What really matters in Digital Marketing?
When people discuss digital marketing they often talk about things like SEO (Search Engine Optimization) SMM (Social Media Marketing) and ORM (Online Reputation Management).
While these elements ARE important, they are NOT the key to success. In order to have success with your online marketing you essentially need these two things:
TRAFFIC AND CONVERSIONS
Traffic refers to people visiting your website. The three most common methods used to drive traffic to your website are:
1. SEO: getting organic traffic from search engines like Google/Yahoo/bing by ranking your keywords highly.
2. SMM: sharing your content on Social Media sites like Facebook and Twitter and having that content link to your website.
3. PPC: paying ad networks like Google Adwords and Bing ads to place your ads which lead to people visiting your site.
Conversions refers to people taking an action on your site such as filling out a contact form or calling your business or adding a product to a shopping cart and completing the checkout.
The only way to win with your digital marketing is to have both quality traffic and a high percentage of conversions.
Are you generating new business through social media? Do you think that you should be generating more business? You may want to consider handing off the reins to someone who specializes in turning cold traffic into warm leads. A Social Media Manager should be able to identify where Maui’s potential customers are in their purchase journey and be able to help guide them to the next step with the right content. They should also know how to provide outstanding customer service to users in both positive and negative experiences that have been shared on the business page. It is imperative to realize that posts and answers made on a business’s social media page are public, as are the responses. The Social Media Manager will need to keep this in mind before responding and perhaps even judge whether or not this is a conversation that will need to be brought elsewhere, usually with direct messaging to ensure the customer does not publicly post personal information on related sites and marketing. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • #marketingagency #Digitalmarketing #Jobs #Sales #Marketing #Entrepreneur #Contentmarketing #News #Internetmarketer #SEO #WP #Business #Success #Facebook #SEM #SERP #Affiliate #Website #Webdeveloper #Hawaii #Maui #Oahu #Kona #nickpontemarketing #NPM #nickponte #offlinesharks #socialmediamarketing
