Simple Calculation

To save time and to calculate the cutout points faster, I created a small table with Calc, which calculates the values for simple rectangular windows/doors.

By entering two points (top left/bottom right) the other two points are calculated and the A and B points are listed according to the edges. Now I can just copy and paste the values.

Very useful for my current WIP. When I have time, I will create a general version and make it available for the DL. Best regards, x-creas

A greeting from the depths

Hey Simmers!

I have to take it easy due to a painful inflammation in my foot (metatarsal/outer edge) 🙁. The positive side: Finally more time to work on Blender😉. I'm currently in the process of converting Madaya74's TS3 caravan set to TS4. It's a big project with a lot of objects and I don't know how long it will take. It's also a challenge for me, as I'm probably facing "new" things in terms of creating CC.

Meanwhile Blender3 does a lot of things faster by hand. Practice comes and I always have my Blender manual at hand. I bought it after careful consideration!

If I still have the time/desire, I might also rework the textures and expand the color palette - we'll see.

The picture shows the double window from the set. I have a working file that contains several object collections. This way there are not so many individual files and I can work more efficiently. Later, only the final version of each window will be saved separately.

City Lights Windows Part 1 - cutout fix & closed Versions

Today I am happy to make the City-Lights Windwos Set (Part 1) from @mincts4 available for download.

After the 3rd September 2020 patch, the CC windows and doors stopped working. I was able to either download most of them fixed from the creator or fix them myself with S4Studio-Batchfix. But just with my favorite set, the batch fix didn't work as it should. After consultation with Minc - who makes such great Sims4 CC - I have now repaired all the windows and solved the cutout problem. I have also expanded the set by 3 variations as a closed version.

Deutsch/German: Heute darf ich Euch freudig das City-Lights Windwos Set (Part 1) von Minc zum Download zur Verfügung stellen.

Nachdem September 2020 Patch funktionierten die CC Fenster und Türen nicht mehr. Die meisten davon konnte ich entweder vom Ersteller gefixt downloaden oder mit S4Studio-Batchfix selbst reparieren. Doch ausgerechnet bei meinem Lieblingsset klappte der Batchfix nicht so wie er sollte. Nach Rücksprache mit Minc - die so tolle Sims4 CC macht - habe ich die Fenster nun alle repariert und das Cutout-Problem gelöst. Zudem habe ich das Set um 3 Variationen als Closed-Version erweitert.

Lawn edge fence as an object

Hello Simmers,

It always bothers me that with Sims4 the fences cannot be placed directly on the property line. So I then fail to implement my ideas. I love these stone edges to demarcate sidewalks or lawns. I particularly like to use the Lawn edge fence from the "Intro" set from @syboubou. With her permission, I was allowed to modify the fence as an object and make it available for you to download. Have fun with it! Can be found under "Sculptures" or via search with "XC".

x-creas Deutsch/German: ich stört es immer wieder, das bei Sims4 die Zäune nicht direkt an die Grundstücksgrenze gesetzt werden können. So scheitere ich dann daran, meine Vorstellungen umzusetzen. Ich liebe diese Steinkanten zur Abgrenzung von Gehwegen oder Rasenflächen. Ganz besonders gerne verwende ich von Syboulette den Lawn edge fence aus dem Set "Intro". Mit ihrer Erlaubnis, durfte ich den Zaun als Objekt modifizieren und ihn Euch zum Download zur Verfügung stellen. Viel Spaß damit! Kann unter "Skulpturen" oder über Suche mit "XC" gefunden werden.

Somerville Planters Conversion

My first conversion is finally done! I am proud of myself! In TS3 I loved Gosik's "Somerville Planter Set". Now I've tried my first conversion.

The only difference to the original is the height of the inner base. I set this a little higher because it looks nicer in my eyes.

It wasn't easy, as a newbie, to deal directly with rigs / slots when you have no idea. I was often tempted to simply provide the plant boxes with decorative slots so that only normal decorative plants (outdoor / indoor) can be placed. But in the end I managed to get the planting function for seeds in almost all of them. However, there are problems with the box size (which I do not want to change) with Box No. 4 and 5 due to the planting spacing. With Box No. 4 you can see some earth sticking out over the edge on the right and left, if you e.g. Sow mushrooms. With smaller plants like carrots, spinach etc. everything is great. With Box No. 5, I completely removed the planting function, because there is simply too little space for the spacing between the plants and I thought it stupid that only two work.

In addition, all plant boxes have height-adjustable deco slots. This means that some plants can be placed a little deeper in the earth. This works for some plants, but not for all. I cannot say why that is. For testing I also used loose plants from sets from Nynaeve or Novvvas, which can be placed in different pots. Plants from the build menu also work to some extent. Some have to be placed correctly with the MOO cheat.

The plant boxes can be lined up close to each other, but they cannot be used for seeds (problem of distance between the plants).

In TS3 habe ich das "Somerville Planter Set" von Gosik geliebt. Nun habe ich mich an meiner erste Conversion versucht.

Abweichend zum Original ist nur die Höhe des Innenbodens. Diesen habe ich etwas höher gesetzt, weil das in meinen Augen schöner aussieht.

Es war nicht einfach, als Newbie, sich direkt mit Rigs/Slots zu befassen, wenn man keine Ahnung hat. Oft war ich versucht, die Pflanzboxen einfach nur mit Deko-Slots zu versehen, so dass nur normale Dekopflanzen (Outdoor/Indoor) platziert werden können. Doch letzendlich habe ich es bei fast allen geschafft, die Pflanz-Funktion für Saatgut hinzubekommen. Allerdings gibt es bei der Box No° 4 und 5 aufgrund der Pflanzabstände Probleme mit der Boxgröße (die ich nicht verändern möchte). Bei der Box No° 4 sieht man rechts und links an der Stelle etwas Erde über den Rand hinausragen, wenn man z.Bsp. Pilze aussäät. Bei kleineren Pflanzen wie Karotten, Spinat etc. ist alles super. Bei der Box No° 5 habe ich die Pflanz-Funktion komplett rausgenommen, da einfach zu wenig Platz ist für die Abstände der Pflanzen und ich es doof fand, dass nur zwei funktionieren.

Zusätzlich haben alle Pflanzboxen höhenverstellbare Deco-Slots erhalten. D.h. manche Pflanzen lassen sich so etwas tiefer in die Erde setzen. Bei einigen Pflanzen funktioniert das, doch nicht bei allen. Woran das liegt, vermag ich nicht zu sagen. Ich habe zum testen unter anderem auch lose Pflanzen aus Sets von Nynaeve oder Novvvas verwendet, die in unterschiedliche Pots gesetzt werden können. Auch Pflanzen aus dem Bau-Menü funktionieren teilweise. Einige müssen mit dem MOO-Cheat richtig platziert werden.

Die Pflanzboxen können dicht nebeneinander gereiht werden, allerdings so nicht für Saatgut verwendet werden (Abstandproblem zwischen den Pflanzen).

Catasta Stone Foundation

An attentive simmer made me aware that the stone foundation was missing. Somehow I forgot to create it, I'm very sorry. Now I've created it and uploaded it to Simfileshare for you. The set is based on the great Catasta Platform Set by syboubou, like the other Catasta foundations. Thank you syboubou for providing the textures. I hope you like them.
