Shelter From The Storm

Fandom: The Musketeers (BBC)

Paring: Aramis X Female Reader

Genre: Smut, Some fluff

Rating: Explicit, 18+

Contains: Mutual Attraction, Unprotected Sex, Cuddling, There was only one bed...and some other things. Nothing too out there.

Word count: Over 8900

It was only supposed a day mission. You and Aramis were supposed to head out of Paris and get some intel on an incoming visitor. Get the intel and return to Paris. But things didn’t play out

Things had taken far longer than you and Aramis had anticipated, which meant the two of you started the return trip later than you would have liked. So much later you wondered if the two of you would make it back to Paris that night.

The first few hours had not been so bad, but as the sun went down, all the warmth vanished and soon, you were freezing cold. You wrapped yourself up in your cloak as tightly as you could, but even with that and your leather gloves, it still was not enough.

The cold managed to pierce through all the layers of your uniform down to the bone and made the ride a miserable one. Not helping were the distant sounds of thunder, warning you that at any moment things could become even more miserable.

You kept your complaints to yourself, but Aramis had noted how much quieter you had become during the ride. He knew you got cold rather easily and instantly had offered to double up on your horse and wrap you in his cloak. The idea was very tempting, but you were not about to deprive him of warmth.

If it had been Aramis alone on the assignment, he would have simply continued, but seeing how miserable you were, despite your claims that you were not, he decided that once the two of you reached the next town, he would seek out shelter.

After what seemed like an eternity, the two of you came upon a small village just off the main road. Spotting a sign for a tavern called The Blackbird, you and Aramis road up to it and tied the horses outside to a nearby post.

Stepping inside, you saw that it was a rather well-kept inn, decorated in dark woods and colors. There were at least a handful of travelers sitting about drinking and laughing, so it was a least a friendly place on the surface.

While Aramis went to speak to the innkeeper, a rotund, bearded man, you wandered over to the large stone hearth, where thankfully a large crackling fire burned bright. Grateful for the chance to warm up, you pulled off your leather gloves and placed your hands over the flames. You sighed deeply as you felt the feeling slowly return to your fingers and felt the warmth spread through you, making you feel human again.

A few moments later, Aramis joined you at the hearth. He removed his own gloves and placed his own hands over the flames, looking a tad nervous.

“What did the innkeeper say?” You asked, hoping for good news.

“Well…They’ve only one room left.”

“Just the one?” You asked nervously

“Yes, but the innkeeper said it sleeps two. And we can have it as soon as we finish dinner. That is if..you don’t want to..” Aramis said, his voice trailing off a bit.

“No. It’s okay. It’s best if we stay. Besides, we could try elsewhere, and end left sleeping out in the cold. We can make do tonight.” You said lightly, hoping your own nervousness wouldn’t show in your tone.

Anytime the Musketeers went out on assignment overnight, lodgings sometimes consisted of anything from the local monastery, the local stables or just a campsite off the main road. With how the weather was taking a turn for the worst, you would have slept anywhere that had a roof over it.

Once warm enough, the two of you left the hearth and found a small table where the two of you partook of some of the house stew and some bread. What was in the stew was unknown, but it tasted good accompanied by the bread and house ale and after a long day of riding in the cold, it was perfect.

Aramis did most of the talking while the two of you ate, which suited you fine. His smooth, playful voice was always a pleasure to listen to, sometimes a bit too pleasurable. Making it more so was that smile of his, the one that always lit up the room and never failed to cheer you up.

But though his company was enjoyable, there was a bit of tension building inside your chest. The knowledge that the two of you would be sharing a room tonight was equally thrilling and nerve wracking and already your mind was swarming with possibilities.

You suddenly wished the other Musketeers were present, if only to make it less daunting, but even if they were there, they would be doing everything in their power to get you to confess your feelings for Aramis.

Those feelings had been there ever since the day you walked into the Musketeer’s garrison, demanding a chance to earn the uniform, you would never forget that he was responsible for making your dream happen.

