How about Derek Hale seeing his gf wearing his shirt for the first time?

"So you're the clothes stealer hm?" Derek smiled against your shoulder as he pulled you into his lap. He was still in bed when he noticed his shirt missing, granted it was hard to locate any clothes in the mess his room was because of last nights activities but his nose didn't lie.

"Guilty." You cupped his cheeks as you took your seat on his lap, your bare thighs pressing against his. He was still naked. Oh. "You didn't get dressed at all?"

Derek smirked and pulled the shirt down, his mouth hot against the skin of your shoulder, "I would, but someone stole my favorite shirt. You have your own."

"Oh now you want me in my clothes?" You teased as you pointed out the scratch marks on your legs that the shirt barely covered, "I need to cover these up Derek. I'm not going out in shorts."

"But you were happy to ask for them. And you seem happy to let people know we're together. Everyone saw that kiss yesterday, and they're sure as hell gonna smell me on you even if you don't walk out wearing my shirt." Part of him wanted to see you wearing his clothes, "How about you wear it only for me?" But the other possessive wolf part of him wanted you for himself.

Glass Onion did many, many things well. But a few of my favorites are:

  1. Gave Helen the LITERAL POWER of the dumb white man's idea of a good idea to BLOW HIS SHIT UP.
  2. Gave Whiskey a moment to deepen her character beyond "dumb men's right bimbo." Do I agree with the way she's doing things? No. Do I respect that she gets the chance to show she is aware of what she's doing? Yes.
  3. Gave Benoit a live-in partner who straight people don't clock at all. Bitch. The butler is not calling Mister Blanc's famous friends to express worry over his bath time. That's the job of a husband (colloquial).
  4. Benoit solving Gillian Flynn's mystery because it's CLEVER but needing help with the ACTUAL mystery because IT'S DUMB. And not because he's TOO SMART but because he's bad at DUMB PUZZLES.
  5. Everyone only willing to throw Miles under the bus after Helen literally blew up any chance he had of saving their asses. Did they learn anything? Fuck no. It's a very clear lesson on understanding who to trust. As Helen puts it: "You'll lie for a lie, but you won't lie for the truth?" They're not lying for the truth at the end. They're lying for the lie that they're not very much like Miles.
  6. I have seen some people noting the Mona Lisa burned like canvas, and I've seen some people noting the Mona Lisa burned like wood, and what's important to remember is that everything you need to know about Miles is that he's got the fucking audacity of the insulated fuckboy to think he's being clever having someone build an un-failesafe button so the Mona Lisa could be safe.
  7. "It's so dumb, it's brilliant!" / "No, it's just dumb!"
  8. "You'd lie for the lie, but you wouldn't lie for the truth?" -- Yeah, I mentioned it already, but my GOD. WHAT A POINT.
  9. "Your name will forever be remembered in the same breath as the Mona Lisa." -- STAB HIM AGAIN.

imagine being on your little dried peapod shell of a boat with your fragile little human self and then

out of the depths below

the Divine

God-Beasts

come right up to YOU

capable of crushing you without even noticing you

and ever so gently

so gently

roll back and forth around the dried leaf you're sitting on

just to maybe examine you and see what you're doing in their world.

fuck it, i never ever do those “reblog for X, this one really works!” posts, but this one doesn’t have any of that BS, this is just straight up wishing us good things; and then the comment doesn’t even say any of that either. Zero claims on this post, all positive vibes

May you end this week feeling ever more certain of a future you’ll love

What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for 😇 One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it. For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by LP Giobbi 😜 Thank you, so much, forever, wow, just thank you!!! https://taylor.lnk.to/thecruelestsummer

Today I learned that, in contrast to Robert and Kenilworth, Ambrose did no improvements to Warwick Castle. In fact, he ignored it so thoroughly that by that time he died, the castle was in a bad state of disrepair, quite literally rotting away in some places.

Cruelly ironic then that Kenilworth, which Robert put so much time, effort and money into improving and expanding, is the one that now lies in ruins while Warwick Castle is still intact 😭

something the retro art people forget is that the past still exists in those time periods. Like those photos where every single iconic 80s thing is in the kid’s bedroom–no one lived like that outside of the very wealthy and/or the movies.

Someone kicking around in 1985 was probably living in a house built decades prior, and their parents last renovated in the 70s before the kids were born–because there’s no money for that when you had kids.

I mean look around today, there are plenty of people 10+ years behind the times. Old cars are out there, old fashions, old music–the present day is haunted by the past around every corner, the date doesn’t roll over to a new decade and all the old stuff doesn’t just disappear–it’s all still here.

Those achingly period-appropriate homes you see in movies and TV are just that–sets. Unless you just moved into a brand new home and all your stuff was lost in a fire so you had to replace it your home is not going to be all modern present day shit.

This is also something a lot of future-fiction doesn’t get–the future will have a lot of the past in it, because as humans bumble through life they pick things up and they don’t discard them–Someone who is 40 in 2040 is going to have shit from the 20′s when they got their first apartment or whatever, their home may have been built in 2000 and last remodeled in 2030…what I mean is cutting edge fashions and styles exist on TV but rarely in real life.

I have spent so much time trying to get incredulous zoomers to understand that our houses were not, in point of fact, lit exclusively by neon lights, that our floors were shag carpet, not concrete, and the most popular color was brown, not pink.

The reason I like history so much is the way you can see how unchanging human nature is. People have always been doing the same things, with different tools. Ancient Sumerians writing "I am not warning you now in hopes that you'll actually do anything, I am writing this to later prove that I warned you and you did nothing" messages in clay tablets like you'd write an office e-mail. Ancient philosophers talking about shepherds and archers, explaining the exact same problem you had this morning, like they're personally calling you out.

200 years ago, somebody was complaining about Kids These Days burying their faces in books in order to avoid socialising just the same as someone else is now ranting how their children would rather browse their phones than listen to them rant. People were arguing anonymously in the posting boards and newspaper sections just the same as they do on the internet. Someone in the bronze age woke up at 5 am to the sound of toddlers fighting over complete nonsense just the same as someone woke up to the same noises today.

For as long as there have been people, there have been people doing the same kind of things as you. From some dude in a cave with berries for paint, some Roman planning a mosaic on a wall, ancient Chinese noblewoman illustrating her calligraphed poem and some medieval monk decorating the borders of a manuscript and me on my laptop with my stylus pen, we're all just sitting here in our different times and places, wondering why the FUCK are horses so hard to draw.
