also absolutely not missing out on those demos i backed at the 25 level cause missing the demo songs for black friday will forever be a regret... i will never be happy not knowing what the cut president howie song could have been like (a song that in my opinion would have helped fans understand his importance to the plot as well as enjoy howie a bit more)

Owen is adjusting his own suit jacket when he notices the red stain forming on Curt's white button down. He had stared at it for a moment before asking the obvious question, letting it sink in and take mold in whatever way his partner wanted to answer it. The answer, smug and filled with bravado, made Owen's eyes roll. Dark hues rotating until they could land back on the American agent, "You'll have to do better than that, love." He gives a nod to the cut, "Your shirt also has a cut and the stain suggests it's spreading from the inside."

His hands slide up the lapels of his jacket until he can hook into the collar fixing the way the garment is sitting on his shoulders. He reaches next for his hair, smoothing it back with a narrowed gaze that lands on the door that would lead back to the charity gala. They'd been meant to get intel, a fight wasn't meant to occur during the event-- but things happen. Owen could return just fine and leave without stirring anything, but Curt? "Just button your jacket and put some pressure on it, we can get out of here before anyone notices you leaving a trail."

He closed his jacket, buttoning it, and placing his hand coolly in the pocket of the side he was hurt to apply pressure in the most subtle of ways because Owen wasn't wrong. Not that he needed to be told what to do, but again Owen wasn't wrong. And he was doing what the other suggested just as he said it. In sync. He was already counting on the people disappointed about the ruined shirt, but at least for now the suit was salvageable. "It's a scratch, when we get out of her I'll get a band aid and a change of clothes," he said with his surefire way of speaking to minimize is wrong doings, his mistakes to amke it seem like noting truly was bad. Curt was talented, he didn't get this far without being talented. But his biggest talent was his ability to bullshit. He may be no actor, but you didn't need to be to tell a good lie. That took charisma which Curt, despite popular belief by most of his associates, did have.

"Make the rounds, before we leave though. We're in a hurry, not rude." Curt was all about playing the room right. Curt did try to be courteous where he was allowed in this job, perhaps why he kept being sent out. Honestly, Cynthia left it up to guesswork for him since she never seemed happy with his performances, or reports. Well she was happy with his reports just never the true contents because Curt did not lie on them. So she could nitpick. He really didn't do himself any favors. Maybe he should lie in one one day. Maybe this one, she didn't need to know he was stabbed, he was already trying to make it seem smaller than it was.

With his free hand he opened the door for Owen before walking out grabbing a glass of champagne from a serving platter, and held it casually to match his casual attempt at pressure to his wound. He gave an easy smile to those who walked pass. He may not look as put together as Owen, he never did, but if anyone asked he knew the correct lie to tell. An alibi he built for himself before they even left to get the intel. "Outside in ten?" he asked, his lips barely moving as he measured how much time he personally needed inside and to get to their rendezvous.

They were always being watched, but Owen likely meant something far more serious. Either they were found out, or were about to be. But Curt wasn't about to let that happen, they were so close to leaving with what they needed. Both their agencies would win big if they got out of this without being caught. If they got out of this cleanly. And Curt wanted nothing more than for it to be a clean in and out. He looked at Owen, "Well, lets give them a show then. It wont be Hamlet but you can sell it right?"

He tended to leave his jackets open for these types of moments in particular. He could hide it. Cause as little problems as possible. He was pretty sure it wasn't anything bad. A knife more than likely knicked him at the wrong time in the wrong place. Luckily his jacket was dark to cover anything else up. He wasn't careful this time, and he didn't really want a lecture, he was bound to get one. He knew it wasn't a bullet graze. He closed his suit jacket, and came up with a lie he hoped Owen bought, "Not mine, just a bit of blood spatter. Nothing but a problem for my dry cleaner," he said with ease and a smile to help sell it. It didn't feel like a deep cut so he'd be fine, just a new scar to add to the collection.

He quickly scans the area, and their are traces of others. "Looks like no one got your memo," he said with lowly as to not be overheard, but he said it with an ease that he typically carried with him. The cool head that often made him seem like a careless baffoon in the field.

It wasn't that he didn't trust it, but not checking for himself would come to bite him in the ass. So he checked. They seemed to be a light present, so someone trained, someone likely there for a very similar reason as to why they were. Which lead to two things, hope they didn't meet them, and they needed to work fast.

He moved forward, and motioned for him, gesturing with his head their company, he leaned in and now whispered, "Runner take your mark," indicating he'd stay and cover the ground to make sure they had no more visitors and Owen could put his training to use and be faster than their little compatriot who had yet to notice them.