So many laughed and told you that as a woman, you would never earn the chance to wear the uniform, but you were not about to let that stop you from trying. Every chance you got, you practiced the drills that you had witnessed and once you felt ready, you decided to go for it.

Most of them had done little but laugh as you, a mere woman walking into the garrison armed with nothing but a chipped rapier. Having heard of the Musketeers growing up, all you wanted to do was join their ranks. You even managed to sneak on to the roof of the garrison and watch them train.

But Aramis though did not laugh with the others. He strolled up to you with those dark eyes, that dark wavy hair and neatly trimmed mustache and goatee, smiling with that devil may care smile and asked you to show him what you could do.

Recalling all the moves you had learned from watching them, even though he bested you, you managed to impress him enough that he offered to train you himself, which he did when he wasn’t busy on assignments. His friends Athos, Porthos and D’artagnan would always gather and watch the two of you train with great curiosity and after a time, would step in to help teach you new tricks. Soon enough, you were just as good as them if not better, and you were one of them.

Your tenacity had eventually won over the others and even though it had taken Captain Treville pulling a few favors, managed to have you brought into the garrison. Aramis even took you out to his favorite tavern to celebrate, bringing along Athos, Porthos and D’artagnan for what turned out to be such a large celebration that even months later, people of Paris still gossiped about it. All of you were close, closer than most realized.

But things began to change over time. Even though things were friendly between you and the quartet, familial even, things between you and Aramis had always been somewhat different. There had always been something brewing just beneath the surface, even more so when the two of you were alone together. You could have sworn that when alone, he would become even more flirty and gentle with you.

You told yourself time and time again that the two of you were simply friends, that he was too much of a lover to others to ever want to settle for just one woman, let alone you. But that didn’t stop your heart from wanting to burst every time it was just the two of you, every time he went out of his way to make you smile even when you didn’t feel like it. The man could get under your skin in ways that no one else could ever hope to. It was both thrilling and terrifying.

No sooner had the two of you finished your dinner and two tankards of ale apiece, the innkeeper informed the two of you that the room was ready for you upstairs and down the hall. Though glad to hear it, it also meant that the moment of truth was there. Could you really rest knowing that the man who had stolen your heart would be sleeping in the same room with you and only you?

Aramis followed close behind as you walked up the old wooden steps. You wondered what it would look like and if you would be able to perhaps partition off a sleeping area for you. That would go a long way towards making things less tense.

Opening the door, you looked in and what you saw made your heart drop into your stomach. It was something both horrifying and exciting and it was going to make the night long and complicated.

The two of you stood in silence for a moment as you processed what was happing, not looking at each other, too scared to speak what the two of you were thinking.

“There is only one bed…” You murmured just loud enough for Aramis to hear.

“Well, the innkeeper did say it was big enough for two people..” Aramis replied lightly, rubbing a hand over his face, as much in shock as you were.

“Did he mean the room or the bed?” You asked, your voice slightly cracking.

“Both?”

Dear followers,

As you may know I'm Ukrainian. And Ukraine is being at war with Russia for 8 years. They invaded us, they annexed Crimea, they now declared so-called DNR and LNR "independent" right after sending in their troops to support "peace" (peace my a*s). The situation is getting worse.

I ask you simply to support Ukraine, share information, protest against Russia and donate to Ukrainian charities, such as Повернись Живим (here)

To my Ukrainian followers, stay safe and strong 🇺🇦

Love you all❤️

Rick x Reader

Trigger Warning: Abuse, Death, Reproductive Abuse, Guns.

Magnum walked into the bar, having just come from a meeting with a potential client. A man from the mainland was looking for his wife, who had come to Hawaii on a girls trip and never came home. The client didn’t have much information, other than her friends had shared that she had gone on a hike and never returned. The woman in the photo he was given looked familiar, he just couldn’t place where he knew her from.

