Here’s a “life-hack” for you. Apparently concentrated Kool-Aid can be used as a pretty effective leather dye. I was making a drink while cutting the snaps off some new straps for my pauldrons and I got curious, so I tried it, thinking, “ok even if this works, it will just wash out.” Nope. It took the “dye” (undiluted) in about 3 seconds. After drying for about an hour and a half, it would not wash off in the hottest tap-water. It would not wash out after soaking for 30 minutes. It did not wash out until I BOILED it, and even then, only by a tiny bit and it gave it a weathered look that was kind of cool. Add some waterproofing and I’d wager it would survive even that. That rich red is only one application too. Plus it smells great, lol. So there you go, cheap, fruity smelling leather dye in all the colors Kool-Aid has to offer.

When I was in middle school we used to use it to dye our hair.  Potent stuff.

If you’re dying anything with kool-aid it’s best to use SUGAR-FREE ones otherwise the thing you’re dying might get all sticky

the flavor only packets where you are supposed add sugar are the best.  they will dye any natural fiber: leather, wool, cotton, hair,  flax, jute, silk and so forth.  heat the dye water so it is more potent.  let dry then rinse excess out in cold water.  there’s  a whole system to this.

paying sellers the extortive prices they set normalizes this higher price, and boosts the average price of furbies as other sellers follow suit. dont fall victim to this!! good prices will come with time- just be patient :3

*: this does not include rare furbies such as kid cuisine, hi-c, angel, champagne, green bean, etc. kid cuisines, the rarest furby you can acquire, are only worth about $300usd AT MAX- run for the hills if you see sellers charging the same for a snowball. its not worth it.

im so glad to hear that!! if youre sick of ebay prices, my personal favorite furby site is shopgoodwill.com :-) its grown in popularity recently but it still tends to be far cheaper than ebay, plus its going to a good cause!!

its awesome isnt it??? shopgoodwill gave me a 2005 furby + a koala and kiwi 1998 for $40usd, and i also purchased 60. six zero. mcdonalds 1998 furbies for $9usd from there. its a lifesaver ☺️ AND a cool hack for it? occasionally furbies will be under the search “furbie” or “furbee”, which means that youll likely be the only one finding whstever auctions are there via search >:3

exactly!!!!!! it may be hard to acquire rarer furbies from there as people tend to leap on them, but it does mean that more common furbies (plus literally ALL 2012s/booms, seriously people have some kind of grudge against them and you can cop one for 6 bucks easily) will be overlooked and stay low :3
