About a week ago, I received an e-mail from Tumblr telling me @ignis-scientia-estrogen-brigade turned three years old! Which was fitting timing, since a few days prior the highest of all heights this blog could have ever reached happened: I had streamed myself playing FFXV with English Ignis himself, Adam Croasdell.

I regret not making a post about Adam vs. ISEB: An Ignis Scientia Charity Stream sooner while the details of the experience were still fresh in my mind, but between mailing out all of the donation rewards, releasing March’s merch club items, and finally getting around to IRL work that had been sitting on the back burner the entire month of February, I am only just now finding the time to reflect on what an incredible time we had and how our initial fundraising goal of $2250 was completely obliterated in the process:

I can’t even wrap my head around how we arrived at $5,621.00 in the span of a few hours, but I will say this: It was 100000% thanks to the insane generosity of 150+ donors, as well as the awesome artists who pulled together at the last minute to create some incredibly stellar reward bundles. Adam and I may have been the hosts of the event, but without the viewers pitching in and steamrolling through that donation bar, it would have simply been a sad and lonely episode of the “Adam Roasts ISEB” show haha.

I’ve been working on this piece, off-and-on for months, fighting art block at some point, and powering through busy periods. It’s been totally worth it. I’m 1000% looking forward to their podcast—the stories Steph has told me about their campaigns are so RICH and ALIVE.

The Sailor Scouts!  I Watched some sailor moon on hulu for Nostalgic purposes.  It was better than I remembered (thanks, Viz) and made me want to do a fun character design challenge!  I used only the first season and tried to capture their personalities and little details in each character’s uniforms.  I’ve always been a huge fan of Adventure Time’s gender swap mentality of staying true to the characters as much as possible, not treating it as a joke, and just trying to design legitimate characters while respecting the source!  That said, this was a blast.  

Side note-  Lightning impacts are so crazy looking that they look fake!