He sat in front of Rick, who was smiling down at his phone. “What are you smiling at?” He asked, trying to get a look at his phone.

Rick pulled away, locking his phone in the process. “Nothing.” He slipped the phone into his pocket, “how was the meeting with the potential client?”

Magnum sat his own phone on the bar, “It was fine. Just a man looking for his wife, who disappeared while on a girls trip.” He pulled up the photo and turned it towards Rick. “Does she look familiar to you? I feel like I know her from somewhere.”

Small Fic

So, this is going to be a S.W.A.T fic, with my own OC and Luca. Because… Kenny Johnson.

Couldn’t find the gif, so had to make do with a pic. ————

Nancy Fuentes had joined the S.W.A.T. team about a year ago now, and was a prior friend of Street, and boy could the team tell it. The way Nancy kicked ass was similar, but due to her size, she tended to improvise and dash around more. Luca was always amused to see her flying off and over fences and dudes.

Nancy gelled in really quickly, and often helped Luca when he needed a place to stay - having consoles and enjoying the older man’s company a lot. This didn’t go entirely unnoticed, except for him. They were headed to get someone, and walked in to find him with a snake - which is when Hondo volunteered Luca for the task.

“What?! Why me?” Luca turned to him. Nancy looked over, seeing the reluctance on his face. “I don’t mess with snakes.” Hondo answered. Nancy stepped forward. “I got this.” She answered, lowering her gun and getting ready to take the snake that was almost bigger than her. “He gets two medium rats and the turtles need a very specific diet.” The guy spoke. “Nance, are you sure, girl?” Luca asked. Nancy took the snake on her shoulder and used her arms to support the rest of the snake, looking at him in fascination. “Yeah, never held one before.” She answered, using her fingers to stroke him slightly. “There’s something wrong with you.” Hondo shook hs head. “You’re only figuring this out now?” She chuckled, not tearing her eyes from the reptile. Luca shook his own head with a smile. “I’m just glad it ain’t me.” Luca chuckled. “I got you, buddy.” Her voice joined in again, still not looking at anything other than the snake around her.

However, Chris and Deacon didn’t miss the way she looked over at Luca after, as they all prepared to head out. Luca didn’t notice, but the expression of love on her face surprised the two other S.W.A.T members. So, as the rest left, Deac stepped over to her.

“You sure you’re okay with the snake?” He asked. “Yeah.” “I’ve noticed the way you look at Luca.” He spoke, causing her to look over at the door in a panic seeing Luca far away enough for her to the glare at Deacon. “Can you warn me next time you’re about to bring that up?” “I’m surprised. You’re 22, right?” “Oh, please. A good person, is a good person.” She scoffed, turning back to notice Luca looking her way. He gave a wave, and she returned with a nod and smile. “You haven’t told him?” “Well, I doubt he’d see me in that light.” “Good person, is a good person, right?”

——–

It was later on, and Nancy was in the gym, working on the punch bag. She generally tried not to workout with the other members of the team, other than maybe Street or Chris, because she knew she often looked funky because of her curved spine that she was trying to correct, as well as generally keep fit. Of course, Luca was still out and about without a proper home, as he does, so he was rolling up into the gym to do some, too. And was surprised to see Nancy there.

“You aren’t usually here this late.” Luca’s voice made her jump. She turned, relief surging through her, before she knelt down to collect herself. “You fucking bastard.” She whispered. Luca chuckled, approaching her. “Sorry.” “Pfft, no you’re not.” “I am. A bit.” “Let me guess - you’re still homeless.” She spoke, standing upright with a smirk. “Something like that.” “Well, maybe we can hit the ring for a while, then you’re welcome to come back with me.” “Sweet. Let’s do it.”

——-

I may do a part 2 later.

Yesterday’s Luca Drabble Pt. 2

I am not sure how I actually feel about this - I’m going to finish it though, but if anyone wants to write a better one, please do.

