This is a blog dedicated to helping other people discover good lgbt+ books. I myself have had to find lgbt+ books on my own and I know it can be quite hard, so here we go. :)

Boosting a new romance anthology for friends!!

Love & Bubbles is a collection of short stories of underwater romance. The characters range from classics like mermaids and selkies, to creative interpretations on the theme that take you to the Amazon river basin, alien water planets, and an ice-crusted lake.
We put out a call for love stories of all gender pairings and styles, and were surprised to discover the bulk of our submissions featured lesbian couples. Of the eleven base stories featured, eight feature relationships between queer women.
Featuring:
  • Adam & Galeta by Ellen Denton
  • Color and Pressure by Evvan Burke
  • Kiss the Girl by Sarah Hollowell
  • Familiar Waters by V. S. Holmes
  • The Wheel-Bearers by Allison Spector
  • A Happy Place by Maggie Derrick
  • The Selkie Wife by Lia Cooper
  • Dwindling Forest of Kelp by Victoria Zelvin
  • Summoned by Minerva Cerridwen
  • Thawed by Sonni de Soto
  • Worlds Between Us by Riley Sidell
In addition, we have six mystery stories that will be announced as we get closer to our stretch goals!

Guess what, my loves? These four books are now available in pdf form, for those of you who either don’t like Amazon or don’t have kindles/don’t want to use the kindle app. I’m sorry that it’s taken me this long and I appreciate your patience! The rest will come, but I want to see how the site works first. Everything above contains fluffy f/f (in addition to fluffy m/m, fluffy m/f trans romance, and fluffy ace adventure, in the case of Tales from Perach) and features Jewish main characters. https://gumroad.com/shiraglassman Knit One Girl Two $2 - Clara’s an indie dyer who falls for Danielle, the wildlife painter who inspired her latest round of sock club. Includes a cat, fandom, and girls kissing in a science museum. Fearless $1.30 - Lana is a newly divorced band mom who’s just come out of the closet and Melanie is one of the music teachers at her daughter’s high school. They get snowed in together at the All-State hotel; will Mel get her to pick up the violin again for the first time in 20 years? The Olive Conspiracy $4 - Queen Shulamit and her found family – which includes her loyal wife plus a warrior woman, a dragon, and a witch – race against time to uncover the spies behind agricultural sabotage that threatens her beloved country’s economy. Besides the royal couple this one also includes a bonus f/f ‘ship consisting of Cute Lesbian Farmers. Tales From Perach $2 - Seven LGBTQA+-centered short stories set in the Jewish fantasy world of the Mangoverse books. Includes cis f/f (the previously mentioned lesbian farmers, in the cover art), cis m/m, trans m/cis f, trans f/cis m, ace adventure, and what a Purimspiel is like for a royal family with two moms, two dads, and a dragon. Please help me spread the word so anyone who’s been waiting for a way to buy my stuff in pdf form or without Amazon gets the news! Thank you so much.

I’ve read Tales From Perach and Knit One Girl Two and both are adorable and excellent LGBTQ+ rep! I just read another chapter of the Olive Conspiracy today (I’ve been reading it a bit slowly because I’m enjoying it so much!) I’m planning to get Fearless ASAP. :)

The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson

This book follows the lives of two transgender teens in the U.K. who are trying to be themselves without being ridiculed. The way the author chose to have one main character at the very beginning of their transition and the other much further along helps to get to very different characters and emotions from the two throughout the book.

It’s really difficult to find good YA series with LGBT+ protagonists AND a dystopian setting, so I’ve decided to write my own 👍

To garner a bit of support behind it & build a small readership I’ve decided to make a URL jar project.

I’ll write the urls of people who reblog this post & pop them in the jar. The idea is that by the time the book is hopefully published I’ll be able to personally let each of you know (& maybe offer some bonus preview chapters/content eyyy). Also, I’ll pull one url from the jar & base a character on the winner (you can choose their name, appearance, etc.) ❤️

The Midland Club by Mark Spano

The Midland Club is a really great quick mystery read. While mystery isn’t normally my genre of choice, I found this one to be really interesting. Unlike most of the other books on this blog, this one isn’t set in modern day which makes it particularly intriguing because it adds that aura of mistrust and suspicion toward the Rich, the main character, because he is queer. The mystery is built upon the death of “an old queer negro” by the name of Puce Bordeaux who Rich was an acquaintance to. If you have the time, I would really suggest picking up this book.

Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld

This is book is split into two 'stories'. One story is about Darcy, who writes a book and goes to New York to edit and publish her book as well as write her sequel. While editing, she meets other writers and befriends a few of them (including a few of her favourite authors.) The other story is about the main character in her book and what happens to her. This is a great book to bring on a long flight or car ride as it is almost 600 pages.

What The A Really Stands For

Just in time for Pride, Bitch Media has a story about a sexual orientation that is often excluded from the ever-lengthening LGBTQA (especially when the A stands for "ally.") https://bitchmedia.org/article/not-accepting-romance-submissions-bringing-asexual-characters-ya If you could post a link to my article about asexuality in YA, I would really appreciate it. -girlinstory
