Ricky’s completely proud of himself. So totally proud of himself for knowing how to shoot an arrow. Until Kiran recovers the weapons from his hands and shows him up completely effortlessly. He doesn’t catch it. He’s too busy being gobsmacked. This adorable guy that seemed so coy and about to internally explode can do all of this? What? How? “Uuuuh….” is all he can muster.
Kiran was confused. He could have expected such a reaction from an ordinary human, but Ricky was a werewolf, and now he felt like a fool. Most likely the other found it childish, or found him odd, or a mix of both. His gaze fell to the ground as he slipped the nunchackus back into his bag, clearly flustered, and he pulled out a little, pretty box. 〝 So, anyway, that’s how you do it. I’m sure you knew. 〟 Placing the box in Ricky’s hand, he gave a weak smile. 〝 Welcome into the pack. Enjoy. I made it. Not the pack, the cake. 〟 He still didn’t know why he listened to his father and made green tea cake, but it seemed like a good way to make friends. 〝 I’ll be around the school if you need me. 〟

“Huh. Awesome.” He takes the nunchucks and swings it around a little. “Y’know, I can actually shoot a bow. Me and ‘nando used to know a guy called Jamie. Well– Hernando knew him more. He taught Hernando the bow and the nerd thought it was so great he forced the poor kid to teach me too.” He starts making noises as he swings the nunchucks around like a child.
〝 That’s so cool! The bow is actually a pretty versatile weapon. I’m sure you’re good at it. We used to have an archer. 〟 Part of him wanted to mention that he knew how to use a bow and even a crossbow, but the other looked so proud that he didn’t want to ruin it. When he started swinging the nunchakus around like that, he couldn’t help the smile that turned into a chuckle. 〝 That’s not how you use them, 〟 he said, snatching one of them off of the werewolf’s hand with a quick move. Within a few seconds, Kiran was rotating the weapon around the length of his own arm with speed and precision, and yet fluid movements, putting distance between thanks to the sticks fending the air at the sides of Ricky. He stopped just one moment before striking the other’s cheek with the sticks, bringing them under his arm with another swing. 〝 Alright, did you catch that? Try to do what I just did. 〟

“I-I work here. Everyone was meant to have finished up.” The response is almost immediately out of his lips, gaze lifting to eh ceiling to try and at least remove some of the other’s embarrassment. He’d like to say that this was the first time he’d had a ha;f naked guy sneaking around the gym as he helped close for the night, but it wasn’t. Hell, not even in the single digits anymore. He’d just been making sure all the machines were off when he’d caught sight of Kiran making his way back toward an unattended bag. “Mine’s JJ. Sorry, don’t worry, I didn’t see an-Well, I mean, I did, but you got nothing to be embar-I should just stop talking.”
〝 Really?! You really think s— 〟 He trailed off, looking everywhere but at the other guy. It wasn’t everyday someone paid him a compliment, but he spoke without realizing what he was saying. Clearing his throat, he turned around. 〝 Gimmie a sec. 〟 Dropping the towel and looking into his bag, he finally found some clothes, which he hurriedly put on. In boxers and t-shirt, he didn’t realize he put the latter one on the wrong side. Turning again, he smiled and walked towards the other, grabbing his hand and shaking it. 〝 I didn’t know you worked here. I’m sorry for upsetting you, but it’s nice to meet you! I hope you’ll let me make it up for you sometime. 〟