It was the next day, Luca and Nancy showed up to work, and Deacon looked over with a frown on his face. Though, he knew nothing could have transpired because there were no notable changes. As Luca disappeared to speak with Chris, potentially hit the ring, Deacon approached Nancy.

“Who won this time?” He smirked. She looked up at him and chuckled. “I got off to a good start, but then that smug lil bastard round there just absolutely decimated me.” She replied, shaking her head in amusement. “You told him?” “Told him what?” “That you like him.” “Ho-ho, no.” She answered, waving her hands in nope. “Why not?” “Because I-” She went to answer. “Hey, how’s going, Fuentes?” Street’s voice interjected. “Yeah, not too bad. I’m a bit tired.” “You had Luca over again?” “Yeah.” “When are you two gonna hook up?” The younger man asked, maybe too loudly.

From his position, Luca heard what Street asked, and saw he was asking Nancy. Did Nancy have somebody? He felt almost at a loss - having harboured feelings for her for quite some time now. He also saw Deacon turn around and akwardly catch that Luca’s attention was directed to them.

“Street!” Nancy growled. “Oh, come on. You think we haven’t noticed you like him?” “Jim, maybe you shou-” Deacon turned back to say. “Can we not?” Nancy hissed. “If we didn’t know before, we definitely would after yesterday.” “Hey, I did that to help Hondo, too.” She shot back. Luca raised a brow in confusion, and Deacon caught his reaction.

Deacon pondered. Should he? I mean, should he really stir the pot up a bit? On the one hand, it would definitely get Nancy to admit her feelings. And Deacon now seemed certain Luca returned them. Otherwise he wouldn’t have looked like a kicked puppy when Street mentioned someone.

“I thought it was because you had never held a snake before?” Deacon spoke up. “Well, Hondo and Luca were clearly unsettled by it.” She shrugged. “Was it not heavy?” “Oh, it was. But I saw how reluctant Luca was, so I thought ‘fuck it’.” “You really need to tell him.” Street laughed. “Tell him what? The-” “That you like him.” Street spoke, maybe too loudly, because the room quietened. And before he could realise.” At this point, I’d even say that you love him.”

The room watched as Nancy cringed. Deacon winced at the situation he helped to create - but luckily Luca still seemed to be figuring it out as the rest of the team frowned over. And the cherry was put on the cake when one of Mumford’s guys, was walking by and just had to speak up;

“You on about Luca?” “Oh, Christ.” Nancy huffed, walking- nay, storming out of the room.  “Well, that’s one way to get her to admit it.” Chris shrugged, as they saw her figure fly down the corridor.” Good going, guys.”

This is when Luca seemed to look more confused, and this was not missed. Hondo looked at Luca, smirking a bit as he saw the cogs and gears turning. It didn’t take anyone for him to snap into action, walking after her as her form entire form disappear.

“Go ge-” Mumford’s guy went to cheer. “Don’t.” Hondo interrupted him.” Just don’t.”

Luca started a jog, and just about managed to see her swing into the locker room. He picked up a jog and followed suit. He came in to see her pacing and breathing heavily, clearly not sure if she should panic, be angry or cry fromthe embarrassment of the situation.

“Hey.” Luca softly spoke up. “Oh, no.” Nancy whispered, stopping and turning so that her body faced him, but didn’t look at him. “You okay?” She scoffed. “I’m not sure.” “Is it true?” “What?” She asked, turning to look anywhere but him. “Nancy.” He spoke, taking the few steps to reach her.” Look at me.” “I’m sure we’re gonna be needed so-” She tried to say, and also tried to walk out.

Luca softly put a hand to her arm to stop her, feeling her tense up further as she stopped and looked at his hand on her arm. He took a breath and turned to face her, moving her to face him also, before raising his other hand to tilt her head up to look at him.

“What are you doing?” She asked, in a hushed whisper, not able to be cold or avoidant with him anymore.

