Summary:
Antony is struggling to comprehend the recent loss of his brother, Bevin. The incident has sent the entire Village Council into an uproar, and he feels caught in the middle of the wild accusations and confusion that followed suit.
Just a piece that I wrote to explore Antony's mental state during all of this, as it's not something I've been able to cover much of within Khalan's Journal - the main story of which this concept stemmed from.
He didn't want to be here.
Staring blankly at the beautiful white tablecloth that draped over the length of the massive discussion table, Antony kept his eyes down; his mind in a state of shock and dismay. Voices swirled around him as the Council argued over what had recently happened.
Although all of this had very much to do with him directly, Antony wanted no part in it. He said so. Tried to make himself heard before the Council members dragged him into the meeting room regardless of how mentally distraught and overwhelmed he was.
But of course they didn't listen. They never did.
So. I Finally decided to post this. I've practically had it finished for months now, but kept second-guessing myself on whether or not I should actually share it. I figured I might as well, though. It's pretty angsty, but I hope it provides just a bit more insight into Antony's character, for anyone who wants to know a bit more about him. Warning tags are listed on AO3.
