“Hey, Barry! You got a second?” Matthew uttered as he saw the older male enter the forensic lab. Standing up from behind his desk, he had a slide set up within the microscope but was having difficulty determining what he was looking at exactly. Hopefully Barry knew what it was or could at least give him some advice on what it could be. “I have this substance for a case I’m assigned to but I just can’t make heads or tails on it. You free to give me a little hand?”

Almost as soon as he walked into work for the day Barry finds his expertise in need. It’s no problem really, he was used to this sort of thing. No need to catch your breath or have a moment to oneself when you had all the time in the world. “For sure Matthew,” Barry said with a smile, nodding at him. “Just give me a second to unpack and I’ll come right over.” Once he’s tugged his jacket off and having hung it on the coatrack, he pulled on a labcoat, only once laying his messenger bag on his desk.

“Lets see what we’ve got here,” the blond mused, already looking through the microscope. “Porous, interesting,” Barry mumbled. “Not enough of the substance for the centrifuge I would guess.” Barry spent the next few minutes going through a few ideas, jotting notes and quickly scratching them out. “Was this found at a job site? Or perhaps is a contractor involved in this case at all? It’s an expanding foam typically used for sealing in windows. I’d have a look at that first, might point you in the right direction.”
