soft, melodic tones playing from your phone were what drew you out of sleep. it wasn't the stripes of sunlight glowing through the blinds and onto the bed, nor was it the warmth of your husband's tight embrace around your body, his chest slowly rising and falling against your back. so of course, you were immediately put into a bad mood.

"damn it," you sighed heavily whilst dismissing the phone alarm.

normally, beautiful mornings like today were the things you lived for. there was absolutely nothing better than waking up to golden sunlight and safe, warm cuddles, hearing the birds chirping right outside your window. you loved to bask in the glow of sunrise, enjoying just how safe and loved jeong yunho made you feel.

unfortunately, waking up to the soft (but persistent) strains of your alarm could only mean one thing: there was no time for cuddles. had you woken before your alarm as you did on most days, cuddling would have been a luxury you could afford. but today, running late was a real possibility, avoidable only by getting out of bed now.

with another sigh, you rolled out from underneath the covers. or you tried to, anyway.

yunho's arms tightened around your tummy, trapping you in his hold under the sheets. "stay," he groaned sleepily. "stay with me."

you smiled a tiny smile as he nuzzled his cold nose into your neck.

"I can't, baby," you said with regret. "I have work today, remember?"

you could feel his sweet little pout against your throat. "don't go to work." his hold on you became possessively tighter. "I'm more important."

you giggled at that - he wasn't wrong, after all.

"yunho - "

"no." he said it cutely, shaking his head. "m keeping you here forever."

he swung one of his giant legs over yours and once more tightened his arms around your torso so that you were completely caged in his warmth, hardly able to move.

with a playful groan, you attempted to wriggle out of your husband's grasp. "yunho~" you whined.

but he only shook his head again, kissing your neck and humming cutely in protest. "think of your priorities," he chirped happily. "which is more important - cuddling with your adoring husband, or making money so we can pay the bills?"

you raised one eyebrow, despite knowing he wouldn't be able to see it. "how is that even a question?"

"exactly," he said with smug satisfaction. "I'm way more important."

"jeong yunho!" you cackled. "you're ridiculous!"

"but you're not denying that I'm right," he hummed happily, smooching your neck repeatedly. his fingers dug into your sides to tickle you, and you squirmed and giggled, struggling to break free of the cage his body created around you.

"please! no more tickles!"

for a second, yunho stilled, bringing his mouth near your ear. "I'll stop if we can snuggle for five more minutes."

you rolled your eyes, but could not prevent a smile from coming to your face. yunho wasn't entirely wrong when he claimed to be your number one priority.

"you're lucky I'm so in love with you, jeong yunho."

your husband hummed smugly, leaning over your body to capture your lips in a sweet kiss. "I know I am."

You’d met your neighbor, Yunho, a few weeks after you’d first moved into your new apartment. It was a cool Sunday afternoon and you decided to decorate your balcony so you could start spending your evenings relaxing outdoors while it was still nice out. The furniture had already arrived and been put together along with most of the decorations and it was really coming together. 

The finishing touch was a new set of lights to replace the old yellowed ones that were strung along the ceiling and set about trying to change them yourself too impatient to wait for someone else to help you. The problem was, you weren’t quite tall enough to reach them nor did you fancy standing on a chair so you did your best. 

Your best is what brought Yunho out onto his balcony, hearing your thudding and grunting, and his eyes popped out his head as he watched you recklessly jumping for the wires, nearly hanging over the railing to get to them.
