Tom’s mind is still a little blurry from last night, all the tequila shots, the countless beers and those god-awful blue cocktails he kept ordering just because the bartender poured from about five different bottles and he needed the extra booze. He just wanted to unwind, de-stress, let go of all the pent-up tension from a long week of meetings, which he was forced to sit through next to some of the people he despised the most in his line of work.

Which is why he wanted so bad to forget about his stupid job and the enfuriating battle of egos with one wild night out. The plan had been to go out with the usual gang, but they all left early for some reason Tom can’t remember. So it ended up being just you and him. And you’d been a sweetheart at first, but then you kept asking him to stop, to take it easy, and he honestly wasn’t in the mood for you to mom him.

Right now, you’re staring at him with fiery embers for eyes.

“I fucking hate you sometimes,” you say.

“I really fucking hate you, too, darling.”

Tom knows you both mean it this time, but gravity is stronger than will and soon he steps into your personal space and smacks his lips against yours.

my take on sbial because i have only seen one side or the other (spoilers ahead):

SO. sbial is definitely a movie that i watched and loved, and then thought about it and didn’t like it as much.

my problem, is that it’s out there. i mean there are some things in it that shouldn’t have made the cut. but then again, these are teenagers. not every single person is woke or aware of what they say/do. it sounds unrealistic in this day and age but it’s true.

the trans remark? happens a lot more than you think. mocking lesbians? also happens very frequently. i’m so glad people are calling out the director and author for the promotion of slander, but people need to see this. they need to see what REALLY is said to some people. this kind of uproar needs to happen more often, but we need to call out non-fiction people too. hold real people accountable as well as made up plots.

the switch kissing scene? NOT my cup of tea. will never be my choice of any beverage. jamey didn’t consent to sierra kissing him, he consented to veronica. as i said before, they’re teens. acting in the moment isn’t something that’s completely out of the window. we all do it. granted, it SUCKED that this was the ‘in the moment’ scene, and consent shouldn’t be an in the moment thing for young adults and they should know that it’s important by then, but at the time veronica thought she was doing something good for a friend.

the catfishing? out of line and a terrible decision on sierra’s part. she should’ve told jamey that he had the wrong number, or explained who she really was. but i can understand where she’s coming from. i haven’t catfished anyone, but it came to my mind in some circumstances. i was the ugly kinda chubby girl. i was never anyone’s choice. am i a completely different person than the one i was in high school? by a thousand percent. i don’t think like that anymore because i know what i’m worth. sierra is just like the past me. she’s been nobody’s romantic choice for a long time. she’s told that she’s nothing compared to the success of her parents, and she believes it. when she gets a text from a cute unknown boy, she takes the chance because now someone has finally taken interest. she didn’t know he had the wrong number until he called her veronica. should she have told him then? absolutely. did he say he liked her for her? yea. but she didn’t believe it because he had veronica’s face plastered on her personality. she was scared that she’d lose that one interest, and that she wouldn’t find anyone again. so she took a stupid chance.

the veronica exposing mess? horrible fucking move, and a shitty friend. she thought that veronica would be hurting the same way sierra was. in reality, this almost cost veronica a LOT if not everything. sierra was just ignorant with this move tbh. i’m sorry but with this one, i can’t see how she wouldn’t think posting it would cause the same harm as veronica kissing a boy who didn’t know he was being catfished.

in conclusion: sierra burgess is a loser has me confused so much. i don’t know if i like the film, or dislike it. jamey and veronica shouldn’t have forgiven sierra THAT fast. she should have had to work hard to earn their trust and friendship/relationship back. the movie had realistic aspects, and aspects that were so far out there that if it was realistic then i’d be a lil scared. none of this is me trying to justify their bad actions, i’m just trying to explain why they might think they’re doing something decent or normal.
