@ Voltron Fandom: Please Take a Moment to Read

With this new discourse at hand, I’d like to address a few things. To start off, I’d like to say that Voltron is my favourite show. It makes me happier than anyone will ever know, and in my dark and sad times, it’s what cheers me up. I’m sure a lot of you feel the same. It’s the only fandom that I’ve ever consistently been a part of.

I ship Klance. Anyone who follows my blog knows this. BUT- I don’t discredit or hate on anybody else for having their ship. If the creators of the show ended up making Shieth, Kallura, Shance, etc. canon, I would still watch and love the show. Would I be disappointed? Of course. Would I get hateful? Definitely not. The creators have stated that all ships are valid, and wether /you/ like the ship or not, you have no right to hate on somebody for having their ship. These are fictional characters, and we all get joy from seeing our favourite couples become canon or having moments hinting at them being canon.

Here’s what I would like to propose.

This fandom has so much potential! We have a lot of wonderful artists, and people who are so truly funny! We have wonderful fic writers, AU creators, and so much more! It’s time to stop the hate and welcome the love. I’ve seen countless posts saying things like, “Here comes the discourse.” and, “I hate this fandom.” So, I felt the need to take a stand. At heart, none of us are bad people for shipping certain things or harbouring certain head cannons. Can we all please try to come together and rise up to a better reality? As Slav would say, “There are no realities where spreading hate would help anyone.”

Instead of being cutthroat and looking for every excuse to bully, let’s all put this aside and rise as one powerful, fun, and loving fandom.
