The Horse and His Boy Characters: Shasta
//If you do one good deed your reward usually is to be set to do another and harder and better one//
One of my favorite things about this book is how different it is from the other stories in the series. Obviously, it has a lot of similarities, but the narrative and perspectives are so fresh that it feels brand new. There is also a new level of darkness in this novel that varies from the rest of the series.
Shasta/Cor is such a great character because Lewis writes him like a real boy that faces very real struggles; especially when we see him interact with Aravis. Our introduction to a young Northern boy in a foreign land and culture gives a new perspective of the world in the wardrobe.

the final days of narnia - king tirian and jewel discuss the return of aslan, and speak with roonwit the centaur
Three weeks after the Shift forces Puzzle to make play that he is Aslan, Tirian, King of Narnia, is at his hunting lodge and discussing Aslan’s ‘return’ with his dear friend Jewel, the unicorn. Whilst there they also hear from Roonwit, the centaur, who states that the stars have spoken to him and tell him that the Aslan of which they speak is not the real Aslan.
“Who are you?“ asked Shasta.
"Myself,” said the Voice, very deep and low so that the earth shook: and again “Myself”, loud and clear and gay: and then the third time “Myself”, whispered so softly you could hardly hear it, and yet it seemed to come from all round you as if the leaves rustled with it.”

What were you all doing in the wardrobe?
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, directed by Andrew Adamson (2005)
Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen. May your wisdom grace us until the stars rain down from the heavens.

Ages of the Land of Narnia - Age of Winter
Ages of the Land of Narnia - Age of Conquest (2/2)
I wonder did we ever really meet before? I had a sort of idea—a sort of picture in my head—of a boy and a girl, like us—living somewhere quite different—and doing all sorts of things.
Basically.
favorite ships (in no particular order) → lucy & peter (the chronicles of narnia)
