HOLLOW EYES stare blankly back at her; the unerring silence and generally unmoving expression of the spirit doing little to quell what seems to be an almost curious atmosphere to the little ghost-thing. Waxen globs shift and float beside it as it tilts its head one way and then the other -- inspecting the antlers on the sides of her head? As curious about her as she is about it, it seems.
" Nope! Not a word. I've had this lil' guy around as long as I can remember, and he's never so much as cheeped or peeped at me."
One hand sits idle on Auburns hip; and despite any prior conflicts ( and really, whats the difference between fight and fun? ), the warm grin on his face is the same that he'd give to just about anyone else engaging in pleasant conversation with him. The Candle Spirit seems knocked from its investigative head-tilting as Auburn pokes its waxy side with his fingertip; darting back with its arms spread wide in silent mock-shock. The audacity!
" Better than Paimon, huh? Hah! Don't let traveler let you hear that. What'd I do if they got the idea of wanting to trade little floating buddies, huh? I don't think ghost-wax makes for good emergency food! And I don't think I've ever seen Paimon wield any sort of weapon... "
Yanfei had been subconsciously following its movements when someone rudely put an end to their little game, opting to watch it float around instead. How unique – they reminded her of the hitodama legend she had heard about in some Inazuma novels but more sentient. Its mannerisms were bordering on unnerving but she doubted it had any malice behind those hollow eyes.
“Hmm… wonder why it chose you? I mean, you’re saying this spirit has willingly stayed around for all these years without some kind of scary binding vow. You must be someone quite special… don’t tell me you’re some kind of royalty now.” She watched the two interact with a look akin to content, several questions still on her mind but she’d give it a rest for now. Auburn was already proving entertaining enough for her to continue to seek out from time to time (so long as he didn’t insist on trying to tussle with her again.)
“If you’re free one day, I’d love to show this spirit to my grandmother – she’d probably have some kind of knowledge on its origins. Oh… and I suppose you could come too.
