only speak for myself as I stayed bc I wanted to see the Gorgan ship down and their passengers drowing saying it was true love. Yeah... revenge. They - former gillovnies, old pals who suddenly decided that Gillian and Peter were the most in love couple to exist, Gillian’s stans/ David’s haters who hate the concept of gillovny for whatever reason - have put us through hell for the last 4 years and I wanted to see their facing reality: it was never real. And we told you so all along. We have been saying it since her first damn post about The Crown. You may never admit. You may cry and yell and curse and give us horrible names. But that’s the unspoken truth... you’ve been misled to serve a very specific purpose. You figure it out.

It was never about gillovny. It was about being lied to, in ways that surpass any other lie we’d been told before. But I’m sure many fans are willing to be played again bc they crave these tidbits of dreams, of fantasies that Gillian/David smartly throws at us in this fandom, including myself. I’m down this hole as well. But I want to believe at least I’m able to tell shadows from real people. I guess.

Just wanna add something, if I may. I don't speak for anyone else, of course, but I (as others here I know did, too) have NEVER bought this 'relationship' they've tried to shove down our throats from day one. Ever.

Why? Because there was a LOT of things that simply didn't add up. I won't go into lengthy details or explanations 'cuz I'm just not in the mood, but just to name a few that stood out (to me): 1. the timing (many of the things that have happened since day one were just so off and didn't make sense); 2. the fact that it took her TWO fucking years to name drop him and actually acknowledge this supposed 'relationship' (who, being in a real, loving relationship does that, ffs? TWO years? Gimme a break); 3. and after she finally did it, she then started singing HIS praises, dropping his name left and right, 'love of my life', my 'partner' this, my 'partner' that... honestly, did that ever sound remotely like the Gillian we've known for years? Who has always been quite reserved about her private/family life? Oh, and all this while leaving a 'back door open'... uh, what? Seriously? Don't even get me started on that MOM and DAD thing that 'coincidently' happened just the day before that infamous CNN interview came out. Ok, sure.

Anyway, yeah, I may not know the dynamics of how the industry and this PR world actually work (and I don't care to), but as this shitshow progressed and, more importantly, how certain things were handled, it was clear to me that 1. it was not real, and 2. it DID have an expiration date. Was I surprised by the 'break up'? No. But that it actually happened before award season? Yeah. I did not see that coming lol. I had placed my bet on the expiration date as 2022, but hey, 2020 is fine by me lol. And congrats, Gillian. You're finally free.