He stroked his thumb along her cheek, bringing it over towards her lips. As the pad of his thumb ghosted over them, she pressed a light kiss to it. She also then blushed, bit her lip and went to look down again. But, before she could, Luca tilted her head back up and dipped down to plant a kiss on her lips.

As she returned the kiss, Luca slowly began to back her up to the nearby lockers, pressing her against them as they revealed their feelings to the other. One of Luca’s hands dropped to her waist, travelling round the back to pull her against him, and elicited a breathy gasp from her.

He used this opportunity to run his tongue along her bottom lip, and he felt her arms around his neck move as her hands came up to his hair and pull herself closer to him.

The nature of the kiss quickly changed, as Luca left her lips to trail kisses to her jawline, then to her neck. She tilted her head in an attempt to make it easier for him, but with a low growl at the height difference, she gasped when Luca lifted her off the ground.

Her legs wrapped around his waist, as his lips found her neck. He smirked at the little whimpers she gave as his lips teased the sensitive area. One of his hands came up to move the neckline of her shirt away, and he then found the sweet spot of her neck, beginning to suck a mark as he moved his hips into hers. With her lewd moan, his hand went to untuck her shirt, when the door opened;

“Never mind. I see you’re fine.” Chris spoke, awkwardly backing out and leaving them alone again. “I forgot we were here.” Nancy stated. “Yeah.” “Good thing you’re staying with me, at the moment.” She mused, making him smile. “Yeah.” He agreed, pressing a hard kiss to her lips, before setting her down.” We ought to get to work.” “Yeeeeaaaah…” Nancy spoke, drawing out the word in exasperation.” Yeah.”

Luca chuckled as they shared one more kiss, that nearly turned far too steamy again, before tearing away and forcing themselves out of the room. Otherwise, they’d probably never have left it.

Small Luca Fic

It had been a few months in their relationship, and Luca had actually moved in with Nancy. Things were going great. She’d already made sure to tell him that they were going to just go with things, and go at Luca’s speed. He had never been so sure he was so in love as he was in that moment. Here he was, playing on their, now, shared xbox as Nancy showered in the bathroom.

He was enjoying it, too, until he heard the cry of pain and string of swearing that followed as Nancy shut the water off and he heard a thump not long after. He chuckled a little, before getting up off the couch and walking towards the bathroom.

“Are you okay, baby?” He asked, turning the corner to see her on the floor. “Not really, babe.” She huffed. “Why am I like this? Why did my parents have me?” “What happened?” He sniggered, approaching her. “I was trying to reach for the body wash, and I slipped and my arm caught the bloody razor - look.” She groaned, showing her elbow that had a rather good few lines on it from the razor. “And then, I wanted to come out to get it sorted, when I just had to slip. Obviously, there was no way I was saving myself whilst I am this wet, so I just committed to the fall. I hate myself.” “Don’t say that. You’re perfect. Now, let me see that arm.” He shook his head, helping her to stand, and he inspected the rather bloody lines. “I imagine this is a kick in my ass to put the razor away properly when I am finished with it.” “I may still find a way.” She huffed. “Let’s get this wiped, dried and patched.” He spoke, before looking around the rest of her body. “What you doing, stud?” She smirked. “I’m trying to check the rest of you for injuries.” He grinned, his demeanour chaning at the use of the name. “Oh, sure. For injuries.” Nancy mused. “Looks like you may need help getting to the bedroom.” He rasped, picking her up with one arm, as he grabbed a towel to hold to her elbow in the other. “You going to take care of me?” She purred. “You know it, darlin’.”

Once the arm was patched up - he held up to his promise.

Quick Luca Fic

She was shot, and she was shot bad. She told them to get the letter out, just in case she didn’t make it. Luca was terrified. Megara was being rushed to surgery as they congregated by her locker.

“I’m sure she will be fine. It’d take more than a bullet to take down Meggie. But, I would hate to not adhere to her wishes.” Hondo spoke, before turning and opening her locker. He turned with the envelope in his hands. “Who is it addressed to, Hondo?” Deacon asked, holding onto his cross.

