In India, marigolds are a traditional flower used to celebrate and solemnize wedding ceremonies in decorations and garlands exchanged between the bride and groom (as rings might be exchanged in Western traditions); and they symbolize a number of things including honour, warmth/light/the Sun, passion, energy, joy, prosperity, and the paired deities who represent the ideals of love and marriage.
So there's no way a marigold is there for her by accident. It's lovers triumphant and unified.
