Happy international women’s day!

We will never forget the Palestinian struggle - for Palestinian women both fighting settler colonialism in their homeland and beyond to the Palestinian diaspora. 🇵🇸🇵🇸

Fuck dude. Seeing all these Palestinian people sharing videos of themselves and their family before everything is making me tear up a bit. Remember that Palestinians aren’t a statistic. That one person that died was someone’s father, brother, sister, mother, child, friend, lover, or someone’s reason to continue living. Everyone in these clips and photos you see online had jobs, had dreams, went to school, played outside with their friends, made art, loved one another, helped there friends, owned pets, had plans for the future, had achievements they were proud of. Each life lost is an absolute tragedy.

There’s no replacing everything around you that you love. Don’t think that Palestinians can just replace everything that they loved.

I am fucking scared of AI. This shit seriously needs to be stopped and regulated NOW. Nothing justifies taking a persons voice or face to make them say or do things they have never done. This is the biggest violation in privacy and we just wait and watch until something really bad happens. Regulate that shit now. I am scared. This is fucking scary.

In conflict zones, PPE like this is meant to turn you into a walking white flag, especially if you are not authorized to carry a red cross on your uniform to identify you as Untouchable During Conflicts by the standards of an international court of law. PPE comes in a lot of formats, and when you work in a conflict zone as a medical professional of any kind, ostensibly your first job upon arriving to the scene is to confirm whether or not it is safe for you to go and DO your job. This is ~obviously~ a complicated and nuanced ask, and so it is commonly practiced to send medical personnel into conflict zones in high vis PPE that provides them both medical protection AND ballistic protection so that there are more situations in which they can justify running in to do their work despite the danger.

One of the things that has been so horrifying about the way the IOF operates in Gaza and the West Bank is that it negates the function of these forms of PPE. Medical professionals get captured, wounded, and killed REGARDLESS of how visibly identified they are, or even BECAUSE of it. This has led to a massive number of "hero" medics who simply run into frontline situations, no PPE gear, no thought for themselves or their colleagues, no perimeter checks or care for ANYTHING except how fast they can get in, grab their patient, and get out again, because this is now the ONLY effective way to perform medical duties in the region. To be a medical worker in Gaza or the West Bank is to accept death into your heart in ten thousand little ways just so you can save any lives you manage to while you manage to keep it up.

Think about that. Wanting to have a career saving lives means risking yours every day until one day you don't make it out. It's not heroic to live like that, it's psychological torture, and it never needed to happen to these people. They could have just been doctors, nurses, EMTs, etc. It didn't have to be a game of Russian Roulette to see how many times you can evade sniper fire and bombing raids before your luck runs out. I need people to think about how many of the medical staff "heros" we've seen over the last five months who ended up dead within weeks or months of us learning their names, their faces. What it must be like to watch your colleagues drop dead around and keep going because the only other choice is a death you can't stomach.

Press in blue. Medics in white. Obvious. Visible. Fighting for survival. If that isn't enough for people to understand what's happening, I don't know what could be anymore.

this one is being circulated by palestinian people I trust, and the cause is very important and necessary. Gazan healthcare workers continue to work with nothing to sustain them and their families.

the donations would assist healthcare workers across Gaza's hospitals, including the northern region, as they endure the challenges posed by the complete collapse of the healthcare system and the disruption of their salaries

social media is seeing an israeli doing a “day in my life” tiktok in their nice home, with their fresh groceries, going to markets, doing their hair and makeup, all while saying how afraid they are… and then you scroll to see a palestinian doctor have to amputate his daughter’s leg on their kitchen table with no anesthesia because their hospital was bombed.

people see that and still refuse to acknowledge that this is a genocide.

correction: israel has killed 15 palestinians in rafah in the evening of february 12. they’ve killed many more in rafah since february started. the death toll is around 400, with 76 killed today, monday feb 13. the iof destroyed khan yunis, the place where gazan refugees from the north were fleeing, and now the iof is attacking and murdering civilians in the last southern city.

do not look away from what the israeli colonizers have done to khan yunis and what they will do to rafah as long as world leaders across the globe twiddle their thumb and america continues to sink billions into this genocide.

just two days ago, the iof snipers killed a doctor in the middle of a surgery in a khan yunis hospital. there is a horrifying video of an old man, shot and crawling into the reception of said hospital, and no one is able to drag him away from the windows where snipers keep shooting at them. this is what our tax money is funding. this is what our leaders are encouraging. the entire world should be dying of shame and disgust, most especially the west, giddily supporting and paying for the nth genocide of brown indigenous people, and the greedy, soulless monsters of the uae and saudi arabia.

please reblog this version instead with the corrected information. again, all sourced from arab news programs including all jazeera which can be accessed as online articles. here is the link to the article confirming the new deaths from monday morning, feb 13.

it actually hurt reading this update. civilians claim they found a minimum of 30 bodies near the hamad school in northern gaza, with both of their legs and hands tied, their eyes blindfolded. they were already in a state of decomposition. presumably they were tortured and killed, then dumped into a mass grave with no one the wiser. this cannot be any more blatant of a war crime, but still no authority—be it the ICJ or otherwise—is truly stepping it to put an end to israel’s relentless genocide of palestinians. to top it off, if israeli officers do release palestinian detainees, they do so in the most humiliating way possible. the same al jazeera article mentions that any palestinian detainees released were released in underwear. literally just underwear. no other clothes on. it’s insane how committed they are to ensuring that every act is an act of dehumanization. i am genuinely sick to the bone of anyone who has the gal to see all these atrocities and still have the nerve to say that this is not a genocide in live time.

i’m sorry but this just makes me really fucking livid, especially when i see people on tumblr going on and on about activism fatigue and how they “just don’t understand what’s happening.” i know it’s impossible for some of you, but just try to put yourself in their shoes. try imagining that you’re the sister, the daughter, the relative of a dead palestinian. you hear news break of this mass grave site. and even though all bodies are decomposed beyond recognition, you go to this MASS GRAVE SITE anyway, hoping for some kind of closure. hoping you might be able to catch a glimpse of your loved one one more time. this is so many palestinians’ reality. and it’s not okay. it’s not okay.

with this image in mind, i hope you can understand why palestinians can’t take you seriously when you complain of activism fatigue, or not knowing enough to comment.