In the year she had been on the team, everyone had grown fond of her in their own way. Who couldn’t? Megara was a kind, generous and bubbly soul - yet ferocious when she needed to be. Hondo nodded at the envelope.

“Luca.” He told them. Luca looked at him in shock. “Me?” He asked, moving over to take the letter from the leader’s hands.

There on the envelope, in her captivating cursive, was his name. It was no secret to anyone in the room that there was something between the two. The feelings they harboured for each other were as clear as day, except to them. He let out a shaky breath as he opened the letter, finding a meticulously folded piece of paper.

Dearest Luca,

You know, I didn’t really know what to write for one of these. Or who to. You actually told me to write this 4 weeks ago; but until now, I didn’t have a loved one to write to.

You’ve come to mean a lot to me, and you inspire me. Before S.W.A.T, I was quite happy to just fuck around with my fitness - but you inspired me to build my arm strength, to box. I want you to know that because I could probably never tell you to your face.

Truth is, and it’s a dick move, but the only letter I have to write to you is a confession. I’ve fallen pretty hard for you. I can hear Chris’ voice teasing me about it. I’ve always believed that age is irrelevant. A good person, is a good person. And you are a good person.

If you have read this, then I am glad I’m not going to be there to die of embarrassment, but pissed I never had a reason to rewrite this damn thing to something either less embarrassing or something. Who knows, maybe the one reading this is going to be me, because I probably will write a different letter at some point. How could I let you read this…

I actually have to wrap this up now, because you are actually calling me away. You’re staying at my apartment. You can have my xbox and games, if you want. And know that, I love you. More than I probably should for a S.W.A.T officer to another.

Megara

“Aw, man.” He croaked, looking up at Hondo. “Go visit her.” Hondo nodded. “You don’t understand, she sa-” “We know. And we have noticed that you do, too. Go to her.” Hondo told him.

Luca was out like a shot, letter still in his hands as he race to his bike. Jess saw his haste and went round to the locker room, peering in and seeing the sad faces of all the S.W.A.T members. She looked to Hondo, who looked over to her as she appeared.

“Where’s Luca going?” She asked. “He’s going to Meggie.” “What about you guys?” “I think they’re going to need a moment.” Deacon responded. “We haven’t heard from the hospital yet. I was on my way to collect you.” “You’re talking about Megara Howes. She’ll make it.” Chris smiled sadly.

Luca eventually pulled into the hospital, walking through the corridors to find the reception. He was lucky, they were just pulling her out of a successful surgery. Once they got her fixed in her room, he was given the number and he strode through to find it.

Once he entered the room, he saw her sleeping, pale form. She had lost a lot of blood, but she was alive. He softly took a hold of his hand as he approached her, and stroked his thumb along her hand. Whilst some tension had left his body, he was still highly concerned for her.

Time passed, and eventually the rest of the team showed up at the hospital - but Luca would not leave her side. This confused Hicks and Jess more, but Hondo kept them at bay, as they all waited to hear when she would wake.

Luca sat in the chair next to her bed, holding her hand still and nearly drifting off to sleep. Holding her letter in his other hand as he willed her to wake. It would seem she felt this, as she began to stir next to him. He stood, and watched in delight as she began to open her eyes.

“Oh, no. Waking up in hospital really is bright. Fuck me!” She exclaimed. Luca chuckled, gaining her attention. “Luca!” “Hey, sweetheart. Glad you’re finally awake.” “How long has it been?” “Hours. Been a long day.” “You guys didn’t actually read my letter, right?” She asked, but then noticed the paper in his hand. “Oh, shit.” “I’m glad I did, because you’re right. It would be a dick move to tell me only if you die.” He mused. “Oh, what must you think of me? Oh, no.” She blushed, trying to hide her face. “I think we’re both going to need to rewrite our letters.” He told her, before leaning down and pressing a gentle, yet loving kiss on her lips. One that poured all the unspoken feelings into each other.
